Robert (Bob) Harris
The death of Robert (Bob) Harris age 67 of Sackville occurred suddenly at his home on Tuesday, April 16, 2002.
Born in Campbellton, he was a son of the late Robert and Margaret (Sherrard) Harris.
Bob was a former employee with Lounsbury Co. he retired with over 40 years of service. A life time member of the Presbyterian Church of Canada, he was Clerk of Session and Elder at St. Andrew's in Sackville. Bob was the treasurer of the Saint John Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church, treasurer of the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation, a member of the Sackville Community Association, and long time active member of the Sackville/Amherst Gideon Camp. He was as well a trustee of the Sackville Cemetery
Co. and a member of the Tantramar Twirlers Square Dance Club.
Bob will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Sylvia Gentry, Sackville a son, Robert (Sharon), Truro, NS, 2 grandchildren
, Robert and Allison, 4 stepchildren, Michael Patterson, Jeffrey (Gail) Deibert-Patterson and Anne Patterson all of London, ON and Mary (Cameron) Linnell, Darwin, AUS., a brother, Gordon (Mona), Atholville, NB, a niece, Jane MacDonald and a nephew, Murray Harris. He was predeceased by his first wife Muriel.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville with visitation Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sackville on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 11 AM. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery. Donations to the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, the Sackville Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
Theodore (Ted) Duguay
The death of Theodore (Ted) Duguay, age 62, occurred Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the Dr. Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton.
Ted was employed as a factory worker for several years at the Botsford Fishery.
He is survived by his son Paul of Toronto; four brothers Louis and Francis of Shemogue, Ronald and Chloris of Port Elgin; four sisters Annie Duguay of Port Elgin, Florence Allen and Mary-Louise Benjamin of Shemogue and Donna Duguay of Edmonton, AB. He was predeceased by a brother, Abel.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. As there is no funeral service friends and relatives are invitied to a time of visitation on Friday, April 26, 2002 from 7 to 9 PM at the Club d'Age d'Or de Shemogue.
Carrie Beers
The death of Carrie Beers, age 89, of Sackville occurred suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 2, 2002.
Born in Bayfield, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (Dove) Grant.
Carrie was a teacher having taught 23 years at the Barnhill Memorial School, Saint John and was a member of the Saint John Branch of the retired teachers association. She was a member of the Sackville United Church and UCW.
Carrie will be sadly missed by her 3 sisters; Grace Johnson, Port Elgin, Mary Cawdle, Stratford, ON, and Madeline (Ellis) Goodwin of Mount Brydges, ON., 2 nieces and 3 nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest in 1960 and by an infant son Ernest.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. A memorial service and reception will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) at 11AM, Saturday, April 6, 2002, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John at a later date.
Joseph Gerard "Jerry" Boudreau
1923 - 2001
The death of Gerard "Jerry" Boudreau, age 78 of Dorchester, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Cap Pele, NB and raised by his grandparents, Dominique and Marie (Donelle) Boudreau, he was a son of the Late Claudia Boudreau-LeBlanc.
A pipe fitter and maintenance man, he retired to Dorchester after living in Scarborough, ON for 30 years. He was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville. A veteran of World War II, he served with the North Nova Scotia Highlanders, Canadian Army in Canada and Great Britain. He was a member of the Dorchester Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Jerry will be sadly missed by his daughter, Darlene (Dana) Holmes, Dorchester, his companion Margaret Madder, Dorchester, 2 brothers, Aurele (Peggy) LeBlanc, Moncton, and Joe (Bernadette) LeBlanc, Saint John, a sister Theresa (John) Garrett, North Bay, ON, 3 grandchildren, Miranda, Charles and Alan Dawson, all of Dorchester, his first wife Winnifred Bernard, Sackville, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his second wife May Wilson and his sister Clementine.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300) with visiting hours Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The Dorchester Branch # 16 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a memorial service Monday at 7:30. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home Monday at 8:30 conducted by Father Jeff Doucette. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at 11 AM. Burial in the St. Edward's Parish Cemetery, Dorchester.
Garfield Wilson
August 31, 1921 - February 9, 2001
The death of Garfield Wilson, age 79 of Dorchester, occurred suddenly at his home on Friday, February 9, 2001.
Born in Moncton he was a son of the Late Roy and Laura May (Wilbur) Wilson.
Garfield served with the RCAF during World War II in Europe. He was a former employee of Corrections Canada, serving from 1947 - 1976. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Garfield will be sadly missed by his wife the former Rhoda McFadden of Dorchester, a son, Stephen (Arene) Wilson, Cap Pele, NB, a daughter, Dianne Anderson of Dorchester, 2 sisters, Dorothy Horsman, Moncton and Rita (Reginald) Horsman, Steeves Mountain, 2 grandchildren, Duane and David (Krista) Anderson and 3 great grandchildren, Carolyn, Nicholas and Stephen, also a sister-in-law, Anita Wilson of Dieppe, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Sharon in 1948 and a brother Robert in 1994.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Sunday, February 11 from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 12, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Rick Marsters officiating. Burial in the Dorchester Cemetery

Ronald Dean MacGregor
August 26, 1953 - February 3, 2001
The death of Ron MacGregor, age 47 of Dorchester, occurred suddenly at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 3, 2001.
Born in Sackville, he was a son of Robert MacGregor of Fredericton and the late Lorna (Crossman) MacGregor.
He was a member of the 8th Canadian Hussars, C Squadron in Sackville for more than 20 years. He also coached minor baseball in Sackville for several years. He was a member of the Sackville Golf and Country Club and was an avid hunter. He loved working with computers and operated MacGregor's Computer Services. He was an employee with CNR for 22 years.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife the former Pauline Spence, of Dorchester, his son Dale (Tanya) of Springhill, 2 daughters Dawn (Brian) of Mississauga and Kerri-Lynn at home, 1 grandson Brandon, his father-in-law Garfield Spence and his wife Betty of Dorchester. Ron will also be sadly missed by Pauline's Brothers, Sisters and their families and his many friends and co-workers. He is also survived by a brother Robert of Ontario, a sister; Beverley of Sackville, and paternal grandparents Ian & Phyllis MacGregor of Sackville.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB (364-1300) on Wednesday, February 7, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Jamie Gripton officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Evangeline Marie Gallant
October 21, 1918 - February 10, 2001
The death of Evangeline Marie Gallant, age 82 of Melrose, NB occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Saturday, February 10, 2001, following a brief illness.
Born in Mann, QC, she was a daughter of the Late Adelard and Angela (Barthe) Wilmot.
Evangeline was a member of the St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, Melrose.
Evangeline will be sadly missed by 3 sons, Clement (Aline) and Ivon, both of Melrose, Raymond (Noella) of Moncton , 3 daughters, Eileen and Dianne, both of Melrose and Doris (Ken) Johnson, Moncton, a brother Clair (Florina) Wilmot, Riviere de Loup, QC, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special niece, Martha. She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond in 1954, 2 brothers, Raymond and George and 3 sisters, Eva, Brigitte and Georgina.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (364-1300) with visiting hours Monday from 7 to 9 and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 . The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church, Melrose on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at 11 AM, Rev. Father Daniel Bohan officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery in the spring. Donations to the St. Bartholomew's Cemetery
