Ashley K MacDonald
March 13, 1988 - February 10, 2002
The death of Ashley K MacDonald, age 13, of Dorchester, occurred at the Moncton City Hospital as the result of a Car Accident..
Born in Moncton, NB she was a daughter of Keith and Lucille (Landry) MacDonald.
She attended Dorchester Consolidated School, where she acted as Student Council President. She acted in the Drama Program, and was very active in the Salem Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School, working in the Nursery, the RTB Club, and anything else she could help with. She was a strong and faithful believer in God and His Son Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents she will be sadly missed by 2 sisters Jennifer and Melanie, both in Cambridge, ON, and 1 brother Deven, at home, her paternal great grandfather Arnold MacDonald, Amherst, paternal grandmother Doris MacDonald, Dorchester, maternal grandmother Florence Landry, Moncton, many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased in 2001 by grandfathers: Elmer MacDonald and Thomas Landry.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB 364-1300 on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM, and Wednesday from 2 to 4. The funeral will take place at Salem Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 7 PM, Burial will take place in the Dorchester Cemetery
in the spring. The family has requested donations be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or the Salem Baptist Church.
Keith Murray
The death of Keith Murray, 83, of Sackville, occurred at his home on Saturday, February 23, 2002.
Born at Murray Road, NB he was a son of the late Fred and Nina (Davidson) Murray. During WWII he served overseas from 1940 to 1946 as a member of the #3 R.C.E.M.E. For 24 years he worked in the automotive industry. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Keith will be fondly remembered by his 3 brothers; Lorne of Port Elgin, James (Maxine) of Miramichi, Kenneth (Evelyn) of Williams Lake, BC, 2 sisters; Lois Murray and May Doherty, both of Toronto, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ruby and 2 brothers Hugh and Raymond.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home (70 Bridge St, Sackville, 364-1300) with visiting hours on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 from 1 until the time of the funeral at 2 PM, Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial will take place in the spring.
Shirley Maxwell
The death of Shirley Maxwell, 68, of Sackville, occurred on Friday, February 22, 2002 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Sackville, she was a daughter of the late Nettie Maxwell.Shirley was very active with the special populations in Sackville.
The last surviving member of her family she will be sadly missed by several cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her sister Leta Lines in 1989.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, (70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB 364-1300) with visiting hours on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 25, 2002 at 2 PM, Pastor Barry Todd officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery
in the spring.
Lloyd Johnson
The death of Lloyd Johnson, 71, of Dorchester, occurred suddenly at his home on Sunday, February 24, 2002.
Born in Webb, Saskatchewan he was a son of Wilhelmina (Hepky) of Lindsey, ON, and the late George Johnson. He was employed with NBTel for 38 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, an avid hunter and gardener.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife the former Margaret Read of Dorchester, 1 son Larry, Toronto, and 1 daughter Peggy (Bill) Richardson, Dorchester, 6 grandchildren; Amanda, J.R. (William), Ryan, Samantha, Nicole and Justin, 4 brothers, Douglas, Lindsey, ON, Ian, Toronto, Keith, Sackville, Garnet (Dianne), Miramichi, 1 sister Dorothy (Charles) Norcross, Ottawa.
He was predeceased by his son Scott (1988), and 1 brother Graham (1977).
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home (70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB 364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral will take place Thursday, February 28, 2002 at 2 PM, Pastor Cecil Symes officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton.
Danny (DD) Blackett
The death of Danny (DD) Blackett, 74, of Sackville passed away on Friday, February 22, 2002 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Little Pond, PEI, he was a son of the late Daniel and Marie (Saviton) Blackett.
He will be sadly missed by his wife the former Linda Lewis of Sackville, 2 sons; Daniel Jr., Riverview, John (Tammy), Riverview, 5 daughters; Judy, Moncton, Sheila (Garnet), Riverglade, Brenda (Ralph), Salisbury, Darlene (Denis), Memramcook, Cindy (Chris), Sackville, 16 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Milton, Sussex, Lloyd, Sussex, Ross, PEI, 2 sisters; Bertha, Weymouth, NS, Joyce, PEI, several nieces and nephews, and daugheter-in-law Wendy.
He was predeceased by sons David and Charles, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Arrangements are in care of Jones Funeral Home (70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB, 364-1300). A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place with his family in PEI. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, or the donor's choice.
Rudolph (Rudy) Urban
The death of Rudolph (Rudy) Urban, age 97 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 28, 2002.
Born in Kiel, Germany , he was the eldest son of the Late Rudolph and Emma (Meyer) Urban.
A gardener, Rudy was well known in the Sackville area for his horticultural abilities.
Rudy is survived by a brother, Carl of Montreal, a sister Helga Nichols of Morristown, NS, six nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Minnie and a brother Walter Urban of Avonport, NS.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 11AM, Rev. John Kiehn officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery.
Laura Maxwell
The death of Laura Maxwell, age 79 of Bedford and Halifax, NS occurred suddenly at the Northwood Care Nursing Home, Halifax on Tuesday, April 9, 2002.
Born in Florence, Cape Breton, NS she was a daughter of the Late Abe and Mary (MacDonald) MacLeod. Laura was a member of the Bedford Senior Citizens and the Bedford United Church.
Laura will be sadly missed by her 2 sons; William (Bill) Ottawa and Donald, Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Bill Maxwell, sister Christina and brothers John and Donald.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin (506-364-1300) with visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 2 PM Rev. Carolyn Byers officiating. Interment in the Baie Verte Cemetery.
Emily Harvey
The death of Emily Harvey, age 91, formerly of East Ship Harbour, NS occurred suddenly at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville on Tuesday, April 23, 2002.
Born in East Ship Harbour and a lifelong resident, she was a daughter of the Late Azariah and Mary (Webb) DeWolfd.
She is survived by one son, Darrell (Marguerite) Harvey, Sackville, 3 grandchildren, Donna, Kevin and Darin and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, brothers and sisters, Ethel, Harold, Dolly, Arnold, Leo, Marion, Cyril and Clarence.
The remains have been forwarded for cremation. A memorial mass will be held at Saint Dennis Roman Catholic Church, East Ship Harbour on Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 10 AM. Burial in the parish cemetery. Arrangements in care of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).
