Vivian (Tib) Skeldon
The death of Vivian (Tib) Skeldon, age 79 of Dorchester occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 19, 2003.
Born in Riverview, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Harriett (Breed) Chappell. Very involved in community affairs, she was an active member of the Dorchester United Church, the UCW, Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion and volunteered for many years in the Girl Guides.
Tib will be sadly missed by her 5 daughters, Norma Samuelsen and family of Dartmouth, NS, Carol Hartt and family of Fredericton Jct., NB, Marilyn Forbes & family of Barrington, RI, USA, Wendy and John Garnhum and family of Dartmouth, NS and Janice Skeldon of Powell River, BC, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and a sister Edna Bulmer, Moncton. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Skeldon in 1998 and by 4 sisters, Constance, Kathleen, Irene and Violet and by a brother George.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Monday from 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 3 PM, Rev. Margaret Outerbridge officiating. Burial in the spring.
Ralph Trenholm
The death of Ralph Trenholm, age 74 of Port Elgin occurred suddenly on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at his home.
Born in Port Elgin, he was a son of Delilah (Larsen) Trenholm and the late Alton Trenholm. A 30 year employee with the Dept of Highways, he retired in 1990. Ralph was an active volunteer with the Red Cross and an avid Maple Leaf fan.
Ralph will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Florence Legere, Port Elgin, his mother Delilah Trenholm, Port Elgin, 2 sons, Randy (Frances), Moncton and Danny (Lori), Riverview, 2 grandchildren, Adam and Megan, 3 brothers, Donald (Doris), Robert (Linda) and Florin (Dewey) (Lillian), all of Port Elgin and a sister Helen (Stuart) Burke, Port Elgin.
Ralph's family will be receiving friends at the Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin on Sunday January 26, 2003 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 27, 2003 at 2 PM, Rev. Jay Ettinger officiating. Burial will be in the spring.
Arthur C. Ward
June 15, 1919 - February 6, 2003
The death of Arthur C. Ward occurred on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, NB.
Born in Woodpoint, NB, he was a son of the late Amos and Daisy (Read) Ward.
Arthur was a veteran of the second world war. Throughout his life he worked as a carpenter, and spent some years at the foundry. He truly enjoyed spending time in the woods felling trees.
He will be fondly remembered by his wife Leonille (Richardson), 4 sons; Irvan (Connie), Frosty Hollow, Wallace (Yvette), Bedford, NS, Amos, West Sackville, Evan (Shannon), Red Deer, Alberta, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and 2 step-grandchildren, 1 brother Don, British Settlement, 2 sisters Agnes Estabrooks, Sackville, and Shirley White, Digby, NS.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2003 at 2 pm, Pastor John Kiehn officiating, at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB (364-1300). There will be no time of visitation at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor's choice would be appreciated.
Maurice Babylas Renaud
1913 - 2001
The death of Maurice Renaud occurred at the Moncton, NB George Dumont Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2001.
He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte (Gutthoff) of 47 years, a daughter Charlotte Marie, he was also predeceased by a sister Anne Marie (Avril).
Born in Les Sables d'Olonnes, France, he was the son of the Late Edward and Marie (Tesson) Renaud.
A veteran of World War II in the French Navy. He was a mechanic at the Iron Company of Canada in Sept-Iles Quebec where he retired at the age of 65.
Maurice will be sadly missed by his children Christiane (Lemenan) Sept-Iles Quebec, Albert Renaud, Keswick Ontario, Mauricette (Hiscock) Thompson Manitoba, Jacqueline (MacNichol) Dorchester New Brunswick, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a sister Marguerite (Guyot).
His remains will be brought to Sept-Iles, Quebec so that he may be buried beside his Beloved wife on the 30 June 2001.
Frederic Leonard Rutledge
April 22, 2001
The death of Fred Rutledge, age 70, of Port Elgin occured suddenly at the Moncton City Hospital on Sunday, April 22, 2001.
Born in Dorchester, he was a son of the late Edward and Olivia (Tucker) Rutledge.
A former employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs , he was an embassy aid in Ottawa and New York. He served 5 years in the Canadian Navy.
Fred is survived by 2 brothers, Ronald (Thelma Lucci), Port Elgin and Wendell, Lombardy, ON, 2 sisters, Marjorie (Owen) Evans, Dollard des Ormeaux, PQ and Marie (Grady) Barker, Cooper Landing, Alaska, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Douglas, Chester and Vincent and a sister Irene.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, (364-1300) with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 25, 2001 at 11 AM. Burial in the Amherst Cemetery
later in the spring.
Donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Association would be appreciated by the family.
Catherine Mary Sears
March 17, 1939 - April 11, 2001
The death of Catherine Sears , age 62, of Sackville, occurred Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sackville she was a daughter of Femina (Boudreau) Bourque and the late Patrick Bourque.
Catherine was a 15 year employee with the Sackville Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Sackville and a square dancer belonging to the Tantramar Twirlers Square Dancers.
Catherine will be sadly missed by her mother Femina Bourque of Sackville, her son; Danny (Haidee), and daughter Melissa (Robert) Cormier both of Sackville, 4 brothers, Ronald (Anita) of Moncton, Robert (Linda), Charles (Heather), and Yvon (Charlene) all of Sackville, 2 sisters; Mary (Alex) Chase of Sackville, and Jeanne (Wade) Cook of Toronto, and 3 grandchildren; Samuel, Jordan and Benjamin.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church, Sackville on Monday, April 16, 2001 at 11 AM, Father Jeff Doucette officiating. Burial in the Parish Cemetery
at a later date. All are invited to a prayer vigil at the funeral home on Sunday at 8:30 PM.

Mabel Gertrude Ward
February 14, 1909 - April 25, 2001
The death of Mabel Ward, age 92, of Sackville occurred at the Drew Nursing Home on Wednesday, April 25, 2001.
Born in New Waterford, NS she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Isabella (Robertson) MacKay.
Mabel was a member of the Sackville United Church, the UCW and the Salvation Army Home League. She was a former employee of Mount Allison University.
She is survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Elsie and Gladys MacKay of New Glasgow, NS and by several nieces and nephews. Mabel was predeceased by her husband Percy, and being the last surviving member of her immediate family she was predeceased by sisters, Anna and Danella and brothers Edward, Dunbar and John W.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (364-1300). The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 28, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to a time of visitation to be held on Saturday from 1 PM until the time of the funeral.
