Lorne White
The death of Lorne White, age 88 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 14, 2003.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the Late Casmire and Frances (Cormier) LeBlanc.
Lorne worked for the Electric Power Commission retiring in 1979 with 35 years of service.
Lorne will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years the former Verna McNutt, Sackville, a son, Ronald (Brenda), Ottawa, a daughter, Lorna (Rick) White-Maxwell, Toronto, a grandson, Kevin and niece and nephews, Frank, Gordon and Myrna.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation.
Friends and relatives are invited to a gathering at the Jones Funeral Home on Thursday evening April 17, 2003 from 7 to 9 PM, to share with Verna, Lorna and Ronald in a time of remembrance and reflection with refreshments.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes. Assoc. or a charity of the donor's choice.
Norman I. Cole
The death of Norman I. Cole, age 91, of Sackville, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Wednesday, June 25, 2003.
Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Charles and Annie May (Miles) Cole.
An active member of Main Street Baptist Church he was a choir member for over 45 years a Sunday School Teacher and a former deacon.
He is survived by 2 sons; Sidney (Ruth) of Sackville, and Norman (Drenna) of Malagash, NS, 2 daughters; Madelyn 'Jackie' (Harley) Smith of Sackville and Joan Beal of Sackville, 6 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his wife the former Alma Bulmer, he is predeceased by 1 sister; Ella Estabrooks, 2 brothers; Charles and Alexander.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300) on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm with the funeral from the Funeral Home on Sunday at 2pm, Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
Barbara Greene
The death of Barbara Greene, age 74, widow of Finley Greene, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, after a brief illness.
Born in Jolicure, NB, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Marjorie (Weeks) Oulton.
Barbara loved children so after raising her own children she then cared for others who affectionately called her Auntie Barb.
She was a member of the Ruby Rebekah Lodge and the Past Matron's Club.
Barb enjoyed knitting, crocheting and quilting.
She will be sadly missed by a son Terence (Gretchen) of Sackville, daughters, Bonita (Walter Knopp) Greene of Spokane, Washington, Kimberly (Donald) Fillmore and Angela and Laura Greene all of Sackville, grandchildren Jennifer Carter, Alyssa, Meghan and Terrie Greene, Stevy and Demi Fillmore and Michael Knopp and one great grandchild Alexander Carter and a brother Donald (Charlotte) of Jolicure.
She was predeceased by her husband Finley in 1997
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 11 am, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating.
Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Sackville Civic Centre or a charity of your choice.
Ada Legere
The death of Ada Legere, age 79, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Highland View Hospital, Amherst on Sunday, June 8, 2003.
Born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Major and Nelda (Crossman) MacDonald.
She was a member of the Cap Pele Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald, Port Elgin, 3 sons, Terry and Geoffrey (Tina ), both of Port Elgin and Paul, Westlock AB, 3 daughters, Linda (Gerald) Buote, Welland, ON, Rose-Marie (Neil) Bain, Westlock, AB and Jacqueline (Keith Giles) Lamoureaux, Castle Downs, AB., 13 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visitation Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 11 am. Burial in the parish cemetery.
A prayer vigil will be held Monday at 8:30 pm, all are invited.
Corinne Legere
The death of Corinne Legere, age 85, widow of George Legere, occurred suddenly on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at the Victoria Manor, Amherst.
Born in Port Elgin she was a daughter of the late Simon and Salomne (Babineau) Cormier.
She was a member of the St. Clements Church and CWL, Port Elgin
Corinne will be sadly missed by a son Leonard, Cambridge, ON, 2 daughters, Paulette (Douglas) Purdy, Sackville and Julie (Courtney) Wall, Port Elgin, 1 sister, Greta White, Amherst, NS, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1993 and 2 sons, Ronald and Charles.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main Street, Port Elgin with visitation Sunday and Monday from 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 11 am at St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin, Rev. Father Philip Mulligan officiating.
Burial in the parish cemetery.

Wilma Reade
The death of Wilma Reade, age 73, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, June 8, 2003.
Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Maude (Goodwin) Corbett.
She was a member of the Port Elgin Senior Citizen's Club.
Wilma started her teaching career in Tankville, NB and finished in Tidnish, NS before going on to raise her 10 children.
She will be sadly missed by her 5 sons; Frank (Theresa), Moncton, Jack (Wanda), Bayside, Bill (Arlene), Bayside, Steven (Patti), Bayside, Jeff (Chris), Moncton, Harold (Gayle) Fredriksen, 4 daughters; Deborah (James) Rogerson, Baie Verte, Heather Reade, Timber River, Cathy (James) Noonan, Port Elgin, Holly (Wilco) Reade, Bayside, 28 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a sister; Paige Cormier, Moncton.
In addition to her husband John, she was predeceased by her son Daryl, and 2 grandchildren Tammy and Jason.
Resting at the Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin, (364-1300), there will be visiting hours on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 pm, burial will follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.

Heather Ann Richard
The death of Heather Ann Richard, age 55, wife of Regis Richard, occurred Sunday, June 15, 2003 at her home.
Born in Moncton, she was a daughter of the late John "Jack" and Mary Ann (Robichaud) O'Brien.
She was an avid quilter and gardener.
Heather will be sadly missed by her husband, Regis, Sackville, a daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Braithewaite, Montreal, brothers, Dennis O'Brien, Dorchester, David and Manning O'Brien, both of Sackville, 2 half -brothers, Kevin MacKenzie, Toronto and Jeff MacKenzie, Dorchester, a sister, Candice (Mike) Mollins, Moncton and 3 grandchildren, Mariah, Natisha and Brayden.
She was predeceased by a son Gerry and a brother, Jack O'Brien.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation.
Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
A memorial mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Philip Mulligan on Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 11 am at St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville.
Burial will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 8:30 pm.
Rhoda Wilson
The death of Rhoda Wilson, age 76, of Dorchester occurred Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the Villa Providence, Shediac.
Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Laura (McPhee) McFadden.
Rhoda was a member of the Dorchester Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son Stephen (Arene), Shediac, NB, a daughter, Dianne Anderson, Dorchester, 2 grandchildren Duane and David (Krista) Anderson and 3 great grandchildren Carolyn, Nicholas and Stephen.
She was predeceased by a daughter Sharon in 1948, her husband Garfield in 2001 and a brother Les.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Sunday from 7 to 9 pm.
The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 23, 2003 at 11 am, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating.
Burial in the Dorchester Cemetery.
