Stier, Hilda Marion (nee: Love)
Stier, Hilda Marion (nee: Love) was born on November 15th, 1915 at the family farm in Vulcan, AB and passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Hilda was the second youngest of a family of ten and was predeceased by her husband Jim and nine brothers and sisters. She will be dearly missed by her loving family; daughter Gail (Jim) Preus of Comox, B.C.; and sons Wayne (Evelyn) of Nanton, Paul of Victoria and Allan of Blackie; grandchildren Tracey (Bob) Davis, Rob (Alana) Stier, Cory (Belinda) Stier, Sheri (Colin) Gibbs, and Ann Moxin; great-grandchildren Erin and Colin Davis, Ashley and Chelsea Gibbs and Katie and James Stier. Hilda resided most of her life on the Stier family farm in Blackie and moved to High River with Jim in 1996. Hilda and Jim enjoyed many winter months in Arizona where she kept busy playing shuffle board and painting pictures. She was very active in curling and especially enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Snodgrass Funeral Chapel in High River. Bouquet, Elizabeth Agatha Chislett Bouquet (nee Bouchie)
Bouquet, Elizabeth Agatha Chislett Bouquet (nee Bouchie), of Nanton, Alberta left us on Tuesday, April 19th, 2005, with love, courage and strength which defined her long and beautiful life. Born in Little Dover, Nova Scotia, into a family of five brothers and three sisters, she leaves behind seven children, Mel, Bart, Corinne, Jennifer, Kathryn, Beverly and Stephen; eleven grandchildren Cynthia Marie, Cher-Marie, Mel Jr., Robert, Craig, Melissa, Kyle, Lisa-Marie, Scott, Ryan and Adam along with two great-grandchildren Natasha and Vincent. Elizabeth was predeceased by her first husband Douglas Chislett on June 21st, 1983 and her second husband David Bouquet on July 29th, 2003. Her life revolved around her family and friends. She enjoyed her many crafts and gardening and made several hundred Teddy Bears by hand which were loved, admired and shared by countless adults and children. A memorial service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Chapel, High River, Alberta on Saturday, April 23rd, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Janet Fisher, officiating. A fir tree will be planted in her memory in the Fish Creek Memorial Park, Calgary later this season. In her memory, memorial donations may be made to a Humane Society. Charlton, Jean
Charlton, Jean born September 12th, 1932, passed away at the High River Hospital on April 8th, 2005 at the age of 72 years. She will be remembered by her husband of 55 years, Dale Charlton; her sons Terry (Diane), High River, David (Sue), Calgary, John (Lavinia), Elk Point; daughters-in-law Noreen and Donna; grandchildren Crystal (James), Bill, Kim (Gerry), Lindsey, Tammy, Shannon, Scott, Greg, Rene and great-grandchildren Jordie, Shaylee and Taylor. She is also survived by siblings Wayne (Doris) Lemley, Phyllis (RD) McDonald, Dorothy (Adolf) Bexte, Sharon (Ron) Colvin, sisters-in-law Marie (Ken) Stevenson, Izora Watson, Pat Lemley, Jean Lemley as well a numerous nieces, nephews and her good friend Edith Burke (Hicklin). Jean was predeceased by sons, Bob and Roy, three grandchildren Darin, Curtis and Amanda, brothers, Howard, Ken and Morris and sister, Marie. Jean was born in Nanton, Alberta where she lived until Grade Three. She then moved to High River where she worked at various jobs until she met and married Dale in 1950. Jean spent many hours in hockey arenas watching her five boys as well as coaching girl’s hockey. Dale and Jean spent 24 years in High River before moving to Elk Point where they resided for 20 years. They returned to High River, residing firstly at Little Bow Apartments and then, for the last two years, prior to Jean’s passing, at the Medicine Tree Manor. A memorial service was held at the Highwood Memorial Centre, High River on Wednesday, April 13th, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Gerry Watkins D.M. officiating. Collyer, Katherine
Collyer, Katherine beloved wife of Orval Collyer, High River, passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on April 10th, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Besides her loving husband, Katherine is survived by her daughter Shelley Collyer, High River, her sons Bradley (Carol) Collyer, Okotoks; Laurie Collyer, Edmonton and Brent (Nancy) Collyer, Calgary and her grandchildren: Joel, Davis and Jill Collyer and Ashleigh, Brianne and Chase Collyer. She is also survived by her brothers Jim (Norma) Neufeld, Ernie (Alma) Neufeld, all of Stonewall, MB, Henry Neufeld, Leduc, Herb (Lorna) Neufeld, Ft. Saskatchewan, Leonard (Rae) Neufeld, Vernon, BC; her sisters Esther (Jim) Burns, Pilot Mound, MB, Betty (Bob) Jordan, Darlingford, MB, Maryann (Brian) Moore, Killarney, MB and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at the High River United Church on Friday, April 15th at 1:30 P.M with the Reverend Susan Lukey officiating. Katherine’s urn was intered at Highwood Cemetery

Fowler, Randy
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing at age 22 of our beloved son Randy on April 16, 2005, the result of an ATV accident. Randy was born August 17, 1982. He leaves to mourn his father Kelly Fowler of Calgary and his mother and stepfather Ann and Ron Arkes of Turner Valley; his dear brothers David Fowler and RJ Arkes, and his dearest sister Sarah Arkes; his grandmother Pearl James of Airdrie, grandparents Rodney and Mernie James of Okotoks, and his step grandmother Jeanette Arkes of Millarville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Randy was a graduate of Oilfields High School, Black Diamond and was a volunteer firefighter with the Longview Fire Department. He was a happy and caring young man, much loved by family and friends. A celebration of Randy's life was held at the Longview Fire Hall on Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation will take place with a private family memorial later. Herron, Darlene passed away at the Foothills Hospital on April 19, 2005 at the age of 56 years. Darlene is survived by her mother and step-father Gertrude and Wallace Jackson of Harris, SA., her brother Doug (Regina) of Prince Albert and sister-in-law Carol Herron of Brooks as well as her nieces and nephew. Darlene was predeceased by her father Lorne in 1969 and brother Grant in 1996. Darlene's traveled extensively throughout the world with her close friends. Lantz, Gloria Doreen of Longview, AB, passed away at her home on April 14th, 2005 at the age of 73 years. She was born on a farm north of Delia, AB. and was predeceased by her mother Mabel and father Charles Phillips and her son Clinton Humphrey. Gloria is survived by her loving and devoted husband Leland Lantz, Longview, her son Lloyd Humphrey, Longview, daughter Sheila and her husband Bob Sander, Longview, son Blaine Humphrey and Elsie Krom, Didsbury, AB., daughter Robbi and her husband Todd Donkin, Coleman, AB. and her step-daughter Joy McLaren, Calgary; twelve grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Gloria is also survived by her sister Annie Pincombe and her husband Percy, Calgary and her brother Charles Phillips and his wife Grace of Dease Lake, BC. Louth, Ruth
Louth, Ruth of Turner Valley, passed away peacefully at the University of Alberta Hospital, Edmonton on August 17, 2005 at the age of 61 years. Ruth will be dearly missed by her husband of 44 years Pete, daughters Kim (Jason) of Red Deer, Christine (Larry) of Calgary and Laura (Bob) of Black Diamond and her beloved mother Rae Hutchison of Turner Valley, her grandchildren Curtis and Brett Smith, Rachel and Jessica Lee, Ryan, Brady and Katelyn Mikalson and Laurisa Anderson as well as her sister Shirley (Milt) Evans of Millarville and her brother Jim Hutchison of San Diego, CA. Ruth was predeceased by her father Jim Hutchison in 1975. Ruth and Pete owned and operated the Turner Valley Bowling Lanes from 1977 until 1996. Mercier, Daniel Anthony
Mercier, Daniel Anthony died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 20, 2005 after fifty years of life. Dan's passing came after a two and a half year battle with brain cancer. Dan's attitude throughout the ordeal was one of courage and inspiration; he handled the illness with uncomplaining grace and dignity, viewing each day as a gift. Dan was born on October 17, 1954 in Regina, Saskatchewan. His upbringing on Windrift Ranches south of Calgary impressed a love of the outdoors, mountains and the value of hard work. Upon graduation from the University of Calgary as an Engineer he spent his life working first in the Alberta oilpatch and later in the International oil and gas industry. Dan did not leave us willingly; he fought back from four surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. His undying spirit will remain in our hearts forever. Dan is survived by his wife Karen, his children David, Christine, Laurie, Jaclyn (Foster), Luke (Foster), Katie and Danielle, his loving parents Joseph and Elizabeth, his brothers and sisters, Peter (Kathy), Margaret Ariss (Paul), Joe (Ann), Jeanne Novak (Frank), Tom (Mary), Robert (Carolyn), Barbara (Doug Kary) and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Eric Wasylenko, Dr. Elizabeth McRae, Dr. Peter Forsyth and the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Center, the Okotoks/Black Diamond home care nurses and the nurses from "We Care" Home Health Services. Seidel, Elmer of High River passed away at the High River Hospital on August 30th, 2005 at the age of 84 years.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy.
At Elmer’s request there will be no service.
Cremation took place at Parklawn Crematorium.
