Samuel Benjamin Trueblood
A memorial for Samuel Benjamin Trueblood, 41, of Vacaville will be 5 p.m. today in Valley Church.
Born Jan. 5, 1957, at Johnson Air Force Base in Japan, he died of a heart attack March 27, 1998, in Vacaville.
He lived in Vacaville 21 years.
Mr. Trueblood had a home-based business and had worked for Deluxe Check Printers, Benicia Industries Mazda Port and Vacaville Christian Academy.
He enjoyed playing drums for the Awana Club and attending worship services at Valley Church.
Mr. Trueblood is survived by his wife, Kim; daughter, Jenna of Vacaville; sons, Ben and Kyle of Vacaville; brother, Ed; and sister, Mary.
Contributions may be made to a memorial fund established for Mr. Trueblood's children's Christian education, or toward a drum set for Valley Church and the Awana Club.

Angelo G. Panagiotou
Funeral services for Angelo G. Panagiotou, 68, of Vacaville will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Nadeau Family Funeral Home.
The Rev. Constantine Pappademos of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church in Elk Grove will officiate. Interment will follow in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Born Aug. 18, 1929, in Daly City, Mr. Panagiotou died March 30, 1998, at home in Vacaville after a sudden illness.
A resident of Vacaville for the past 25 years, Mr. Panagiotou was a self-employed financial adviser for the past 35 years.
He was a member of the Yolo Flyers Club and the Greek Orthodox community.
Mr. Panagiotou is survived by his wife, Sophia of Vacaville; daughters, Kathryn Jabour of Vacaville and Angela Galioto of Trubocco Canyon; brother, Andy of Ocean Shores, Wash.; and grandchildren, Athena, Jared, Justin and Alexa Galioto, all of Trubocco Canyon.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home, 180 E. Monte Vista Ave., Vacaville. A Trisagion Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Ernest W. Rode
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Ernest W. Rode, 80, of Vacaville at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Benedict Leon will preside.
A Rosary will be held before the service at 12:45 p.m. Burial will be in Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery.
Born Jan. 21, 1918, in Washington, Mr. Rode died March 30, 1998, at his home after a long illness.
A resident of Vacaville for 13 years, Mr. Rode was a stationary engineer for 20 years and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was an avid fisherman and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of Vacaville; son, Will of Concord; daughters, Sharon Connor, Violet Sue Rode and Rachael Wooldridge, all of Vacaville; sisters, Alma Southard of Renton, Wash., Rose Dragovitch of Buckley, Wash., Lillian Neiders of Los Banos, Irma Harmson of Portland, Ore., Edna Gauthier of Port Townsend, Wash., and Norma Smith of Sacramento; brothers, Robert and Rube of Washington and Wally of Idaho; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Vaca Hills Chapel.

Mable Esther Gerard
Memorial services for Mable Esther Gerard, 91, of Fairfield will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
The Rev. Vic Matson will officiate. Inurnment will be in Nebraska City, Neb.
Born Dec. 29, 1906, in Auburn, Neb., Mrs. Gerard died March 29, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.
Mrs. Gerard lived in Fairfield for 26 years. She was a homemaker for 30 years and enjoyed traveling, crocheting and other handcrafts, as well as reading.
Mrs. Gerard is survived by her daughter, Nora Mae Holdsworth of Fairfield; sister, Bertha Galloway of Lincoln, Neb.; brother, Barton Letellier of Lincoln.; grandchildren, James Holdsworth of Fairfield, Terry Holdsworth of Rodeo and Patti Borges of Vacaville; great-grandchildren, Tina Holdsworth of Rohnert Park, Jennifer Holdsworth of Pinole, Kari, Sara and Manuel Borges, all of Vacaville, and Dana Baldwin of Rodeo; and great-great-granddaughter, Jordon Baldwin of Rodeo.
Martha E. Werlein
Private services and burial will be held for Martha Elizabeth Werlein, 82, of Fairfield.
Born Feb. 22, 1916, in Kidder, S.D., Mrs. Werlein died March 30, 1998, at her Fairfield home. She was a homemaker for more than 29 years, and lived in Fairfield for 13 years.
Mrs. Werlein is survived by her daughters, Greta Mae Anderson of Cheppaewa Falls, Wisc., Kathleen Rose Bown of Welcome, N.C., and Martha Margery Martin of Seattle, Wash.; sons, Thomas Joseph McCabe of Fairfield, Halvor John McCabe of Rockford, Ill., Daniel Marcus of Nashville, Tenn., and David Gerald of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Ann Rothwell of Palmdale; brothers, Marvin Christoperson of San Bernadino, and Halvor Christoperson of Palmdale; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Carolyn Lee Cain
Graveside services for Carolyn Lee Cain, 68, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at East Lawn Cemetery.
Born May 3, 1929, in Trentom, Pa., Mrs. Cain died April 1, 1998, at her Fairfield home after a long illness. She lived in Fairfield for two months.
Mrs. Cain worked as a registered nurse at St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Ariz. She worked as a registered nurse and a critical care nurse for 30 years.

John J. Rizo
A Catholic Prayer Service for John J. Rizo, 53, of Grass Valley will be 11 a.m. Monday at Nadeau Family Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at the Vacaville-Elmira Cemetery. The Rev. Vincent O'Reilly of St. Joseph Catholic Church will preside.
Born March 6, 1945, in Newfoundland, Canada, Mr. Rizo died April 1, 1998, at the University of California, Davis, Medical Center in Sacramento.
Mr. Rizo was in the Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He worked for Caltrans for the last 10 years. He was a graduate of Vacaville High School Class of 1964, and also attended Solano Community College for two years.
He lived in Nevada City for the past 16 years, and previously lived in Vacaville. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, No. 861, Vacaville.
Mr. Rizo is survived by his parents, Helen and Mickey Reguera of Vacaville; sisters, Pajie Utz of Vacaville, Mariaelena Anselmo of Dixon, Michele Serrao of Vacaville and Julie Baracosa of Napa; brothers, Randy of Vacaville, Richard Reguera of Vallejo, Robert Reguera of Sonoma and Joseph Reguera of Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Reguera, in 1973.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Nadeau Family Funeral Home. A rosary will be 5 p.m. Sunday.

Merrill William Paolini
Memorial service for Merrill "Mel" William Paolini, 85, of Birds Landing will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Shiloh Church, Birds Landing.
The Rev. Larry Kidwell will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
Mr. Paolini died April 2, 1998, in NorthBay Medical Center after a long illness.
Born June 22, 1912, in San Rafael, he moved to Birds Landing 50 years ago. He was owner-operator of Mel's Bird Landing Club for 50 years.
Mr. Paolini grew up in Elmira and attended Vacaville schools, graduating from Vacaville High School in 1930. He served in the Navy in World War II. He was an avid sports fan.
Mr. Paolini is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley of Birds Landing; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ben Villarreal of Benicia; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Mare Winters of Birds Landing, and daughter-in-law, Betty Campbell of Canada; grandchildren, Danny Winters of Rio Vista, Julie Winters of Birds Landing, David Winters of Canada and Ben Ringer of Davis; sisters, Mary Foster, Dolly Fernandez and Edith Keller, all of Vacaville; brother, Harry of Sacramento; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to charity of donors choice.

Fred F. Pryor
A memorial Mass for Dixon's former Police Chief Fred F. Pryor, 62, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters Catholic Church in Dixon.
Father Maurice O'Brien will preside. Inurnment will be in Silveyville Cemetery.
Mr. Pryor died April 1, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.
Born Oct. 15, 1935, in Ada, Okla., he moved to Dixon 28 years ago. He worked two years in the U.S. Army Command General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.
His law enforcement career began with the Solano County Sheriff's Office in 1957. He later worked for the Fairfield Police Department. After 21 years in law enforcement, he retired in 1978 as the chief of police in Dixon. He was a member of the Solano County Retired Peace Officers Association.
"He served well and was a very fine man," said former Dixon Mayor and councilwoman Maureen Southwell Friday.
"He was a good police chief for Dixon when it still was a pretty small community," Southwell added. "He rose up from the ranks and I'm sorry to hear about his death."
Mr. Pryor was an avid outdoorsman and his three granddaughters were said to be the joy of his life.
Mr. Pryor is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kathleen of Dixon; sons and daughters-in-laws, Steve and Karen, and Greg and Shaun, all of Dixon; daughter, Kelly Pryor of Anaheim; mother, Ruth Green of Fairfield; sister, Sabra Colmenero of Watertown, S.D.; granddaughters, Katelyn, Karlie and Allison Pryor of Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Helen Louise Wedel
Private family services will be held for Helen Louise Wedel, 82, of Fairfield. Inurnment will also be private.
Mrs. Wedel died April 2, 1998, in Fairfield after a long illness.
Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Wilsey, Kan., she lived in Fairfield for 1 1/2 years. She began studying the violin at age 3 and won many statewide competitions and later a scholarship to McPherson College in McPherson, Kan.
She married Clarence E. Wedel in December 1941. He died in a tragic accident a year later while on an Army Air Corps rescue mission in Greenland.
A daughter was born a month after the death of her husband, and Helen moved to Wichita, Kan. She attended Wichita State University, receiving both her bachelor's and master's degree in elementary education with honors.
She then taught for more than 15 years in the Wichita Public School system. She was a member of the Kansas Gold Star Wives Club, Eastern Star, NEA, and the Wichita State University Alumni Association.
Mrs. Wedel was an avid bridge player, a member of the AAUW, and enjoyed attending the theater in San Francisco.
Mrs. Wedel is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Reba and Jim Greathead of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; brother, Billy B. Burton of Vacaville; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; a nephew; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations to donor's charity of choice are preferred.

Joseph Louis Azevedo
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Louis Azevedo, 85, of Dixon will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Catholic Church in Dixon.
The Rev. Maurice O'Brien of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Dixon's Silveyville Cemetery.
Born April 12, 1912, in Gridley, Mr. Azevedo died April 3, 1998, in his Dixon home after a long illness.
He moved to Solano County in 1932 and had been a highly respected farmer for 70 years.
He was a longstanding member of the Dixon Fire Department and a member of the California State Firefighters Association. He became a charter member of the Fairfield Elks Club 43 years ago and was a charter member of the El Macero Golf Club in Davis.
He was assigned a special deputy designation by the Solano County Sheriff's Department in 1955 and was a member of the Redmen of America.
Mr. Azevedo shared his life with his wife, Mary, "Mae," for 62 years.
He also is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Vicki of Dixon; son, Dale of Vacaville; sister, Mary Wedge of Modesto; brother, Tony of Sonoma; granddaughter, Anne Maria of Dixon; grandson and wife, Joe and Marcia of Dixon; and great-grandchildren, Amaretta and Joey, both of Dixon.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church.

Ronald Jon Hiramatsu
A memorial service for Ronald Jon Hiramatsu, 51, of Vacaville will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Nadeau Family Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 19, 1946, in Sacramento, Mr. Hiramatsu died April 3, 1998, in his Vacaville home after a long illness. He lived in Vacaville for 18 years.
He had been a mechancial engineer with Anheuser-Bush Cos. for 19 years. He also was an Army veteran during the Vietnam era.
He graduated from Winters High School in 1964, and the University of California, Davis. He was involved with 4-H in Vacaville and Dixon.
Mr. Hiramatsu is survived by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Suzanne of Vacaville; parents, Roy and Helen of Winters; brother, Dennis of Winters; and sister, Julie of Grass Valley.
