Carol Ann Comeau
1939-2011
Peacefully following a brief illness, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on February 9, 2011, Mrs. Carol Ann (Johnson) Comeau, wife of Mr. Joseph A. Comeau of Pocologan NB. Born at Fitchburg MA on March 19, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Ann (Koski) Johnson. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband, Joseph, she is survived by four sons; John Percival of Fitchburg MA, Wayne Percival of Florida, Allan Percival of Fitchburg MA and Richard Percival of Ashburnham MA, five grandchildren, one brother, John (Irodele) Johnson of Fitchburg MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was predeceased by one brother, Richard Johnson.
Carol was a friendly spirit who was loved by all. She loved crocheting and was an avid animal lover. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Heaven’s Gate Gospel Church, Seeleys Cove NB.
Resting at Heaven’s Gate Gospel Church, Seeleys Cove NB, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A time of Remembrance will be held at the church on Friday at 8 pm. Interment will be held at Woodside Cemetery, Westminster MA on February 15, 2011. In Carol’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Joan Mary Kinney
1947-2011
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 22, 2011, Ms. Joan Mary Kinney, companion of Mr. Burton Bayers of Pennfield NB. Born at St. Stephen NB on October 3, 1947, she was a daughter to Willis Kinney and the late Lillian (Robbins) Kinney. A loving companion, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister, in addition to her companion, Burton, she is survived by one son, Danny Hatt (Louisa Madsen) of St. Stephen NB, step children; Randy Bayers of Beaver Harbour NB, Connie (Kirby) Harvey of Stewiacke NS and Lisa (Stephen) Dahr of Dartmouth NS, several grandchildren and great grandchildren including special granddaughter, Kylee Bayers, her father, Willis (Loreen) Kinney of Clifton Royal NB, two brothers; Allan (Brenda) Kinney of St. George NB and Mark (Ann) Kinney of Canal NB, one sister, Joyce Cochrane of Browns Flats NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to her retirement Joan worked various jobs, having been employed at the Bank of Nova Scotia, St. George NB and Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews NB. She was an avid gardener who loved to do yard work. She enjoyed cooking and spending as much time as she could with her granddaughter and family.
As keeping with her request, there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Friday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Grant Alcorn and Rev. Canon Keith Osborne officiating. The interment will take place at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery
in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory to the Liver Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Martina Mary Brennan
1932-2011
Peacefully at her residence, on February 24, 2011, Mrs. Martina Mary (Desroches) Brennan, wife of Mr. John W. Brennan of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Rivière-du-Portage NB on August 24, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Frédêric and Madeleine (Legere) Desroches. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, in addition to her husband John, she is survived by two sons; Frederick Brennan (Leta Hanley) of St. George NB and Patrick (Tammie) Brennan of Bonny River NB, four grandchildren; M. Amber Simpson (Kenny Storey) of Saint John NB, Ryan (Amelie) Brennan of Dieppe NB, Nicholas Brennan (Sarah Cook) of Sussex NB and Jarrod Brennan of Manitouwadge ON, five great grandchildren; Isabelle, Dylan John, Riley, Shelley and Brody, two brothers; Raymond (Lilianne) Desroches of Juniper NB and Aurele (Mayza) Desroches of Saint-Pons NB, two sisters; Exilda (Hubert) Roussell of Juniper NB and Irene (Holmes) Hant of Rivière-du-Portage NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Martina was predeceased by her parents; Frédêric and Madeleine, her step mother, Delima Haché, brothers; Aurele, Vincent, Alphonse, Stanley and Lionel and by her sisters; Eugenie Landry and Marie-Blanche McGraw.
In the 1950’s, Martina moved to Blacks Harbour NB to work for AMA McLean and prior to her retirement she was employed at Connor Bros, Warehouse Division in the Labeling Room and at the Blacks Harbour Arena Canteen. After her retirement, she loved to spend time with her family, especially at Christmas and her family and friends loved to sample her great cooking. She enjoyed watching the Golden Girls, listening to music, especially Daniel O’Donnell and liked to play Bingo and to catch up with her friends. She will be missed by all her family and many friends.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB with visiting on Satruday from 7-9 pm and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour NB on Monday, February 28, 2011 at 11:00 am with Father Rolando Suplido officiating. The interment will take place at the parish cemetery in the spring. In Martina’s memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, the Eastern Charlotte Extra Mural Program or Spiritual Bouquets would be appreicated by the family.
Lorena Doris Kernighan
1946-2011
At the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on February 24, 2011, Mrs. Lorena Doris Kernighan, wife of Mr. George W. Kernighan of Back Bay NB. Born at Back Bay NB on September 8, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Doris (Leslie) Hooper. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, in addition to her husband George, she is survived by two daughters; Florence Waycott of Back Bay NB and Mary Beth Kernighan also of Back Bay NB, four grandchildren; Quintin, Natalie, Tristin and Savannaha and several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Prior to her illness, Lorena worked for many years as a Home Support worker. In her spare time she loved to talk on the phone to her friend, Doris, or spend her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lorena was known as a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and many friends. She was a member of the Seaview Full Gospel Church, Back Bay NB.

Jeffrey Nelson Ryan
1973-2011
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on March 8, 2011, Mr. Jeffrey Nelson Ryan of Pocologan NB. Born at Blacks Harbour NB on May 14, 1973, he was a son of Mr. Nelson Ryan and the late Mrs. Margaret (Boyd) Ryan. A loving father, son, brother and nephew, he is survived by two daughters; Rebecca Flint and Cathleen Flint both of Saint John NB, his father, Nelson of Pocologan NB, three brothers; Wayne Boyd (Theresa) of British Columbia, Shawn Ryan and Jamie Ryan both of Pennfield NB and by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeffrey was predeceased by his mother, Margaret.
Jeffrey was a hands on type of guy who worked as a Clam Harvester. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to both hunt and fish. He will be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel from the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reg Ward officiating.No visiting hours will be held at the funeral home. The interment will take place at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery
in the spring. In Jeffrey’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Craig Matheson
1932-2011
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on Sunday March 6, 2011, Mr. S. Craig Matheson, beloved husband of Arleen M. (Ingersoll) Matheson of Pennfield NB. Born at Cherry Valley PEI on May 6, 1932 he was a son of the late Furness and Grace (Jenkins) Matheson. A loving husband and brother Craig is survived by his wife Arleen, one brother Lawrence of Truro NS and several nieces and nephews.
Prior to his retirement, Craig worked for Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour NB as a Distribution Manager for 43 years until he retired in 1994. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
At Craigs request, there will be no visiting or service at this time. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.
Gary Edward Tidd
1947-2011
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on March 7, 2011, Mr. Gary Edward Tidd, husband of Mrs. Cindy (Anderson) Tidd of Blacks Harbour NB. Born at Middleton NS on July 1, 1947, he was a son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Hatt) Tidd. A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife Cindy, he is survived by two daughters; Melinda (Terry) Harris of Pennfield NB and Carrie (Kalvin) Hall of Blacks Harbour NB, three sons; Darrell Tidd (Tammy Fowler) of Moncton NB, Randy Tidd (Wendy Christie) and Christopher (Erica) Blanchard both of Blacks Harbour NB, 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, one brother, Phillip (Donna) Crosby of Basswood Ridge NB, one sister, Margaret (Lee) Frestman of Oregon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Prior to his retirement, Gary worked for Connors Bros at Blacks Harbour NB for 49 years in the Maintenance Department where he made lifelong friends who he missed dearly after his leaving. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, especially when his buddies came along. He was a true family man who loved his children and grandchildren more than they could ever know and during gatherings he was known as the family cook. Gary was a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he took part in many of their fundraisers. He was also a member of the Blacks Harbour Village Council and former member of the Pennfield Lions Club. His very giving soul will never be forgotten and will be missed by many.
