Clyde Owen Sutherland

A private inurnment will be held for Clyde Owen Sutherland, 78, of Fairfield.

No formal services are planned. Inurnment will be private at Fairmont Memorial Park, Fairfield.

Born Aug. 14, 1919, in Salt Lake City, Mr. Sutherland died June 25, 1998, at home after a long illness.

A 30-year resident of Fairfield, Mr. Sutherland served in the Air Force for 26 years, retiring in November 1967 as a chief master sergeant. After his retirement, he worked for the U.S. Civil Service for 26 years. He worked mostly in air-transportation-related jobs.

He was a member of the Air Force Association and the Sports Car Club of America. His hobbies included fishing and travel.

Mr. Sutherland is survived by his wife, Bernice of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey Ann and Craig  Jones of Esparto; sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Susan of Lansing, Tenn., and Eric and Lila of Tucson, Ariz.; mother, Ruth of Richland, Wash.; sister, Marjory Hansen of Richland; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the NorthBay Hospice Program, 1200 B. Gale Wilson Blvd., Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are handled by Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Samuel Baldwin Jr.

Funeral services for Samuel Baldwin Jr., 71, of Fairfield will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

The Rev. Sebastian Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Baldwin died June 28, 1998, in his home after a short illness.

Born July 28, 1926, in Montgomery, Ala., he had lived in Fairfield for the past 24 years. He served as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, and as a marine machinist on Mare Island for 13 years.

He was a member of the Solano Lions Club and the Tuskeegee Airmen. He loved to play golf and bowl.

Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife of 39 years, Esther; sons and daughters-in-law, H. Christopher and Belinda of Fairfield, and David and Shelia of Sacramento; stepsons and daughters-in-law, James and Veronica Boyd of Hayward, Ronald and Patricia Boyd of Hercules and Kenneth and Suzanne Boyd of Fremont; sister, Hattie Childrey of Mich.; brothers, Leroy of Fort Worth,  Texas, James of Mobile, Ala., Daniel of Moreno Valley, and Phillip of Mich.; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Edwin Joseph George

A private inurnment will be held for Edwin Joseph George, 81, of Suisun.

Mr. George died June 27, 1998, at NorthBay Medical Center after a short illness.

Born July 23, 1916, in Vallejo, he had been a resident of Suisun for one year. He worked as a salesman for Lang-Webb Pontiac in Vallejo and National Auto Parts of Vallejo for a combined total of 40 years.

Mr. George is survived by his wife, Katie of Suisun; daughter, Linda Mora of Dana Point; son, Joseph of Gordon Valley; sister, Alverna Lewis of Vallejo; grandsons, Gilbert Mora of Dana Point and James and Justin of Gordon Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fairfield Funeral Home.

Raymond Parker

A private inurnment will be held for Raymond Parker, 84, of Vacaville.

Mr. Parker died June 27, 1998, in Vacaville Convalescent and Rehibilitation Center after a short illness.

Born July 10, 1913, in Rhode Island, he moved to Vacaville 30 years ago. He was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as chief warrant officer for 30 years.

Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Jennie Hill of of Kingman, Ariz.; grandsons, Michael and Terry Hill, both of Arizona; grandaughter, Mary Barbour of Arizona; and great-grandaughter, Autumn Barbour of Arizona.

Memorial contributations can be made to NorthBay Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Vaca Hills Chapel.

Robert Horrace Warrick

Memorial services for Robert Horrace Warrick, 57, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Community Church, Vallejo.

Pastor Hanson Rogers will officiate. An inurnment will be held privately.

Mr. Warrick died June 27, 1998, in his home after a long illness.

Born Oct. 12, 1940, in Portland, Ore., he was a Vacaville resident for the past 22 years. After serving in the U.S. Army he worked as a sales manager for Xerox Corp. for 12 years and as a self-employed salesman for bulk mail services for three years.

Mr. Warrick is survived by wife, Eunice of Vacaville; daughter, Cherrise "JC" of Tracy; daughter and son-in-law, Bobbi Lynn Warrick-Marshall and Keith Marshall of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepdaughters, Stacey Tucker of Vacaville, Debbie Tucker of Vallejo; stepson and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jackie Gray of Vacaville; sisters, Anise E. Ritchie of Tracy, Beverley L. Strickland of Portland; twin brother, Richard Hersey of San Francisco; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1652 W.  Texas St., Suite 110, Fairfield 94533.

Arrangements are handled by Skyview Memorial Lawn.

James E. Corcoran Sr.

A wake will be held for James E. Corcoran Sr., 76, of Woodland will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Lillard Hall/Plainfield Fire Station on Road 95.

Born March 15, 1922, in Woodland, Mr. Corcoran died June 30, 1998, in Woodland.

He graduated from Woodland High School in 1941 and served in the U.S. Army from 1943-45.

Mr. Corcoran was employed by Justus Lawson, Medlock Dusters and was also a self-employed crop duster. He farmed locally for many years.

He enjoyed collecting rocks, traveling to Ireland, ocean crabbing and clamming as well as family functions.

He was preceeded in death by his wife, Ruth and his parents, John D. and Nora.

He is survived by his sons, James Jr. of Davis, Timothy of Orland, Michael of Dixon; daughter, Sharon Allee of Santa Rosa; stepdaughters, Jackie Bartch of Petaluma, Gina Finlay of Dixon, Lori McKay of Orland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Joyce, Robert and Marjorie, Dan and Janice, all of Woodland, Charles and Grace of Davis, Henry and Arthurine of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Melvin Culley, Margret and Bill Fletcher, both of Woodland, Kathleen  Jones of Lennoxville, Quebec, Anne and Francis Smith of Huntington, Ind., and Helen and Stanly Roberts of Crescent City.

Memorial donations can be made to the Yolo Hospice, the American Cancer Society or the Parkinson's Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of McNary's Chapel of Woodland.

Chaplain James Weinert Davis

Graveside services with full military honors for Chaplain James Weinert Davis, 77, of Fairfield will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Rockville Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Grove will officiate.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. after the graveside services at Fairfield Presbyterian Church. The Revs. William Witt, Edward Bollinger and Lance Laiblin will officiate.

Born May 27, 1921, in Chicago, Mr. Davis died June 30, 1998, at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force base.

A Fairfield resident for 22 years, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years.

He graduated from the University of Illinois in 1943 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He then served in he U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946 in New Guinea, Australia and the Philippines. In 1950, he graduated from the Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Philadelphia with a master's degree in divinity. In 1951, he received a master's degree in international relations from the University of  Pennsylvania. He then joined the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and served as a chaplain until he retired as a lieutenant colonel in June of 1980. From 1981 to 1989 he served as a chaplain at NorthBay Medical Center in Fairfield. He served as a pastor of parish care at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church from 1981 to 1996. He then served as a pastor emeritus from 1996 on.

He is survived by his wife, Grace of Fairfield; daughter and son-in-law, Marianne and Brent  Taylor of Cookeville, Tenn.; son, Jonathan of Fairfield; sister, Patricia Kreiss of Seattle; brother, Richard of Whittier; as well as two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made the Fairfield Presbyterian Church building fund, 2100  Pennsylvania Ave.

Arrangements are under the direction of Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Robert W. 'Bud' Hunter

A memorial service for Robert W. "Bud" Hunter, 86, of Vacaville will be 2 p.m. Aug. 30 at the Unity Church of Vacaville. The Rev. Vic Jenkins will preside.

His ashes will be scattered at sea.

Born July 8, 1911, in Oakland, Mr. Hunter died June 23, 1998, at Vacaville Convalescent after a long illness.

He was a driver for 25 years for AllTrans Express. He was an active boater.

Mr. Hunter is survived by his daughters, Carolgene and Barbara Doddington; son, William; sister, Dorothy Wiles; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the Friends of the Russian River or to Save the Redwoods League, P.O. Box 44614, San Francisco 94144-0001.

Arrangements are by the Neptune Society of Northern California.

Toby Charles Lanzarin Jr.

Funeral services for Toby Charles Lanzarin, Jr., 17, of Vacaville will be 1 p.m. Monday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Interment will be private in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. Members of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness will preside.

Born Nov. 21, 1980, in Palo Alto, Mr. Lanzarin died July 1, 1998, at VacaValley Hospital. He had lived in Vacaville the past year.

Mr. Lanzarin is survived by his wife, Corinda Hope of Vacaville; parents, Toby Charles and Anna of Vacaville; brother, Raymond of Vacaville; and sisters, Sophia and Evonna, both of Vacaville.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Jesse Alfred Bixler

A memorial service for Jesse Alfred Bixler, 76, of Suisun will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fairmont Memorial Park Chapel.

Rev. Robert Grove of Fairfield Presbyterian Church will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Billings Mont., Mr. Bixler died June 30, 1998, at his home.

He was a resident of Suisun for the past 20 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1941 to 1964. He was a jet engine mechanic and later worked in Intelligence and Personnel Administration. He retired from the Air Force as a master sergeant.

Following his military service, he worked in property management for the John Stewart Co. in Sausalito. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Vacaville.

Mr. Bixler is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Marcia of Fairfield; son, Kelly of Napa; daughters, Mickie Ferguson of Fairfield and Patsy of Vallejo; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Charles Dale Tingle

Funeral services for Charles Dale Tingle, 54, of El Dorado Hills, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfield.

The Rev. Murray Hollis will officiate. Burial will be in Suisun-Fairfield Cemetery.

Born Aug. 19, 1943, in Fairfield, Mr. Tingle died July 1, 1998, in Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto.

He was raised in Fairfield and graduated from Armijo High School in 1961. He worked as a lineman for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. for 20 years. He later worked for Southern California Edison for 10 years. A member of Cold Springs Country Club in Placerville, Mr. Tingle was an avid golfer. He also loved water sports and automobiles.

Mr. Tingle is survived by his daughter, Deanna  Jones of El Cajon; son, Charles Michael of Las Vegas; and sisters, Charlotte Willis of Auburn, Carol  Jackson of Napa and Virginia Reeves of Napa.

Visitation is 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.

Jerome 'Jerry' Bigelow

A memorial service for Jerome "Jerry" Bigelow, 78, of Stockton will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Travis Air Force Base Chapel, 200 Hacket St.

Born Dec. 28, 1919, in Windsor, Conn., Mr. Bigelow died July 3, 1998, in his home.

Mr. Bigelow enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1939 and served as a Flying Tiger. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a flight engineer after serving in World War II and the Korean War.

After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Bigelow worked as a commercial fisherman. A master wood craftsman, he owned and managed the Bigelow Unfinished Furniture and Antique Restoration stores in Vacaville and Vallejo.

Mr. Bigelow was a Mason and a member of the Solano Yacht Club, Stockton Singles, Parents Without Partners, and the Lions. He was a 49ers fan and enjoyed football, dancing, golfing, fishing, gardening and reading.

He is survived by his daughters, Faith Beckwith of Stockton, Grace Schick of Sacramento and Hope Nemie of Stockton and Vacaville; grandchildren, Kenneth Havens, Lori Bowen, Anthony Decko, Michael Beckwith, Matthew Beckwith, Christopher Schick, Gianna Nemie and Angelo Nemie; great-grandchildren, Michael Bowen Jr., Karmen Havens, Maryssa Beckwith, Emily Beckwith, and Christian Brown; nieces, Grace Conover and Jane Ellen; nephews, Norman and Eugene; and his former wife of 35 years, Phyllis.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1212 N.W. Robinwood Drive, Suite 5-D, Stockton 95207, or the American Cancer Society, 207 E. Alpine Ave., Stockton 95204.

Claude LeVerne Harris

Funeral services for Claude LeVerne Harris, 61, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Baptist Church.

Pastor Milton Steck will officiate. Burial will be in the Rockville Cemetery.

Mr. Harris died July 3, 1998, in Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Sacramento after a short illness.

Born May 29, 1937, in Vallejo, he lived in Vacaville and Solano County for 45 years. He worked as a project manager with Aerojet for 25 years. He retired in 1992. He was the owner and operator of Paragon Darts in Vacaville for the past five years. He was a member of the Vacaville Elks Lodge No. 2638.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 38 years, Darlene; son and daughter-in-law, David and Shawn of Pleasanton; son, Jeffrey Harris of Hayward; sister, Winona Fevang of Vacaville; grandson, Hayden Harris of Pleasanton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 2425 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento 95817.
