Norrine Leah Miner
Peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on January 10, 2003, Mrs. Norinne Leah (Richardson) Miner wife of John F. Miner of Lambert’s Cove, N.B. Born on Deer Island on June 8, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Fern (Lord) Richardson. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Norinne is survived by her husband John, one daughter: Mary Ellen (Peter) Stevens of Wellington, N.S., three sons: John (Lisa) Miner of Deer Island, Leonard Miner (Gisele Landry) of Moncton, N.B., Philip Miner of Deer Island, five grandchildren: Danielle and Drew Stevens, and Mike, Blake, and Lauren Miner, three sisters: Eleanor Thurber of Oromocto, N.B., Maxine Young (Raymond) and Cathy (Don) Stuart both of Deer Island, one brother: Dale (Lucy) Richardson of St. Stephen, N.B., one uncle: Ralph (Helena) Richardson of Deer Island, two aunts: Marjorie Jacobs of Vermont and Mary Stuart of Deer Island, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Dean Richardson.
Norinne was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading and classical music. An avid birdwatcher, she loved nature. In her earlier years, she enjoyed knitting. She was a member of the Lords Cove Church of Christ. From where the service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. followed by the interment in the Fairhaven Community Cemetery
at Calder’s Head. Visiting at the Church on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m. For those who wish donations to the Arthritis Society, Kidney Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Milton Iona Hatt
Peacefully at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, on March 29, 2003, Mr. Milton Iona Hatt, husband of the late Josephine (Cook) Hatt of Letang, NB. Born in Letang, NB on December 28, 1913, he was a son of the late Samuel and Ida Mae (Leavitt) Hatt.
Milton is survived by two brothers, Henry Hatt of Letang, Eldon Hatt of Cornwall, Ontario; four sisters, Annie (Allen) Whirty of Old Ridge, NB, Lillian Thorne of Canal, NB, Alberta (Hilton) Hanley of Back Bay, Geraldine Barry of Caithness, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by seven brothers and five sisters.
Milton was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed working in his yard and in his woodshop. At his request, there is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Thursday at 3 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 2 pm till service time at the chapel. Interment in the St.George Rural Cemetery. In Milton’s memory, donations may be made to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements in the care of St. George Funeral Service Ltd. Thelma Pauline Leavitt
At Blacks Harbour, NB on March 4, 2003, Mrs. Thelma Pauline (Wright) Leavitt, wife of the late Watson Leavitt of Blacks Harbour, NB.
Born in Beaver Harbour, NB on August 21, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Grovenor and Dora (Justason) Wright.
A loving mother and grandmother, Thelma is survived by two daughters, Pauline Beney of Sudbury, Ontario, Linda, Mrs. Terence Wright, of Lower Sackville, N.S.; one granddaughter, Judith Fudge of Elliot Lade, Ontario; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frederick of Lake Elgin, Ontario and Donald, of Pennfield, NB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her husband and two sons, Blair and Gerry; one sister, Viola Hooper; and four brothers, James, Preston Gerald and Keith.
In her early years, Thelma had been employed by Connors Brothers Ltd. in Blacks Harbour as a sardine packer until her retirement. She also was a member of the Calvary United Baptist Church in Blacks Harbour.
By her request, there will be no visitation or service. A graveside service will be held at the Pennfield Rural Cemetery
in the spring. Donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the St. George Funeral Service Ltd.

Jed Doren Lee
Peacefully, surrounded by his family on March 23, 2003 at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, NB, Mr. Jed Doren Lee of St. George, NB, loving husband of Myrtle (Gaudet) Lee. Born in St. George, NB on June 23, 1915, he was a son of the late Harry and Gertrude (Noble) Lee. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jed is survived by five sons, Wayne (Janie), Carl (Diane), John (Debbie), Philip (Connie), and Leonard; two daughters, Linda (Brian) Titus, Nancy (Danny) Henry; fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister, Marion Price of Oak Haven in St. Stephen; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Ralph and Everett; three sisters, Sadie Holt, Louise Kernighan, and Celia Hoyt. Jed was a veteran of WWII serving overseas for five years. Following the war, he worked for the Department of Transportation as a Bridge Crew foreman for nearly forty years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #40, St. George, NB.
By request, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Wednesday at 2 pm.

Geraldine Frances (Hatt) Barry
Peacefully, at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB on May 22, 2003, Mrs. Geraldine Frances (Hatt) Barry, Caithness, NB, wife of the late Arthur A. Barry. Born in Letang, NB on November 25, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Mae (Leavitt) Hatt. A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she is survived by 7 sons, Elwood (Brenda) of St. George, Donald (Sandra) of Utopia, David (Sherry) of St. George, Raleigh (Judy), Terry, Ross, Gregory (Kimberly), all of Caithness; 2 daughters, Glenna (Harold) of Letang, and Debbie Barry of Pennfield; 22 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Eldon Hatt of Cornwall, Ontario, Henry Hatt of Letang; 3 sisters, Annie (Allen) Whirty of St. Stephen, Alberta (Hilton) Hanley of Back Bay, Lillian Thorne of Canal; daughter-in-law Peggy Ann Barry of Caithness; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pre-deceased by 2 sons, Peter and George; 2 daughters, Beullah and Dianne; 15 brothers and sisters.
Geraldine enjoyed baking, gardening, and cooking for her family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors and enjoyed company with friends and family. Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and Saturday from 10-12 noon. A Tribute to Mom will be held at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday at 1:45 pm, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2 pm, followed by interment in St. George’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery. Vigil Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7 pm. For those who wish, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, Charlotte County Hospital Palliative Care, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
OLIVE BROWN
Unexpectedly at home, on June 15, 2003, Mrs. Olive Lambert (English) Brown, wife of E. Raye Brown of Pennfield, NB. Born on August 20, 1915, at Lambert’s Cove, Deer Island, NB, she was a daughter of the late Roderick Dyer English and Blanche Dora (Lambert) English.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Olive is survived, besides her husband, by two daughters, Rebecca (Bert) Anthony of Pennfield, NB, Natalie (Morris) Harris of Blacks Harbour, NB; 4 grandchildren, Andrew (Tammy) Anthony of Pennfield, NB, Leigh-Ann (Kenneth) Richardson of Leonardville, Deer Island, NB, Laura Harris (Jeff Tucker) of Saint John, NB and Brent Harris of Blacks Harbour, NB; one great-granddaughter, Rachel Richardson of Deer Island, NB; one sister, Louise Calder of St. George, NB; two nephews, Edmund (Doreen) Calder of Jemseg, NB and David (Heather) English of Fredericton, NB. She was pre-deceased by one brother, Rupert English.
Olive was a member of the NBTA Retired Teachers (having served 30 years in the profession), The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #39 of Blacks Harbour, the Brunswick Curling Club, and was a life-long member of the Lambert’s Cove Baptist Church.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, with visiting on Tuesday evening from 7-9 pm. The service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2 pm from the Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the Pennfield Rural Cemetery.

FRANCES ELIZABETH CHAMBERS
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB, June 5, 2003, surrounded by her family, Frances Elizabeth Chambers, wife of the late Walter W. Chambers, of Passamaquoddy Lodge, St. Andrews, and formerly of Pennfield, NB.
Born in Pennfield, NB on November 10, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lottie (Justason) Murray.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by one son, Burton (Helene) Chambers of Pennfield, two daughters, Marilyn (Mrs. Eldon Hanley) of Pennfield, and Edra (Mrs. Michael Tucker) of Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia; 11 grandchildren, Brian Chambers, Laurie Murphy, Lynn Chambers, Kevin Hanley, Wendy Hawkins, Peter Hanley, Edra Allen, Melissa Hanley, Jeffery Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Joanna Tucker; 13 great-grandchildren, Kalie Hawkins, Karisa Allen, Joshua Hanley, Keith Hanley, Kelsie Allen, Blayne Monks, Blake Allen, Jazemine Hanley, Malloreigh Monks, Kaleb Hanley, Tori Hawkins, Isabelle Murphy, Sydney Chase; one brother, Blair Murray (Lillian) of Canal, NB; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Madeline Murray of Pennfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by two brothers, Ross and Lloyd, and one sister, Doris Murray.
Frances enjoyed knitting, and was a member of the Pennfield Baptist Church and the Fundy Tide Seniors. The family would like to thank management and staff, and many friends at Passamaquoddy Lodge for making Mom’s stay enjoyable.
