LAWRENCE MOUSSEAU (LOURAH) September 4, 1931 - December 7, 2004 Surrounded by his loving family at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, MB, Lawrence of Lake Manitoba First Nation passed away after a long illness. Lawrence leaves to mourn his children; Connie (Don) Monkman, Janice (Warren) Bird, Rachel (Dennis) Swan, Herman (Tanis) Mousseau, Charlotte Mousseau and Brenda Henderson; nine grandchildren, Shawn (Veronica), Crystal, Andrew, Kyla, Destiny, Serena, Ty, Jonah and Jared; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Anjanette, Harvey, Lucas and Eli; his sister Lizzie (Raymond) Paul; sisters-in-law, Maggie (Jim) Dunn of Winnipeg, MB, Millie Lavallee of Lake Manitoba First Nation, and Cecila Missiabit of Winnipeg, MB; his brothers-in-law, Joe Edwards of Lake Manitoba First Nation, and Rufus Houle of Ebb & Flow Manitoba. He also leaves to mourn all his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, God-children and friends too numerous to mention. Lourah was predeceased by his wife Rosemary; his brothers, John, Herman, and Alfie; his sisters, Freda Mousseau and Martha Houle; his parents, Andrew and Marie Louise Mousseau; his step-mom-in-law Delia Edwards; his in-laws John and Pauline Edwards, Siggi and Margaret Hallson, Barney and Florence Swan, Edwin & Mary Edward, Jordy Missiabit, Eddy Maytwayashing, Doris Mousseau and Leona Edwards. Lourah was born
on September 4, 1931 in Sandy Bay First Nation but raised in Ebb & Flow First Nation. He came to Lake Manitoba in 1952 where he met his wife Rose whom he married
on October 7, 1953. They had six children, Connie, Janice, Rachel, Herman, Charlotte and Brenda. Before his illness Lourah enjoyed carpentry, hunting and fishing. Lourah's favourite pastime was getting together with family and friends to play his guitar alongside his uncle Willie's fiddle. That all ended when Uncle Willie passed away in 1985. In 1986 his loving wife Rose passed away. Lourah struggled with his wife's death. Shortly after his wife's death Lourah suffered a mild stroke. Dad could no longer care for himself, his daughter Rachel cared for him for 18 years. Wake services will be held on Thursday, December 9, and Friday, December 10, 2004 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at his residence (Rachel Swan's) on Lake Manitoba First Nation. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church. Interment to follow in the Lake Manitoba Reserve Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Maurice Mousseau, Vernon Mousseau, Nelson Mousseau, Guy Paul, James Dunn Jr., and Allan Swan. Honorary Pallbearers are Leonard Mousseau, Doris Mousseau, Adeline Mousseau, Solomon Houle, Berba Swan, Wallace Paul, Brian Swan, Adolph Paul, Keith Paul, Alec Maytwayashing, Peggy Swan, Eddie Edwards and Brian Maytwayashing and Delphine Rundle. The family wishes to thank the Nurses and Staff at the E.M Crowe Memorial Hospital for their kindness and great care for Dad during his brief stay. LEAH MULLER Leah Muller passed away suddenly on December 6, 2004. She is survived by her loving husband Norman Muller; parents, Theodore and Ann Nitz; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Alma Muller; sisters, Wanda (John) Carmont and Nancy (Alen) Ashby; brothers, Brian Nitz and Rodney (Lynn) Nitz; sister-in-law Inge (Claire) Warnock; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Rosa) Muller and Ronald (Colleen) Muller; many nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, compassion and peace. Leah spent many happy years in Winnipeg prior to moving to San Antonio in 1989. The many lives she touched have been enriched and this world is a better place for Leah having walked this way. Leah, you will be missed! MITCHELL ANTHONY MURRAY 1961 - 2004 Suddenly at his residence in London, ON on October 6, 2004 at the age of 42. He was the beloved son of John and Morna Murray of Ancaster, ON, brother of Pamela O'Leary of Winnipeg, MB and the grandson of Clara Frantz of Selkirk, MB. A memorial service will be held in Selkirk, MB at the Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean Ave. The service will be on Saturday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service. Private family interment will take place at Seven Sisters Falls at a later date.

GARY NICHOLSON January 20, 1935 - December 7, 2004 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather. After a courageous battle and in the comfort of his wife and son, Gary Nicholson went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. He leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife of 48 years, Ina; his children, Glen, Debra (Kevin), their children, Megan and Kiefer, Sharon (Peter); their children, Sarah and Matthew, Diane (Gary), their daughter Rebecca Zoe; brother Neil (Shirley); sister Trish (Richard); brothers-in-law, Bob, John; sister-in-law Beryl (Ed), as well as all who knew and loved him. Gary was an active member of the Knox United Church Choir, a Master Mason and exceptional teacher to whom his students really mattered. He had a love of theatre and astronomy, but most importantly was his love for his wife, children and grandchildren. "We will love you forever." A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with a reception following. The family would like to extend special thanks to the MICU staff and Renal Dialysis Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion given to Gary over the past three and a half years. STANLEY POWELL On Monday, December 6, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB Stanley Powell beloved husband of the late Frances Marie Powell of Powerview, MB passed away peacefully. It has been just over a year since he lost his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Marie who he met while they were serving in the Armed Forces. He is survived by his children, Alice (Dominique), Mary Jane, Donald (Yvonne), Jim (Karen), Adelaide (Tunde); and by a brother George and his sister Anne; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. JOHN "JAKE" RICHARDSON John "Jake" Richardson died peacefully on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the age of 75 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret and his parents, Henry and Mary. Left to mourn are his children, Judy (Ray), Cindy (David) and Bill (Debbie); his grandchildren, Dayle, Miles and Garrett; his brother-in-law Donald MacLellan, Linda and family. Jake was the second eldest of 13 siblings, left behind are Lillian, Betty, Joyce, Frances, Diane, Ann, Catherine, Patsy, Joan, Brian, Donald and Peter; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Jake was born
January 30, 1929 and raised in Pine Falls, MB. As he went to school in Pine Falls, he started working part time in 1945 and in 1947, he took his apprenticeship in the Machine Shop at the Pine Falls Paper Mill. He finished his apprenticeship in 1951 and continued to work in the mill until his retirement. He married
his wife Margaret and they raised their three children in Pine Falls. From the 1950s to the 1960s, Jake served in the Canadian Army Reserves and became a Sergeant. The "Senator", as he was affectionately called by his fellow legion members, was a diamond in the rough with a huge heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by his very loyal friends and family. A celebration of Jake's life will be held on Saturday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pine Falls United Church with Rev. Ken Anstie officiating. Eulogy will be made by his son-in-law David Trueman. Lunch will be served immediately following the service, provided for by the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. JEFFERY MILES SCHNERCH Peacefully on December 5, 2004, Jeffery passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 35 years. Jeffery is survived by his dad Arnold; brother Robert (Frances); step-sister Angela and family; nephews Nathan, Shawn and Kyle and families; and close friend Leah. He was predeceased by his mother Joyce; brother David; sister Deborah and infant brother Garry. EMILIA (MILLIE) WEBER Emilia was born
in Balzar, Russia on July 27, 1910 and spent her last year at Luther Home until she went home to her Lord on December 6, 2004. She was predeceased by her parents John and Emilia Weber; brothers, Alexander, William, and John; also sisters, Theresa, Marie and Pauline. Emilia will be lovingly remembered by her sister Elsie (Daniel) Bibe; two sisters-in-law, Jeraldine Weber and Roy-Emma Yanczura, with many nieces and nephews throughout Western Canada. Emilia immigrated to Canada in 1911 with her parents and older brother Alexander. She lived in Winnipeg, MB and Morse, SK with her family before working for Judge Pope and wife in Melford, SK and London, ON, then moving back to Winnipeg to work at "Globe Bedding" until she retired in 1970. She has always been active in her church and enjoyed many hours teaching Sunday school in her younger days. Her hobbies included baking, crocheting and knitting. Special thanks to the staff at Luther Home for making her time there comfortable and enjoyable. A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, corner of College Avenue and McKenzie Street on Monday, December 13 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. MERVIN MARION BRAGDON After a lengthy illness, Mervin Bragdon passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his former wife Mary; daughters, Kristen and Angie (Wayne); son James (Tina); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several extended family members. Mervin was predeceased by his mother and stepfather Mary and George Obsnuik. Mervin was a longtime resident of Winnipeg. He worked 25 years for Eaton's, and 10 years for Metropol Security. After a private family graveside service, a public memorial service for Mervin will be held on Tuesday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Southland Community Church located at 190 PTH Hwy. 52 West in Steinbach, MB. Our family wishes to extend their special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre on MICU and H6 for the excellent care that Mervin received.
