It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eric Dwyer announce his passing on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by his parents: John and Emma Dwyer; brothers: John, Stanley and Allan; sisters: Gladys, Mildred and Phyllis. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Ida; son Bruce of Vancouver; grandchildren: Christopher, Janice and Deanna; great granddaughter Rhea and special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Randy Lockyer officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away on March 31, 2007 at his residence, Terry Hillier at the age of 53 years. Mr. Hillier was a long time employee of Abitibi Consolidated. Predeceased by his parents: Harold and Beatrice Hillier. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his sisters: Arlene of Grand Falls - Windsor, Nancy and Kathy (Steve) Miller both of Lower Sackville, NS; brother Ken (Pauline) of Grand Falls -Windsor; nieces: Nicole and Heather; nephew Neil; special friend Sharon Murphy (and her daughter Courtney) and friend Lynne Allan; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. Donations in his memory were made to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Clinic, Grand Falls - Windsor or to the SPCA. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Passed peacefully away on April 26, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center Kenneth Howse. He was 85 years of age. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Cyril, Bill, Sam, Henry, George and Ida. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife Mary; sons: Eric (Patricia) and David (Sarah); daughter Juanita (Tom) Murphy all of Grand Falls - Windsor; granchildren: Erica, Michelle (Cory), Paul (Jennifer), Christopher (Suzanne), Julie (Dave) and Amy (Stephen); great grandson Broyden; brother Harvey (Marion); sister May Pardy and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 27, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Holy Trinity Anglican Church with Rev. Randy Lockyer officiating. Interment was at the Anglican Church Cemetery, Union Street. Flowers were gratefully accepted or donations in his memory were made to the Church Memorial Fund. Passed peacefully away at his residence surrounded by his family on June 1, 2007, Arthur A. Kelly in his 85th year. Mr. Kelly was a past president of the Newfoundland Federation of Labour and retired as the national representative of the Canadian Paperworkers Union in 1989. He was also a member of the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 59 and The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12. Predeceased by his first wife Mildred, parents: Nicholas and Nora Kelly, 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Left to mourn are his wife Lucy (Lidstone), sons: Jim of Newmarket, ON, David (Sandra) of Hanover, ON, Arthur JR. (Wendy) of Elora, ON, daughters: Carol (Adrian Wynands) of North Augusta, ON Patricia (Boyd Decker) of Guelph, ON, Elaine (Gary Osmond) of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, Carmel (Jack Cooper) of Fergus, ON and Pauline (Chris Fudge) of Guelph, ON. Also, leaving to mourn brother, Rev. L.J. Kelly of Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by the Lidstone family, Chris, Cindy and Bonnie. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Saturday, June 2, 2007 at 7 - 9 p.m. and Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 2 - 4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Monday, June 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church with Father Alberto Adaza officiating and assisted by Father David Joy. Interment was at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Main Street, Grand Falls - Windsor. Pallbearers were members of the B.P.O Elks: Ted Murphy, Phil Haynes, Jack MacDonald and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12: Jim Day, Jim Molloy and Don Hiscock. Honorary pallbearer Frank Tremblett CPU and George MacDonald CEP. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Donations were made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, Cancer Centre Central West.

Passed peacefully away on July 8, 2007 at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Care Center, Ivy King at the age of 81 years. Mrs. King was a member of the Salvation Army Home League and the Park St. Pals. Predeceased by her husband James; daughters: Ellen and Emily; sisters: Elsie and Rosie; parents: Albert and Clara Patey. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Munden (Dorothy) of Grand Falls - Windsor; daughters: Blanche (Wilbur) Pippy of North York, ON and Elsie (Woodrow) Janes of Grand Falls - Windsor. Also leaving to mourn sisters: Lottie King and Irene Elliott; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Visitation took place from Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2007 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel with Major Sandra Stokes officiating. Interment was at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Caribou Road. Donations in her memory were made to the Salvation Army Park Street Citadel or to a charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Bob Duffney, Tom White, Roland Loder, Heber Hussey, Louis Biles and Junior Braye.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Ivan; son Peter of Vancouver, BC; daughter Susan (Tony) of Forteau, Labrador; mother Rosalie Fowler; brother Milton (Irene) and a large circle of other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Memorial United Church with Rev. Howard Crooks officiating. Passed away suddenly at her family residence on September 6, 2007 Rebecca Mercier at the age of 15 years. Predeceased by her paternal grandfather Andre Mercier and great grandparents Maurice and Rose Bernier. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories her parents Pierre and Regina Mercier; sister Sinead Mercier; grandparents: Gerard and Helene O'Leary and Madeline Bernier. Passed away suddenly on August 30, at Golden Years Estate in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL in her 74th year, Myrtle Langford. Predeceased by her loving husband, Randolph E. Langford, in 2003 and parents Robert and Blanche Osmond. Leaving to mourn her loss are her sons: Robert (Wendy), Elvis (Janet), Roger (Carolyn), Ford (Carmine) and daughters: Trixie Langford-Bursey (Michael), Blanche Brake (Alphonse), Beverley McIsaac (Wilfred), Trudy, Susan McCulley (Larry). Also leaving to mourn her brother Daniel Osmond (Hattie) and sisters: Evelyn Thorne (Ed) and Trixie Mitchell and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a large number of other relatives and friends. A private family prayer service was held, followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations in Myrtle's memory were made to the Canadian Diabetes. Association, or a charity of one's choice.
