1915-2010
RICHIBUCTO, NB – Alice Richard, 94, of Richibucto passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Monday, March 1st, 2010. Born in St. Charles she was the daughter of the late Philias and Marie Henriette (Gallant) Comeau.
Alice will be sadly missed by her four daughters; Vincentine Johnson (Esmond) of St. Louis de Kent, Marie Savoie (Jean-Marie) of Lagaceville, Jeannine Martin (Clément) of St. Louis de Kent, Claudette Richard of Richibucto, three sons; Emile Richard (Doris) of Richibucto, Zoel Richard (Lorenza) of St. Louis de Kent, Edgar Richard (Claudine) of Aldouane, eighteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her 1st husband; Theodore Richard, her 2nd husband; Rosimond Richard, infant son; Vincent, four sisters; Marguerite, Celina, Precille, Desanges, four brothers; Antoine, Felix, Livain, and Philias.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, Thursday at noon until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 4th, 2010 at 2:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Interment will be in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery
at a later date. If so desired donations to the New Brunswick Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society or donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto (523-4252)
Emily Myrtle Beck
1936-2010
SAINT JOHN, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Emily Beck at the age of 73 on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John. Born in Harcourt she was the daughter of the late Edward and Blanche (Cail) Beck.
Emily will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters; Lillian Little of Rexton, Linda West of Houston, Texas and her brother; Milton (Simonne) Beck of Saint John, two aunts; Doris Morton of Ste. Anne de Kent and Muriel Wilbur of Moncton, also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is survived by a very special birth daughter; Cathy Stafford (Chris) of Bloomfield, NB, and a dear friend; Sherry Thomas. She was predeceased by her sister; Dorothy and her brother; Sidney.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, Saint John with visitation on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 4th, 2010 at 2:00 PM, Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, Saint John. Justin Harnett
1985-2010
SOUTH BRANCH, NB – Justin Harnett, 24, of South Branch passed away on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent. Born in Ste. Anne de Kent, Justin was the son of Kenney Harnett and Dianne Richard.
Justin will be sadly missed by his mother; Dianne of Rexton, his father; Kenney (Joanne) of South Branch, maternal grandmother; Helen Richard of Saint John, paternal grandparents; Betty and David Harnett of South Branch, God parents; Debbie and Dale Harnett of South Branch, fiancé; Tiffany Akerson of South Branch, two step sisters; Tabatha Leger of St. Margaret’s and Angelique Williams of Moncton, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Tuesday evening from 7-9. A private family Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at Thompson’s Funeral Home Chapel, Richibucto. Elise Boucher (née King)
1916-2010
BOUCTOUCHE, NB - It is with great sorrow that the family of Elise Boucher announces her sudden passing on her late husband’s birthday Thursday, February 25th, 2010 at the Foyer Bernice Hebert, Bouctouche, at the age of 93 years.
She was the daughter of the late Clovis and Nélida (Desroches) King.
Elise was the wife of the late Henri Boucher of Cap Lumiere. She is survived by four daughters; Joanne (late Jack) Babineau of Richibouctou Village, Irene (Paul) Cormier of Jardineville, Annette (Leo) Boucher of Leominster, Mass., Denise (Irois) Bernard of Bouctouche, one son; Omer (Violet) Boucher of Cap Lumiere, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one brother; Ferdinand King, and four sisters; Anna Bernard(late Eugere), Yvonne (late Roger) LeBlanc, Irene (Arice) Maillet and Deliza Caissie, as well as many nieces and nephews. Other than her parents and her husband, Elise was predeceased by her two sons; Emery and Armand, and four brothers; Emery, Willy, Leandre, Augustin, and three sisters; Edmée, Edna, and Dorilla.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at 4:00 pm at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church. The family will receive friends and family at the Club d’Âge d’Or for a reception after the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the N.B. Muriel Estella Doak-Vandette
1916-2010
McClary, Muriel Estella Doak - Vandette Passed away peacefully at Spencer Memorial nursing home on Friday evening February 12, 2010 at the age of ninety three (93) years. Born in Emerson NB on August 17th 1916 to James and Julia (Beers) Mc Clary.
She was mother to Harry Doak (Deceased) and Jean (John) Vandette. Predeceased by two brothers, Lester and James as well as sister Windella. Muriel is survived by two sisters Dorothy McClary, Tillie Dawson sister in law Ruby McClary and brothers Percy Beers and Dale Cameron. Muriel was grandmother to Richard Doak (deceased), James Doak (Jacqueline), Karen Doak (Deb), David Vandette, Sarah Vandette and Robert Vandette and two great grand-daughters Kayla and Jessica Doak as well as several nieces and nephews and cousins.
After moving to Moncton with her new family in the 1930’s Muriel later moved to Montreal where she continued to pursue her career. Upon retirement Muriel moved back to New Brunswick to enjoy her golden years with her extended family. She attended St Matthews Anglican Church, where she was a member of the senior citizens group.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Thompson Funeral Home Richibucto N.B. Exposition will be at St Mathews Anglican Church Harcourt from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Monday Feb 15th followed by her funeral on Tuesday Feb 16th at 2:00 PM to be presided over by Rev Cecil Symes. Donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s society, St Matthews Church or St. Matthews cemetery fund. The interment will take place at St Matthews Church Cemetery
in the spring.
Wilhelmina Lawson (née Atkinson)
1917-2010
MONCTON, NB - Wilhelmina Lawson, 92, of Rexton passed away peacefully at the Dr.-Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on Thursday, February 18th, 2010 after a brief illness. Born in Mundleville she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Barbara (MacWilliam) Atkinson. Wilhelmina attended the St. Andrew’s United church, and was a member of the Eastern Star.
Survived by her daughter; Barbara Jean Kempster (Gerald) of Quispamsis, her son; Robert Wayne Lawson, her five grandchildren; Todd, Mark, Scott, Jason, Trina, and her five great grandchildren; Jonathan, Joshua, Brandon, Laura, Mullen, as well as many nieces and nephews. Other than her parents, Wilhelmina was predeceased by her husband Bonar Lawson, and three sisters; Annie Forster, Christina Gamble, and Jennie Atkinson.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s United church on Monday, February 22nd, 2010 at 2:00 pm, and will be presided by Reverend Galen Smith. Interment will be in St. Andrew’s United Cemetery, Rexton in the spring. If so desired, donations may be made to the St. Andrew’s United Church, or to the New Brunswick Alzheimer Association and would be appreciated by the family. Omer Richard
1939-2010
RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB - Omer Richard, 70, of Richibouctou-Village, passed away peacefully at the Villa Maria, St. Louis-de-Kent, on Wednesday, February 3rd 2010. Born in Richibouctou-Village, Omer was the son of the late Freddie and Marie (Allain) Richard. Before retiring, Omer worked as a correctional officer in Richibucto for 15 years and in Moncton for 16 years. He attended the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village.
He will be sadly missed by his wife; Stella O. Richard, his daughter; Anise (Shanon) Simon of Fredericton, his son; Serge Richard of Moncton, his two grandchildren; Sophia and Dawson Simon, two sisters; Rita Léger (Gérald) of Richibucto, Ginette Martineau (Bernard) of Salem, Mass., five brothers; Raymond Richard of Bouctouche, Fernand Richard of Ste. Anne, Jean-Claude Richard of Bouctouche, Sylvio (Annise) Richard of Richibouctou-Village, and Rosario (Marie) Richard of Richibouctou-Village. Other than his parents, Omer was predeceased by his sister Lucille Babineau (late Henry) of Richibouctou-Village.
Resting at the St. Antoine de Padoue R. C. Church Slumber Room, Richibouctou-Village with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Monday from 2:00 pm until time of funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 8th, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. Interment will be in parish cemetery in the spring. Arthur Laurie Barteau
At the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 1, 2002, Mr. Arthur Laurie Barteau of Chocolate Cove, Deer Island, husband of Lorena M. (Matthews) Barteau. Born in Leonardville, NB on July 15, 1914, he was the son of the late Arthur G and Alice (Conley) Barteau. A loving husband, father and grandfather he is survived by his wife; 1 son, Dale (Glenna) of Chocolate Cove; 2 daughters, Eleanor Thurber (Donald) of Lincoln, NB and Journeay Barteau of Chocolate Cove; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Fremont, Charles, Bernard and Roscoe and 4 sisters, Harriett, Viola, Elta and Luly.
Prior to retirement, Arthur was a lobster pound owner for several years. Previous to this, he was a postmaster for 30 years and a grocery store operator for many years. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Leonardville. He enjoyed baseball and hockey and was very interested in local affairs.
There will be no visitation by family request. A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced. Interment in the Fairhaven Cemetery
at Calder's Head. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
