Lorna Doria
July 5, 1950 - July 26, 2003
Ms. Lorna Doria passed away Saturday at age 53 in Vallejo.
Born July 5, 1950, in San Franado Pampanga, Philippines, she had a love for learning and was a teacher while in the islands. When she made her move to the United States, she continued to teach. Lorna taught autistic children to feel special in Rodeo at St. Vincent, where she was a third-grade teacher for three years.
Ms. Doria enjoyed music, had a passion for dancing and cared for the well-being of her family and students.
She was predeceased by her father, Maximino Doria, in 2002.
Remembering her with love, she leaves her husband, Dennis Ang; daughters, Diane, Anika and Bianca of Vallejo; mother, Carmelita of Vallejo; sisters, Nilda and Myrena Paule of the Philippines, Carlyn Elcar of Florida and Berna Butron of New York; and brothers, Erwin of Roseville, Dennis of Greece and Ande of Vallejo.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Vallejo. Iinurnment will be private. Arrange-ments are under the direction of Struble Family Funeral Services.
Robert Mantanona
July 3, 1927 - July 21, 2003
Robert Taitague Mantanona, 76, a longtime Vallejo resident, died July 21 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-Fresno.
Born in Guam, he served in the Air Force as a technical sergeant for 21 years, retiring in 1972. He also worked as a machinist for Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 14 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Dorothy; daughters, Yvonne Mantanona of Clovis and Jane Cruz of Guam; sons, Robert Jr. of Vallejo and Ken (Bernie) Lujan of Guam; and one grandchild, Samari Chase Mantanona.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Angelina Taitague, and brothers, Jesus Taitague and Ramon Taitague.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo.
A Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Basil's Catholic Church, Vallejo. Burial will be at All Souls Catholic Cemetery.
Nicolas V. Espinoza

Nicolas V. "Nico" Espinoza, 76, died Thursday at his home in San Francisco.
Visitation will be 3 to
8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Valente, Marini, Perata & Co., 4840 Mission St., San Francisco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral, Gough and Geary Streets, San Francisco. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma.
Contributions are preferred to Fathers & Brothers of Maryknoll, P.O. Box 302, Maryknoll, NY 10545-9913. Arrangements are under the direction of Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo.
Margarita Sanchez
1912 - July 25, 2003
Margarita Sanchez, 91 of Fairfield, died Friday in Fairfield.
A visitation is planned from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Amateo Cortes officiating. Entombment will be at Fairmont Memorial Park.
Paul A. Dover
April 22, 1917-Aug. 2, 2003
Paul Dover, 86, of Gilbert, Ariz., passed away Saturday at home following a short illness.
Born in Hinton, Okla., Mr. Dover lived in Napa for 20 years and Vallejo for 30 years. He also resided in Gilbert, Ariz., for one year.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II and an automotive inspector for Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 36 years before retiring in 1977. He was also a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Vallejo from 1950 to 1999.
He is survived by his daughter, Paula F. Dover of Seattle, Wash.; son, Dennis P. (Irene) Dover of Gilbert, Ariz.; sister, Pauline Whisenhunt, of Redding; brother, Jim Dover of Vallejo; grandchildren, Sarah Murray of Gilbert, Ariz., Kim Fallin of Napa; and great-grandchildren Kelsie Fallin of Napa and Taylor and Kaden Murray of Gilbert, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina, in December 1999.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 at Skyview Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at Skyview Funeral Chapel followed by burial at Skyview Memorial Lawn.
Krispin Calunsag Selim

Krispin Calunsag Selim, 77, of Reno, formerly of Vallejo, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at Washoe Progressive Care Center of natural causes. He was born Oct. 25, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He joined the U.S. Navy during World War II and was discharged honorably in December of 1947. He married Margaret Fernandez. He began working for the civil service as a submarine inspector and retired in 1981. He and his wife moved to Reno in September of 1984 from Vallejo. He began working for Reno Citi-lift as a driver for the elderly and worked there 11 years. He enjoyed bowling in the senior leagues for 19 years at the AMF Starlight Lanes. He was also a sports enthusiast supporting the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers and watching golf, especially Tiger Woods. He enjoyed dancing and gaming at Cal-Neva where he was friends with many of the employees there.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Reno; sons, Krispin Selim Jr. of Elk Grove, and Fred Selim of Vallejo; daughters, Julie Ramos and Cindy Murillo of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Fred Selim.
Public visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Walton's Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, Nev., followed by a committal service at 7 p.m. Cremation will then take place with a private inurnment by the family. Arrangements are in the care of Walton's Sparks Funeral Home.

Betty (Swall) Dunn, 72, of Woodland and previously of Vallejo, died July 30 in Woodland.
A memorial service is planned at 1 p.m. Saturday at Woodland United Fellow-ship, Woodland.
