Doreen Bembridge Snowdon

The death of Doreen Bembridge Snowdon, age 81 occurred on Sunday, December 16, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of the late George and Susie (Goodwin) Bembridge.
Doreen and her husband Roy ran a country store for a number of years. She also worked at the Sackville Laundry. She was a member of the Wood Point Baptist Church, having lived in Wood Point for many years and the Drew Nursing Home for the last 4.
Doreen will be sadly missed by her children; 6 daughters, Eileen (Fred) Estabrooks and Donna Snowdon, both of Sackville, Barbara (Jack) Siddall, Wood Point, Marilyn (Roger) Richard, Oshawa, ON, Susan (Jim) Hennessy, Bathurst, NB and Bonnie Snowdon, Guatemala, 2 sons, David, Halifax and Michael (Isobel), Sackville, 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 1992 and was the last surviving member of her immediate family being predeceased by brothers, Art, Ken, John, Ralph, Ray and Harold and sisters, Lucy, Sue, Kelly and Grace.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville with visitation Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 19, 2001 at 2 PM, Pastor John Kiehn officiating. Burial in the Westcock Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Drew Nursing Home or a charity of the donor's choice.
Devona (Bonnie) O'Connell
The death of Devona (Bonnie) O'Connell occurred at the Gables Nursing Home, Amherst, NS on Friday, December 28, 2001.
Born in Port Elgin, she was a daughter of the Late Michael and Annie (Chapman) O'Connell.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Her remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St. Sackville (364-1300) from where the funeral service will be held on Monday, December 31, 2001 at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be held from 10 AM until the time of the funeral. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin in the spring.
Susan Elaine Corkery
1948-2001
Susan Elaine Corkery, 52, of Blue Rocks, Lunenburg County, N. S. and formerly of Port Elgin, died peacefully, Wednesday, July 25, 2001 at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born in Hampton, N.B. she was the daughter of Irene N. (Gillis) Bettle of Hampton, N.B. and the late Gerald A. Bettle.
Susan has been an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a woman of bountiful love. She taught at Port Elgin Memorial for three years and the rest of her career was spent at Tantramar Regional High. Susan enjoyed every ounce of life God gave her and fought hard to hold on to it. She was always devoted to her family and had a special relationship to her grandchildren. She will now watch over us from a better place.
She was a member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, where she was secretary of the church council and a representative on the Regional Church Council.
She is survived by her mother Irene Bettle of Hampton, N.B.; her husband Pat of Blue Rocks; daughters Mary Jocelyn and her husband Pat Kennerson of Port Elgin; Gillian Neilson and partner Sean Patterson of Halifax; Elaine Neilson of Port Elgin; step-daughter Jeannine Corkery of Halifax; sisters Marilyn and her husband Larry Lachapelle of Hampton; Dorothy and husband Phillip Knight of Quispamsis; Heather and her husband Dale Allen of Port Elgin; brothers Bill and his wife Jaqueline Bettle; Michael and his wife Deborah Bettle; and John and his wife Jayne Bettle all of Hampton; and 2 grandchildren Patrick and Brett Ann Susan Kennerson.
She was predeceased by her father Gerald; brother David and sister Linda Cameron.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg and Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin. Susan's life will be celebrated by services Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Blue Rocks, N.S. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin. Burial will be at a later date in Hampton, N.B.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society
Henry Fagan

Henry Fagan, age 89 years, passed away at his home in Port Elgin, NB on Monday, July 23, 2001.
Born in Port Elgin, NB on August 12, 1911, he was a son of George and Minnie (Cormier) Fagan.
He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his wife, the former Mabel Cormier of Port Elgin, 1 son George of Port Elgin, 3 daughters Maria (Ronald) Fagan of Port Elgin, Leona (Alexander) Guthreau of Port Elgin, and Jean MacLeod of Angus, ON, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation or funeral service held at this time. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Sackville (364-1300).
David Fawcett
July 17, 2001
David Fawcett, age 59 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the Sackville Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Truro, NS on January 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Carman and Gretchen (Hanson) Fawcett.
Graduating from Truro Agricultural College in 1960, he was a fourth generation farmer on his family homestead. A 1970 graduate of the New Brunswick Community College, he was an electrician employed at Sackville Memorial Hospital for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1998. David spent his last cherished days looking out onto Silver Lake with his wife Judy.
He will be sadly missed and always remembered by his mother Gretchen, Sackville, his wife Judy (Dunlop), Sackville, one son John (Kimberley) of Lower Sackville, NS, 4 daughters Cheryl (James) Mosher of Sackville, NB, Carol (Andre) Hebert of Lower Sackville, NS, Laura Fawcett, Sackville, NB, Catherine Fawcett, Sackville, NB, 1 sister Kathryn (Eugene) Lewis of Fredericton, NB, 2 grandchildren Matthew Mosher and Elizabeth Hebert, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The remains are resting at Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Upper Sackville United Church on Thursday, July 19, 2001 at 2 PM. Burial at the Four Corners Cemetery. Donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.
Jessie Noiles

Jessie Noiles, age 90, widow of Walter Noiles, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home on Monday, July 30, 2001.
Born in Boundary Creek, NB on July 9, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Carrie (Jonah) Jonah.
A former resident of Amherst, NS, she was a retired store clerk, having worked at Margolians and Shopper's Drug Mart. She retired to People's Park Tower where she enjoyed 20 years of active participation in many activities. She was also a member of the Pearl Rebekah Lodge, Moncton.
She will be sadly missed and always remembered by her son Edward (Dorothy) Noiles of Amherst, NS, 2 daughters Erma (Forester) Black of Point de Bute, NB and Linda (Donald) Ayer of Moncton, NB, 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1984, brother Maylin, sister Mabel, two infant sons and a great grandson Darren.
The remains are resting at Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at 11 AM, Rev. Barry Todd officiating. Burial at the Boundary Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
