LAHEY - Patrick Darryl Lahey, loving son of Irene and Lloyd Lahey, passed away in Calgary, on 13 April, 2001, at the age of 59. Patrick was born icon in Edmonton on 29 January, 1942. He attended school in Athabasca, AB, Jasper, AB, Kindersley, SK and Edmonton, AB. Mourning the loss of Patrick are his mother; three brothers, Daniel (Sharon), Dale (Peggy) and Barry (Lise); Aunt Buddy and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Cremation. A family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

ANKERMAN - Clair Ankerman, beloved husband of Margaret of fifty years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at the Beverly Care Centre at the age of 80 years. Clair is survived by a daughter JoAnn (Ron) Mussieux of Sherwood Park; and two sons, Don (Patricia) and Garry (Gerda) all of Calgary; and eleven grandchildren. Clair is also survived by two brothers, Glen (Jean) of Kelowna, BC and Doug (Pat) of Victoria, BC; two sisters, Inez (Gordon) Campbell of Melfort, SK and Anne (Bud) Mitchell of Calgary; and a half-sister Dorothy of Calgary; and a step-mother Barbara of Melfort, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Born in Outlook, SK on September 11, 1920, Clair joined the RCAF in 1941 and served in Vancouver and the Queen Charlotte Islands. He moved to Calgary in 1950 and was in real estate for twenty-seven years, including sixteen years with Canada Trust, before retiring in 1981. He was also a member of the K-40 Club. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew's United Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rod Sykes officiating. BATES - Sterling Nelson Bates passed away suddenly in an automobile accident near Golden B.C. on June 2, 2001, at the age of 62. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jennetta of Calgary; daughter Kathy La Pointe (Eric) of Columbia, Missouri; and son Chris of Calgary. Sterling also leaves behind his brother Herb Ainsworth (Viola) of Abbottsford, B.C. BONNER - Doris Eva Bonner, age 88 years, passed away on June 5, 2001 at Care West. Doris came to Canada from Woking, England in 1913 with her parents and resided in the Balzac area until moving to Calgary in 1991. Doris is survived by her sister Dorothy; brother Leslie; eight nieces. Predeceased by her parents, sister Gladys, brothers, Jack and Charlie. BULMAN - Rita S. Bulman, beloved wife of Jerry Bulman, passed away suddenly at her new home in Ajijic, Mexico on Monday, May 28, 2001 at the age of 56 years. Rita was born icon in Edmonton, AB on September 3, 1944. Besides her loving husband, Rita is survived by two daughters, Kim (Steve) Grinder, Cheryl (Matthew) Janisch; a son Craig (Tammy) MacMillan; and grandchildren, Kristyn Ginder, Jacob and Onna Janisch, Amanda and Sarah MacMillan. She is also survived by a brother Dwight (Connie) Adamic; a sister Judy (Bob) Schlotter; nieces, Nicole and Alanna Adamic, Jennifer and Kylie Schlotter, and a nephew Michael Adamic. CRANCE - Karin (Carrie) passed away peacefully on June 6, 2001, two days after her 104th birthday, after a long and interesting life. She is survived by her loving son Alan (Beatrice) and grandson Colin of Ottawa, Ontario. We wish to thank the staff of Mayfair Care Centre for the care and attention they provided. Special thanks to Helen Cherewko for her loving care, compassion and support for Karin and her family. In keeping with her wish, no Service was held and flowers are gratefully declined. CUMMER - Mr. Wilfred A., beloved husband of Mrs. Edith Cummer of Calgary, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on June 6, 2001 at the age of 76 years. Wilfred will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of fifty-four years; sons, Larry A. (Vel), Kenneth R. (Philip) and Dennis J. (Annie); ten grandchildren, Dean, Carrie, Stacey, Tammy, David, Derek, John, Preston, James and Ronald; seven great-grandchildren, Bay-Lee, Micheal, Justin, Jadyn, Aarin, Tessa and Shayann. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Elsie, Lloyd (Edna), Bert (Velma), Evert (Jenny), Chloe (Brian) and Edgar (Cathy); sister-in-law Jean; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. DAVIDSON - Connie Nora Davidson (Currie). On June 4, 2001, Connie Nora Davidson of Edmonton passed away at the age of 96 years. Connie is survived by her loving family, three daughters, Evelyn (Ken) Tanner, Florence (Jim) Dimos, Helen (Runo - deceased) Berglund; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Connie was predeceased by her first husband Robert Currie in 1954. D'EATH - Gordon S. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon S. D'Eath on Sunday, June 3, 2001. Gord was born icon in Calgary in 1953. He attended Lord Beaverbrook High School prior to graduating from Mount Royal College in Petroleum Land Management. He was employed at Imperial Oil for twenty-six years, and had been an active member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen ("CAPL") for over twenty years. Gord was especially proud of having been recently elected by his peers as a director of CAPL. Gord was not one to take life lying down, and in addition to his workplace activities, he organized his Friday morning hockey games with his friends from work and had been active in the South Diamond Softball League, Deer Run Community Baseball and Bow Valley Hockey Associations. In addition to his numerous coaching responsibilities, Gord was kept busy driving car loads of children around to their respective sporting events. Gord was married icon to the love of his life, Janice, for twenty-two years and is survived by her and their two children, Jillian and Michael, and Jennifer Marshall, who was like a daughter to him. He is also survived by his grandmother Emma Millar; his parents, Graham and Muriel D'Eath; sisters, Valerie (Wayne) Pennycook and Jane (Sven) Rylandsholm; his brother John (Kelly); mother-in-law Mary Sertich; sister-in-law Nancy (Dale) Baskin; and his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Stacey, Daniel, Jacob; and numerous other family members and friends. Gord was predeceased by his grandmother Besse Fry and by his grandfathers, John Fry, Bertram Millar, and Leonard D'Eath. In life, Gord was a great teacher, and the lessons he taught those around him was of the importance of friends, family and the rewards of unselfish acts of kindness. DURLING - Barbara Ann "Barb" Durling of Calgary passed away at the Foothills Hospital on June 5, 2001, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 62 years. Barb was born icon in Moose Jaw, SK on May 14, 1939, and moved to Lethbridge as a teen. She married icon Bill Durling in Lethbridge on October 10, 1964. Barb and Bill moved often after their marriage, following his job transfers, to as far away as Montreal, and back to Calgary. She had a respect for everyone she met and treated everyone as she would like to be treated. She was fully dedicated to her family. She had a select group of friends that she was close to and loved. Besides her loving husband Bill, Barb is also survived by two sons, Robert of Vancouver, BC, and Andrew of Calgary. She was predeceased by her brother Ross Brown, and parents, Murray and Viola. Funeral Services will be held at St. David's United Church (3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W.), today, June 8, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ralph Spencer officiating. EDWARDS - Laura Mary, born icon March 10, 1905 to Dr. Peter D. Tyerman and Jessie Tyerman (nee Thompson) in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, passed away June 6, 2001 at the Peter Lougheed Centre. Laura was predeceased by her parents, husband James (Jimmy) Edwards, brother David M. Tyerman, Q.C., sisters, Lilian (Doug) Bartram and Helen (Richard) Cruickshank. She is survived by her sister Katherine (Jack) Vaughan; and brother Jack Tyerman; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Laura received her early education in Prince Albert and Toronto. She obtained a Law Degree from the University of Saskatchewan, convocating in 1927. Laura was the first woman to graduate in law from the University of Saskatchewan and graduated at the top of her class. After completing the required two-year term of articles with the firm of Matheson, Salter and Firth in Prince Albert, Laura was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1929. During the depression, Laura took on extra jobs to earn her living. She helped to promote the Victorian Order of Nurses and was the Woman's Editor of the Prince Albert Herald. Laura met James (Jimmy) Edwards, a First War veteran of the British Army and Air Corps in Prince Albert after he gave up farming as a lost cause. They were married icon in 1938. Laura and Jimmy moved to Calgary after the Second World War. Laura was an active member in many charitable organizations, she was also active in the University Women's Club and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church while living in Calgary. After Dr. Tyerman passed away, Laura cared for her mother until her death. Laura will be remembered at Funeral Services to be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (1009 - 15 Avenue S.W.) on Monday, June 11, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service will be in the Tyerman family plot, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto, Ontario at a later date.
