Charles Hinshaw
Died Sept. 20, 2002
Charles R. Hinshaw, 74, died September 20, 2002 after an extended illness.
Mr. Hinshaw was a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and a longtime resident of Vallejo.
He served in the U.S. Marines prior to coming to Vallejo, California in 1947.
He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 35 years, retiring in 1983. He was active in Pop Warner Football and Little League in the early 1960s.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell, two daughters, Mary Spinola of Vallejo, CA, and Kathy Parmaley, of Paulsbo, Wash.; step-son, James Trower of Seattle, Wash. and step-daughter Donna Peters of Clovis, CA. He has eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A viewing will take place at Boice Funeral Home, 309 Pollasky Ave, Clovis, CA from 1 to 2 p.m. Sept. 24. A Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Ave, in Colorado Springs.
Milagros Noveras
Oct. 13, 1960 -- April 1, 2003
Milagros Noveras, 42, died Tuesday in Kaiser San Francisco after a short illness.
She was born in Manila, P.I. and was a Vallejo resident for 14 years.
Mrs. Noveras worked as an office assistant at the Veterans Home in Yountville for 15 years.
She was an avid shopper, loved traveling and being with friends.
Mrs. Noveras was a member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church.
Mrs. Noveras was preceded in death by her father, Santos who died in 2000.
She is survived by her mother, Rosalina Tolentino; son, Marc of Minnesota; sister, Lydia Ragasa of the Philippines; and brothers, Santos Jr. of Va., Manuel of the Philippines, Armando of Vallejo, and Edgardo of Vacaville.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday and Tuesday at Colonial Chapels, 1000 Redwood St., Vallejo.
Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., April 8 at Colonial Chapels. A mass of Christian burial will be offered 11 a.m. April 9 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Burial will be at LaLoma Catholic Cemetery, Caloocan City, Metro Manila, the Philippines.
Jimmy Bartsch
(Jan. 21, 1973 - March 26, 2001)
Jimmy Lee Bartsch, 28, died unexpectedly in Walla Walla, Wash.
Mr. Bartsch was born in Walla Walla, Wash., and attended school in Washington, Schweinfort, Germany, San Francisco, Napa and Yakima, Wash. He enjoyed working in construction and was a resident of Washington at the time of his death.
Survivors include daughter, Jazmine of Bend, Oreg.; mother, Jo Ellen Headley of Vallejo; brothers, E'Dell of Vallejo and Joseph of Oklahoma; father, Robert; stepbrothers, Wayne Dean and Greg of Yakima, Wash.; step-sisters, Charlene and Debbie of Yakima, Wash.; grandparents, Joseph and Helene Eaves of Walla Walla, Wash; one aunt; one uncle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Yakima, Wash.

Patricia Lott
(July 12, 1951 -June 11, 2001)
Patricia Marie Lott, 49, died Monday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-Vallejo after a long illness.
Mrs. Lott was born in Wichita, Kan., and was a Vacaville resident for 23 years. She worked for Remax for 16 years as a quality control inspector and enjoyed entertaining, taking photos, sports - especially softball, football, basketball and boxing games - computers, and anything electronic.
Survivors include husband, George III; children, Antonio Bradford of Vacaville and Tenecia Wright of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Antonio Isiah Emmanuel Bradford Jr., Daisha Love Bradford, Dakari Bradford, and Donte Lamont Bradford, all of Vacaville, and Jacob Wright of Colorado Springs; and siblings, Roy Jr. and Gary Bobbitt, both of Wichita, Kan., Victoria and Ronnie Bobbitt, both of Ft. Worth, and Tracy Patterson of Los Angeles.
Visitation, 10 a.m. Saturday at Vaca Hills Chapel, 524 Elmira Rd., Vacaville. Funeral, 11 a.m. Saturday at Vaca Hills Chapel, with the Rev. Pat Manderville officiating. Burial, 10 a.m. Monday in Elmira Cemetery, Vacaville.
Contributions preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Josephine Davis
(July 16, 1911 - August 2, 2001)
Josephine I. Davis, 90, of American Canyon, died Thursday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vallejo following a brief illness.
A native of Duboise, Pa., Mrs. Davis became an American Canyon resident in 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Parish in American Canyon.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, James of American Canyon; daughter, Regina Sterley of American Canyon; son, Frank (Joan) Grimone of Pinehurst, N.C.; grandchildren, Robert, Brian, Mark, Jim and Diane; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Holy Family Parish.
Vermelle Welch
(Dec. 11, 1922 -- Feb. 9, 2002)
Vermelle M. Welch, 79, of Vacaville, died Saturday in a Vallejo hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Welch was born in Washington, D.C., and was a resident of Vallejo before moving to Vacaville. She was a printer for the U.S. Mint for 20 years, and then worked as a clerk at Macy's Department Store upon her retirement.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harry, in 1984.
Survivors are daughter, Zelma Brawner of Vacaville; brother, Stanley Carroll of Washington, D.C.; granddaughter, Elizabeth Langston of Vacaville; and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial at 1 p.m. Friday in the mausoleum chapel at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo, with Fr. Pat Stephenson of Holy Family Parish officiating. Inurnment follows in All Souls Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo.
