Jean Murray
Jean Murray, 66 of Toronto, Ont., formerly of West River, Albert County, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Toronto East General Hospital.
Born in Moncton she was the daughter of Marion (Kennie) Shannon and the late William Shannon.
She is survived by her mother Marion of Riverside-Albert; children Gina Murray and Stuart Murray of Toronto; brothers Billy (Cheryl), George, Danny (Carol), Philip (Wanda); sisters Marion Rae (Jim) and Dianne Russell; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from the Harvey Baptist Church on Wednesday 7-9 pm. and from where the funeral will be held Thursday, 2 pm. with Rev. Jack Allan officiating.
Interment will be at Bayview Cemetery.
Memorials if desired to a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

Evelyn May Smith
Evelyn May Smith, 91, of the Jordan Lifecare Center and formerly Salisbury passed away peacefully on Saturday July 12, 2008 at her residence.
Born in Salisbury she was the wife of the late Earle F. Smith and the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary (Bleakney) Campbell.
Evelyn spent most of her life giving her time and talents to help make her community a better place.
She assisted at monthly Public Health Baby Clinics for 39 years; volunteered at the Public Library; served as President and Secretary of the former Salisbury Women’s Institute; was a former board member and secretary of Pine Hill Cemetery
Inc. and a member of the Westmorland Co. Children’s Aid Society for many years.
She was also Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Canadian Legion Branch # 31; helped to organize the Salisbury Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society and was Campaign Chairperson for Salisbury and surrounding area for 40 years and was also the Memorial Chairperson.
She served as Clerk-Treasurer for the Salisbury Local Improvement District and Incorporated Village for 25 years.
In 1977 she received the Governor-General’s Medal for Community Service and was honoured by the Village of Salisbury for 45 years of Community Service in 1989.
She will be sadly missed by her son Rand (Carolyn); grandchildren Shelley Jones (Edward), Christine Smith all of Salisbury and Scott (Kelly) of Lower Coverdale; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Survived also by sisters Grace Grills, Belleville On., Veta Westcott (Gene), Havelock On., Jean Gourley (Ernest), River Glade, Joyce Prosser, Salisbury; brothers John Campbell (Kaye), Sussex, Jerry Campbell (Diane), River Glade.
Predeceased by her parents; husband Earle; sisters Madeline Crandall, Marguerite Aylward, Geraldine Cormier; brother Robert Campbell.
Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) with visiting Monday 7-9 p.m. and from where the service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday July 15 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Mark Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery.
Memorials if desired to the Canadian Cancer Society, Jordan Lifecare Center or Pine Hill Cemetery
would be appreciated.
Robert Orland Black
1925-2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Orland Black.
He went to be with his Lord on July 10th, 2008 at the Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton.
Born on October 25th, 1925, Robert worked on the family farm in Salem, NB until his move to Fredericton in 1953.
He was the son of the late Orland and Edna (nee Thorne) Black and was married 52 years to the late Florence (Keith), daughter of Ora and Annie Keith of Havelock NB.
He moved his family to Fredericton in 1953 to take a position in sales at Margolians Clothing Store.
A few years later, he took the position of Manager of Chippin's Clothing Store, where he remained until his retirement in 1987.
Robert enjoyed life to the fullest and had good health until recent years.
He was a member of the Wesleyan Church.
Robert’s great faith kept him going through any hard times right to his death.
His favourite saying was “keep smilin”.
He loved to work in his garden and enjoyed his many flowers.
His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his many friends and relatives were his delight.
He loved their visits and enjoyed knowing what was going on in their lives.
Robert’s family and many friends can attest to his loyalty and great generosity, which will never be forgotten.
He created many great memories that will be in hearts forever.
Robert is survived by his daughter … Reta (Jim) Curtis of Fredericton (who he resided with for the past year), son, Keith (Michelle) Black of Calgary, Alberta; brother … Victor (Edith) Black of Sussex, NB; five grandchildren … Shelley (Jacques) Godin, Dale (Liane) Curtis and Tracey (Marty) Mockler, Benjamin Murphy (Becky) and Braydon Black; three great-grandchildren … Alexandra, Marcail and Isaac Curtis; step-grandchildren Carson, Tyler and Malika.
Also survived by Son-in-law Doug Murphy (Gail) of Moncton, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Harley and Gwendolyn Keith, Salisbury NB and sister-in-law, Ruth Black of Boston, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, and his wife Florence, Robert was predeceased by his grandson … Jeremy Murphy, daughter Marsha Murphy, sister Muriel Mitton, brother-in-law Vaughn Mitton, and brother Leslie Black.
Visitation will take place at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Sunday, July 13th, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel on Monday July 14th at 2 pm. with Pastor Nick Graham and Rev. Leslie Hicks Officiating.
A reception will follow.
Interment at the Greenhill Cemetery, Havelock.
Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Parkinson Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Gordon Douthwright
Gordon Nelson Douthwright, 76, of the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton and formerly River Glade passed away Tuesday July 1, 2008 at the home.
Born at Little River he was a son of the late Nelson and Ada (Hopper) Douthwright.
Gordon retired from the Colpitts Waddy Farm.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survived by sisters Dorothy Morrisey, Salisbury, Virginia Lewis, Colpitts Sett.; brothers Orville Davis, Salisbury, Reginald Davis, Fredericton, Fred Davis, Colpitts Sett., Robert Douthwright, Salisbury, Richard Douthwright, Kenora On. and by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Marion (Bannister); brothers Harold Davis and Owen Douthwright and a sister Greta Douthwright.
Visitation at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Thursday 7-9 p.m. and from where the Funeral will be Friday July 4 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Shawn Kehoe officiating. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery, Moncton.
Memorials to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital would be appreciated.
