Flora Aguilar
July 25, 1928 -- Aug. 13, 2002
Flora Lozado Aguilar, 74, died at a local hospital Tuesday.
Mrs. Aguilar was born in the Philippines and was a Vallejo resident.
She was a homemaker, and a member of St. Basil's Catholic Church, and Banal Na Pagaaral.
Mrs. Aguilar was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene in 1974.
Survivors include her husband, Saturnino of Vallejo; daughters Priscilla (Gerry) Lamban of Vallejo; Perlita (Perry) Mauricio of Simi Valley; Josephine (Antonio) Mariano of Castro Valley; sons, Wilfredo (Angelita) and Danilo (Evelyn) of the Philippines; Abraham (Irma) of Fairfield; Saturnino Jr. (Elizabeth) of Chino; Eduardo of Vallejo; Reynaldo (Maritess) of New Jersey; Renato (Marilou) of Vallejo; sisters, Teodoro Decena of the Philippines; 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 1 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17, and Aug. 18 with 7 p.m. vigil at Colonial Chapels, Vallejo. A Mass will be held 10 a.m., Aug. 19 at St. Basil's Catholic Church, Vallejo. Services and burial in Valenzuela City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
Russell Locken
Sept. 10, 1925 -- Sept. 19, 2002
Russell L. Locken, 77, of Benicia died Sept. 19, in a local hospital after a long illness.
Born in Hallock, Minn., he was a resident of Benicia since1950.
Mr. Locken worked as a Marine Machinist Supervisor at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for over 31 years, before retiring in 1984.
He was a veteran of World War II and the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946 and was retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves.
Mr. Locken was a member of VFW No. 3928; American Legion; Fleet Reserve Association; Improved Order of Redman and former member of the Moose Lodge No. 468.
He liked to hunt and fish.
Mr. Locken was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Edna in 1997.
Survivors include his sons, Timothy of Eureka and Barry of San Diego.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
Arrangements are under the direction of Passalacqua Funeral Chapel.
Evelyn Robinson
Aug. 29, 1913 -- April 2, 2003
Evelyn Ruby Robinson, 89, died peacefully at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center-Vallejo after a long illness.
Born in Mobile, Ala., she was a Vallejo resident for 70 years.
She was a manager of the ladies department for 10 years with AGE Store in Vallejo.
She was an accomplished seamstress and was also accomplished in knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed working on many different crafts and sharing them with family and friends. She also enjoyed being a homemaker.
Survivors include her son, Ralph (Nancy) of Sacramento and her grandson, Chris, of Sacramento.
Arrangements made by Neptune Society of Northern California.
Winifred Buttrum
(Dec. 14, 1939 - March 30, 2001)
Winifred Yoshie Buttrum, 61, of Benicia, died Friday in a Vallejo hospital.
Mrs. Buttrum was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and was a Benicia resident for 26 years.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James of Benicia; son, Craig of Redding; sisters, Jackie Okahara of Honolulu, Hawaii and Patricia MacDonald of Los Angeles; brother, Clayton Matsumoto of Honolulu; parents, James and Tatsuko Matsumoto of Kurtistown, Hawaii; and grandchild, Gregory.
At her request, no services will be held. Arrangements by Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, Benicia.
Contributions preferred to Arthritis Foundation of the San Francisco Zoological Society.
Gail Horsted
Gail Horsted, 52, died at her home in Vallejo after a long illness.
Mrs. Horsted was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was a Vallejo resident for 46 years.
She was employed as a Psychiatric Technician at Napa State Hospital for 11 years.
She enjoyed baking and working on different types of arts and crafts.
Mrs. Horsted was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Snyder.
She is survived by her husband, Walt Quackenbush of Vallejo; daughter, Shelia Horsted of Vallejo; son, Chuck Horsted of Farmington, Missouri; sister, Carol Willett of French Village, Missouri and five grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, no services will be held. There will be a private Inurnment.

Rudi Kipperman
April 7, 1949 -- Aug. 8, 2002
Rudi A. Kipperman, 53, died at home August 8.
He was born in Indonesia, and had been a Benicia resident 12 years.
Mr. Kipperman is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cathy; sons, Michael of Vallejo; Daniel and Nathan of Benicia; and daughters, Rachael, Nicole and Julia of Benicia.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., August 17 at Calvary Community Church in Benicia, with Pastor Jerry Pollard officiating. Private inurnment.
