Fred Henry Amos
1918 - 2001
The death of Fred Amos, age 82 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 9, 2001.
Born in Second Westcock, he was a son of the Late Henry and Grace (Wheaton) Amos.
A veteran of World War II he was a carpenter for many years working on numerous projects in the Sackville and Moncton area. He retired from the Dorchester Penitentiary at the age of 70.
The last surviving member of his immediate family Fred will be sadly missed by his children, Pat (Greg) Estabrooks, Dave (Linda), Al (Jean), Brian (Linda), Debbie (Ralph Mitton), Kathy (Jamie Robinson) all of Sackville, and Gary (Kim) of Oshawa, ON , 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a life-long friend Harry Chambers.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Shirley (Scott) , an infant son and a daughter Judith Lynn, he was also predeceased by a sister Eliza (Cummings) and a brother Floyd.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visitation Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Main Street Baptist Church on Thursday, April 12, 2001 at 2 PM. Rev. Barry Todd and Pastor Hugh Davidson officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery
in the spring.

Rosslynn (Lynn) Andrews
April 21, 1952 - April 4, 2001
The death of Rosslynn (Lynn) Andrews, age 48, of Sackville occurred following a lengthy illness on Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Sydney, NS, she was a daughter of the Late Ross and Marjorie (Jordan) Andrews.
A 30 year employee with the Royal Bank of Canada, she was an animal lover and horseowner. She was a member of the Baie Verte Pony Club and various other organizations
Lynn will be sadly missed by 2 brothers, Bill (Kathy) Andrews, Sackville and Todd Andrews, Banff, AB, a nephew, Ross and a niece Karla, 2 aunts, Evelyn Spencer, and Roberta Jordan, both of Sydney, NS, and an uncle Sydney (Jean) Jordan of Ontario.
There will be no visitation, Lynn's remains have been forwarded for cremation. A memorial service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) on Saturday, April 7, 2001 at 2 PM, Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Burial in the Sackville Cemetery
at a later date.
Friends are invited to the memorial service followed by a time of fellowship in the reception room of the Jones Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
Elmer Thomas Hicks
March 28, 1914 - March 30, 2001
The death of Elmer Hicks, age 87 of Sackville occurred at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 30, 2001.
Born in Midgic, he was a son of the Late John and Minnie (Babcock) Hicks.A former employee of the CNR, he retired after 55 years of service. He was a member of the Midgic Baptist Church and the Brotherhood of the Main Street Baptist Church. Active in the community he was well known as a Boy Scout Leader, Canadian Air Cadet Leader and a St. John Ambulance volunteer being a charter member and long time Superintendent of the Sackville Branch #451, having also driven the ambulance for 17 years, he held the position of Officer Brother at the time of his death. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman.
He will be sadly missed by his wife the former Amy Cole, Sackville, a son, Russell (Adele) of Brantford ON, 4 daughters; Doris (Harris) Chapman Burlington, ON, Madeline Davies of Oakville ON, Nettie (Douglas) Beaton and Arvella (Jerry) Cormier, both of Amherst NS, 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Jessie (Sidney) Mills and Amy Allen, both of Oshawa ON, and Janie MacNaughton of Galt ON . He was predeceased by a son Norman and brothers Walter and Arnold.
The remains are resting at the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (364-1300) with visiting hours Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 1, 2001 at 2 PM., Rev. David Roy officiating. Burial in the Midgic Cemetery
in the spring.

Eva Brown
March 3, 2001
The death of Eva Brown (nee Phinney) occurred peacefully at Belleville, Ontario on Saturday, March 3rd, in her 86th year.
She was a daughter of the Late Ross and Jemima Phinney.
Loving wife of the late Earl Brown. Dear mother of Alan and his wife Toni and cherished grandmother of Jennifer and Anne Brown all of Belleville. Mrs. Brown is also survived by her sisters, Cavell Mesheau, Ruby Ayer and Connie Carter, and brothers Ross (Jim), Otis and Kenneth (Bill), all of Sackville. Predeceased by brothers Donald and Jerry.

Frank Dobson
1922 - 2001
The death of Frank Dobson, age 78, of Amherst occurred at the Highland View Hospital on Sunday, March 4, 2001.
Born in Jolicure he was a son of the late Robert and Odessa (Copp) Dobson
Prior to his retirement Frank was employed as an assemblyman with GM Oshawa, ON. He was an outdoorsman, interested in gardening, hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife the former Nonie (Minerva) Marr, of Amherst he is sadly missed by 2 brothers, Roy, Lindsay, ON and Ora, Oshawa, ON, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Beulah and Isla and a brother Cecil.
