Predeceased by his brother Arthur. Former member of Oshawa City Council, dedicated UAW Union Representative for many years and proud member of BMW Motorcycle Owners Club. BOOS, Alois Ludwig (Alex) -
Mr. Alois (Alex) Ludwig Boos, age 85 years, formerly of Oshawa, passed away peacefully with his family at his side in St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, August 16th, 2003. He was born in Eberbach, Germany on November 15th, 1917. Alex came to Canada first as a prisoner of war in camps at Nipigon and Northern Alberta and then immigrated here in 1953. He settled in Oshawa and operated a barbershop until October 1998. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Gladys), a brother Eugen in Germany and his stepchildren; Dolores (Rene) of Montreal, Diane of Thunder Bay and Stephen of Toronto. He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth in 1984. A private viewing was held at Jenkens Funeral Home, Thunder Bay, Ontario and cremation followed. A funeral mass was held at Corpus Christi Church, Red River Road, Thunder Bay on Tuesday, August 19th, 2003 at 10:00 AM followed by a reception in the parish hall and burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family wish to express gratitude to the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care units at St. Joseph's for their superb and loving care of Alex and the family. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society, 310 - 180 Park Avenue, Thunder Bay, Ontario P7B 6J4 would be appreciated by the family .
