J. Alvin “Flam” CORMIER
1917-2009
Alvin Cormier, 91, of Little Aldouane, passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2009 at the Villa Maria in St. Louis de Kent. Born on November 13th, 1917, he was the son of Edmond and Alma (Richard).
Alvin was a sailor in the British Merchant Marine during World War II. After his time at sea, he served with the RCAF.
Alvin had built and operated, along with his wife, what is now L.A. Groceries, for 25 years, during which time he delivered fuel for Texaco until retirement.
Alvin was very involved in community affairs. Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Richibucto Branch # 30, member of the Richibucto Lions’ Club, recipient of the Melvin James Fellow Award of the Lions’ Club International Foundation.
Alvin had been very much involved in various committees such as, member of the Richibucto church choir, Chairman of Bingo Comm., and President of the Richibucto Sports Assoc.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Mélanie (Daigle) with whom he had been married for 67 years, his four daughters; Anne-Marie (Jeff Leach) Aldouane, Bernadette (Robert Lavoie) Florida, Alma (Normand Caissie) Richibucto, Paulette (Maurice Roy) St. Louis and two sons; Alvin (Junior) Oshawa and Eugene of Aldouane. Also three brothers; Philias, Tilmon (Timmy) and Richard (Ritchie) all from Richibucto.
Also survived by twelve grandchildren; Kim, Michel, Elizabeth, Nicole, Lamont, Marie-France, Eugene, Andrée, Mario, Ghyslain, Mireille and Samuel and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, was predeceased by two brothers; Edouard and Hector, two sisters; Della and Rita and one grandson; David Leach.
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9, Thursday at 2:00 pm until departure for funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 12th, 2009 at 4:00 pm, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Interment will be in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery. Edouard Savoie
1912-2009
ST. LOUIS, NB - Edouard Savoie, 97, of St. Charles passed away on November 5th, 2009 at the Stella Maris Hospital, St. Anne de Kent. Born in St. Charles, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Chevarie) Savoie. Edouard worked for the Department of Transportation in Rexton. He was a member of the St. Charles Golden Age Club, and attended Saint Charles Borromée Roman Catholic church.
Edouard will be sadly missed by his second wife Léocadie (Daigle) Bordage, one daughter Yvette Goguen (late Alvin) of Moncton, two sons; Yvon (Delima) Savoie of Dieppe, Normand (Thérèse) Savoie of Granby, Québec, 6 grandchildren; Jean, Nadine, Lise, Carole, Rachel, Christine, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Edouard was the last remaining member of his family. Other than his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife Véa (Daigle) Savoie, 4 brothers; Jim (late Léonie), Adolphe (late Béatrice), Livain (late Madeleine), Theodore, and five sisters; Marie, Sophie, Denise (late Fidèle), Exilda (late Edouard), Lucie (late John).
Resting at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto, with visitation on Sunday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, and Monday from 11AM until departure for the funeral. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 9th, 2009 at 1:00PM at the St. Charles Borromée Roman Catholic Church, St. Charles. Mélina Marcoux Roy (née Thébeau)
1936-2009
ST-LOUIS, NB - Mélina Marcoux Roy, 73, of St-Louis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1st, 2009 at the Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital, Moncton. Born in St. Ignace, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Delphine (Richard) Thébeau. Volunteer work held a big part in Mélina’s life. She was part of the “Vie Montante” committee, AMICA, the pastoral committee, helped with the preparation and the serving of meals after funerals, the Université de Moncton “3e Âge”, she was the Senior Goodwill Ambassador for Kent County, she was a participant in the “Grouille ou Rouille” program for many years, member of the Kent Violence Prevention Centre, she also volunteered a lot of her time to many different cancer related fundraisers (Relay for life, Tree of Hope and many others) and she also delivered hot meals to the needy.
Mélina will be sadly missed by her daughter; Ginette Marcoux Frigon (Pierre) of Jasper AB, her three sons; Émile (Johanne) of St. Ignace, Maurice (Linda) of Moncton, Donald (Jocelyne) of St. Louis; her 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, her two sisters; Marie-Louise Richard (Alyre) of St. Ignace, Noëlla Guimond (Telex) of St-Ignace, her eight brothers; Hubert (Yvonne) of Hinton, AB, Pierre of Richibucto, Robert (Lynn) of Oshawa, ON, Delphin (Irma) de Moncton, Émile (Andrea) of Manchester, CT, Ted (Jeannette) of Leominster, MA, Josephat (Robin) of Nobleton, ON, Amand (Elianne) of Hinton, AB, many nieces and nephews and her special friend; Fidèle Daigle.
Other than her parents, Mélina was predeceased by her loving husband; Charles E. Roy, her son; Roger, her granddaughter; Julie her sister; Patricia Thibodeau, and her brother; Elzear.

Albénie Guimond
1920-2009
MONCTON, NB – Albénie Guimond, 89, of St-Louis, NB passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 at the War Veterans Health Centre, Moncton. Born in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Gaspard and Élise (Doucet) Guimond. Albénie worked as an electrician, and served in the Canadian Armed Forces under the RCC Regiment G600 847. As a veteran, he belonged to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 30 in Richibucto.
Albénie will be sadly missed by his five daughters; Noella Robichaud (Normand) of Moncton, Linda Murphy (Dave) of St. Louis, Diane Martin (Georges) of St. Charles, Anne Marie Vautour (Aden) of St. Louis, Angela Vautour (Vincent) of St. Louis, four sons; Rhéal (Raymonde) of St. Louis, Roger (Emmérentienne) of St. Louis, Ron (Rosa) of Bedec, Ricky Robichaud (Jacqueline) of Bedec, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two sisters; Régina Comeau (John) of St. Louis, Mélanise Lavoie (Émile) of Sault-Ste.-Marie, ON and many nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, Albénie was predeceased by his loving wife; Adrica, and his five brothers; Arthur, Alonzo, Edgar, Éloi, and Nazaire.

Gerard Joseph Tremblay
1946-2009
ST. LOUIS, NB - Gerard Tremblay, 63, of St-Ignace, NB passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 24th, 2009. Born in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Joseph and Marie A (Ferron) Tremblay. Gerard was a janitor for most of his life, and in his spare time loved playing cards.
Gerard will be sadly missed by his wife Carolyn (Powell) Tremblay, his three daughters; Angela Arseneault (Maurice) of St. Louis, Giselle Mazerolle (Ricky) of Bentley, AB, Tracy Tremblay (Michael) of Richibucto, 8 grand children; Natalie, Jamie, Jean-Maurice, Sarah, Jasmine, Deanna, Danica, and Tristian, who will all sadly miss their Grampie, his goddaughter; Mary Yvette LaPointe (Joseph) of Moncton, three sisters; Jean Gaudreau (late Victor) of Edmonton, AB, Alice Kelly (Charles) of St. Ignace, Rose Marie Cloutier (Jean Marc) of Pont-du-Milieu, one brother; William Tremblay (Elize) of St. Louis, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was predeceased by five brothers; Aime, Jean Paul, Marcellin, Henri, Alphonse, and one sister; Marie Louce.

ST. LOUIS DE KENT, NB- Alonzo Guimond, 87, of St. Louis de Kent passed away peacefully at La Villa Maria, St. Louis de Kent on Friday, October 23rd, 2009. Born is St. Louis de Kent, he was the son of the late Joseph Maria and Lucie (Arsenault) Guimond.
Alonzo will be sadly missed by his sister, Laurette Guimond of Saint John, his brother, Nazaire Guimond of St. Louis de Kent, sisters-in-law, Elodie Guimond and Annie Guimond both of St. Louis de Kent, very special friend; Lucille Daigle of Richibucto and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by six sisters; Angele, Eva, Marie Anne, Alexina, Marthe, Alida, four brothers; Simon, Gregoire, Alphonse and Roger.

Arsène Daigle
1934-2009
POINTE-SAPIN, NB - Arsène Daigle, 75, of Pointe-Sapin passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital, Ste. Anne de Kent on Tuesday, October 20th, 2009. Born in Pointe-Sapin he was the son of the late Sebastien and Lucie Daigle. Arsène was self employed. He attended St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Pointe-Sapin.
Arsène will be sadly missed by his wife; Claudia (Richard) Daigle, two daughters; Norma Stewart (Nazaire) of Kouchibouguac, Gisèle Mazerolle (Martin) of Pointe-Sapin, one son; Roland Daigle (Jeannine) of Pointe-Sapin, one granddaughter; Renée Mazerolle, two sisters; Délima Robichaud (Clement) of Pointe-Sapin, Elva Daigle (late Henry) of St. Antoine, one brother; Edmond Daigle (Clairisse) of Summerside, PEI, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by 2 sisters; Edith and Melina, two brothers; Elide and Armand.
