HARTMAN, LOIS E. Of Red Bluff, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001, age 90. She was born in Maxwell, CA on July 10, 1911, and was a former resident of Sacramento. She was an accountant. She is survived by a daughter, Junia Potter, West Sacramento; son and daughter-in-law Ronald & Mae Hartman, Gerber, CA; sisters Phyllis & brother-in-law Paul Lawson, Bakersfield, CA and Edna Reid of Sacramento; brothers Ross Pearson, Maxwell, CA and Don & sister-in-law Connie Pearson, Maxwell, CA; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hartman was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Hartman; one granddaughter in 1997; and 1 great-grandson in 2001. HOFMANN, NETTIE Passed away in Sacramento on November 2, 2001 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Hofmann and loving mother of Mary Ellen Hofmann. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen Hofmann and son-in-law, Mr. Donald W. Thamer of Fair Oaks, Ca., and her sister, Mrs. Florence Maaser, of Taree, NSW, Australia. Mrs. Hofmann was married for 52 years to a Navy Veteran, and, after traveling the world, settled in Rancho Cordova in 1974. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 10497 Coloma Rd., Rancho Cordova, Ca., 95790, at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 9, 2001.

KEYS, CAROLE JEAN Born March 15, 1939 in Sacramento, CA. Passed away peacefully at her home on November 1, 2001 with her family at her side. Loving wife of Ralph Keys for 36 years; also survived by her daughter Katherine Keys of Rancho Cordova; daughter Stacey McAtee and husband Erin of Folsom; step-sons Randall and Clayton Keys of Tennessee. She volunteered her time to many organizations including Kiwanis Family House and V.I.P.S (Volunteer in Partner with Sheriff's Department). She was a member of American River Kiwanis, the California Teacher's Association and the National Education Association. She attended University of Davis and received her B.A. and Teaching Credential from California State University, Sacramento. She was an elementary school teacher for 36 years and had a great love for her students. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. KILE, FRANCES In Sacramento, November 4, 2001. Preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Leo L. Kile. Loving mother of Leo L. Kile, Jr. and wife Luann of  Texas, Robert G. Kile and wife Pat of Loomis, Vera Lane and husband Erv of Sacramento and Henry A. Kile of Sacramento. Devoted grandmother to Lisa, Larry, Lori, Phillip, Robert, Jr., Melinda, Jeanette, Janel, Mike, Kelly, Kathy and Theresa. Great-grandmother of 28. Beloved sister of Kathryn Girodo of Colorado and Tony Langoni of Tennessee. Also survived by numerous other relatives and friends. A resident of the Sacramento/Elk Grove area 41 years. A native of Colorado, aged 79 years. KOLENSKI, EUGENE CHARLES (GENE/SKI) Passed away Monday, November 5, 2001, at his cabin in Jackson, Ca. He lived in the Sacramento and  Jackson areas for over 31 years. He was born October 20, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Chester P. and Genevieve Kolenski. Gene served in both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force for 26 years. He was assigned to the Strategic Air Command throughout his Air Force career and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. During his Army tour he was assigned to Joint Special Operations units. Among his many awards were the Bronze Star with Valor and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm. He was retired from McClellan Air Force Base, Transit Alert Section, where he utilized his expertise as a jet mechanic for 18 years. He referred to this job as the best one he ever had. The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, of Amador County; the North Star Masonic Lodge No. 46, Glasgow, Mt; and the 11th Airborne Association, were organizations to which he belonged. His favorite things were helping people in need, caring for animals, and using "magic" to pull coins from children's ears to their joy and amazement. He was a great story teller and was loved by many. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Marti), and their four daughters, Kellie Kolenski of Sacramento, Ca., Kara Morin & husband Nick Morin of Temecula, Ca., Kathy Randolph of Sacramento, Ca., Kristi Kolenski of Patterson, Ca., brothers Thomas of Elizabeth City, NC. John of Feasterville, Pa., and Charles of Salem, Va., and five grandchildren, Joseph, and Sara Trudel of Temecula, Ca., Austyn and Haley Randolph of Sacramento, Ca., and Miranda McDonald of Patterson, Ca. A remembrance of life will be held at the following residence in Jackson, 20050 Meadowood Dr. Jackson, Ca., on Sat, November 10, 2001 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Call family for directions.

KROOK, MARIE "MAYEN" AMALIA Passed away in Elk Grove, November 2, 2001 at the age of 89. Loving mother of Gordon Krook, and daughter-in-law Nicola. Cherished grandmother of Mayen and Eric. Adoring great-grandmother of Luke, Nathan, and Levi. Preceded in death by husband Eric Krook and brother Clarence Anderson. She also leaves a host of cousins and friends. Marie loved her Swedish Heritage, a master of the language and celebrating Swedish customs. Marie adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, reading, and playing the piano. She often made old fashioned antique toys for her great-grandsons. At Marie's request no services will be held, but donations may be made to the Childrens Home Society of California, 1337 Howe Avenue #210, Sacramento, Ca 95825.

LASONIO, MARIAN (PAT) GRACE Age 96, died on November 6, 2001. She was born June 2, 1905 in North Columbia, Nevada County, California. She was the daughter of E.B. (Brownie) Dudley and Eliza Curnow Dudley. Mr. Dudley was a member of the Nevada County Board of Supervisors for 4 terms and was serving as Chairman when the Nevada County Courthouse was completed. The Dudley and Curnow families were early settlers in Nevada County in the middle 1800's. Mrs. Lasonio attended grade school in North Bloomfield, California. She graduated from Nevada City High School and then attended Heald Business College in Sacramento. Mrs. Lasonio worked for the California Almond Growers, Breuners, the Circular Letter Company and the State of California from which she retired in 1965. Mrs. Lasonio was predeceased by her husband James in January 1981 after 46 years of marriage. Mr. Lasonio worked for the Thompson Diggs Company for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1965. She was also predeceased by her brother E. Lloyd Dudley and her sister Verda Kempster. Mrs. Lasonio is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and Jack Hoss of Grass Valley, California. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Cynthia Strickley of Bloomington, Illinois, Linda Adams of Bakersfield, California, Steven Ross of Grass Valley and 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lasonio also has many cousins in Nevada County and Marysville and a niece and nephew. Mrs. Lasonio resided in Sacramento for 65 years. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Sacramento. She enjoyed gardening, Bridge, sewing and travel. After a stroke in 1990 she resided at the Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley. The family requests no flowers and prefers donations to the Sacramento S.P.C.A., The Sutter Foundation or Sacramento Easter Seals in memory of Mrs. Lasonio. Visitation will be at Chapel Of The Angels, 250 Race Street in Grass Valley, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 from 12:00 to 5:00 PM. There will be graveside prayers at East Lawn Cemetery, 43rd and Folsom Blvd., Sacramento on Friday, Nov.9, 2001 at 11:00 AM. The officiating priest will be The Rev. James M. LOHEIT, ROBERT E. 87 years old. Born October 15, 1914. Loving husband of Marjorie for 65 years. Father of Dennis, wife Karen and son Lawrence, both of Sacramento. Grandfather of Sheryl Van Maren, Husband James, Steven Loheit, wife Susan, all of Sacramento, Michelle Fry and Jason Loheit, both of Citrus Heights. Great grandfather of 7. Brother of Myrtle, husband Robert Duensing of Sacramento. Preceded in death by his younger brothers, Arthur F. Loheit and David R. Loheit. A native Northern Californian, born in San Francisco brought to Sacramento in 1919, resident of Sacramento for the past 82 years. A graduate of Sacramento High School, January class of 1933. Served as chair of class reunions in 1953, 1963, 1973 and 1993. He attended both Sacramento Junior College and the McGeorge College of Law. Actively involved in the consumer credit industry for more than 40 years. Past president of the following: 20-30 Club #1 Sacramento, Sacramento Better Business Bureau, Sacramento-Yolo Legal Aid Society, National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees and various social and dancing clubs. He also held statewide offices for many years in both the California Association of Personal Property Brokers and the California Association of Industrial Bankers. A reception will be held Tuesday, November 20th, at the Radisson Hotel, 500 Leisure Lane from 5PM - 7PM. Remembrances to an institution of your choice or to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.

MCCONNELL, BARBARA E. Born Oct. 11, 1927, passed away on Nov. 6, 2001. Beloved wife of 54 yrs. to Frank L. McConnell and loving mother of Debra J. Olson & Jim F. McConnell. She had five grandchildren, Brooke & Caitlin Olson of Reno, NV and those of her son, Ryan, Torrey & Brett McConnell of Boise, ID all whom she loved very much. She was raised in Stockton, maiden name of McGregor and a graduate of Stockton High School class of 1945. Most of her married years she lived in Walnut Creek, she loved golf and was a member of Contra Costa Country Club for 17 years. She was kind, loving and had a great sense of humor. She will be sorely missed. She is now in the hands of God. NICHOLAS, MARGIE R. Passed away peacefully on November 6, 2001 after a sudden illness at age 76. She was the beloved wife of Lewis Nicholas for 58 years. She worked by his side in their family owned floor covering business for 45 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was deeply devoted to her family. She was a talented crafter and gave much joy to her family with her beautiful gifts. She is survived by seven children: Sherry McCall, Santa Rosa, CA; Steve Nicholas (Joann), Gilroy, CA; Lyle Nicholas (Theresa), El Dorado Hill CA; Ann Small (Jim) Mill Valley, CA; Tawna Cooley, Mill Valley, CA; Reed Nicholas (Julie) Doncaster, England; and Lane Nicholas (Pam), Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. There will be a private internment on Friday, November 8, 2001. MOLONEY, FATHER JOHN J. Retired priest of the Diocese of Sacramento, passed away on Monday, November 5, in Sacramento. Father Moloney was born in County Galway, Ireland in 1931. He was ordained for the Diocese of Sacramento in 1958 at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Thurles, Ireland. He served as Assistant Pastor to St. Joseph Parish, Crescent City; St. John the Baptist Parish, Chico; Our Lady of Lourdes, Colusa; St. John the Baptist Parish, Folsom; St. Peter's Parish, Sacramento and St. Philomene Parish, Sacramento. Father served as Pastor to Immaculate Conception Parish, Downieville, St. Thomas, Oroville and Immaculate Conception Corning, retiring in 1996. Since his retirement, he has lived in Sacramento. Father was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary. He is survived by his twin sister, Lucy Rumble, of Liverpool, England, Sister Emilian, S.M. of Belfast, Ireland; brother, Michael of County Galway and brother Patrick and sister-in-law Patricia of Ireland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland. A vigil service will be held at St. Philomene Church, Sacramento, on Thursday, November 8, at 7:30 p.m. and the funeral Mass also at St. Philomene Church, at 12 noon on Friday, November 9. Burial will be in Ireland.

BERNHARDT, GERALDINE In Carmichael on November 4, 2001. Beloved wife of 51 years of Morris Bernhardt; Loving mother of Lou Ann Cuddy; She is also survived by 1 sister. She was a native of Arkansas and had resided in the Sacramento area since 1966. She was 83 years of age. Friends are welcome for visitation at East Lawn Mortuary, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento on Thursday, November 8, 2001 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and for services on Friday at 10:00 AM, also at East Lawn Mortuary. BIELAWSKI, DORIS F. Doris F. Bielawski passed away Saturday, November 3rd, 2001 at Kaiser Hospital in Roseville, She was 78 years old. Mrs. Bielawski was born in Wilkes- Barre, PA on March 4, 1923 to Alex and Rose Megatulski. She was one of four children. She was a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital in Montclair, NJ for 12 years before marrying and starting a family raising two sons. She was a long time Sacramento resident and lived in Citrus Heights until her death. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Bielawski is survived by her sons Tom Bielawski and his wife Kit of Davis, and Walter Bielawski and his wife Barbara of Citrus Heights. She is also survived by her grandchildren: T.J. and Megan Bielawski of Davis, and Melissa, Briann, Samantha, and A.I. Bielawski of Citrus Heights. She is further survived by Her brother Bob Megatulski of PA, and her two sisters Leona Wolfe of PA, and Betty Megatulski of Carmichael. Services for Mrs. Bielawski are private and under the direction of Davis Funeral Chapel.

BURNS, KEENO IN LOVING MEMORY OF KEENO On December 25, 1948, in Denver, CO, Wilbert Keeno Burns was born. He graduated from Widefiled High School in Security, CO and attended City College in San Francisco, CA. He also had a short tour in the U.S. Army. Keeno was a very talented drummer. His love of music began while he was in the 9th grade. He played drums professionally his entire career both nationally and overseas. His love of music and drums was unending. He leaves to grieve: his wife, Roxann Middleton Burns, and her family and friends; two sons, Geoffrey Burns of Petosky, MI and little Jordan Riverhawk Burns of Sacramento, CA; his grateful parents Bernice and Willie Burns of Vacaville, CA; all of his uncles, aunts, cousins; and an abundance of musicians he has loved playing with over the years. Because of his respect, and sincere compassion for others, he was loved by all who's life he touched. Keeno's oldest son said "God must be getting a band together and needed a good drummer." Keeno will be deeply missed. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 8th at 2p.m. at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 2130 4th Street (4th & V Street ), Sacramento. Rev. Darryl Heath will officiate the service.
