Ted Nicholson

Ted Nicholson, 70, died Sept. 18 in Fullerton.
Born to Robert and Grace Nicholson, Mr. Nicholson grew up in Vallejo before moving to Orange County.
He was an educator with the Anaheim School District for 38 years while also in pursuit of a musical avocation.
He is survived by his wife, Ann; son, Jim (Casey); brother, Don; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Sept. 28 at Dilday Brothers Mortuary in Huntington Beach. There will also be broadcast services on www.Eulogycast.com

Angell Manalo
March 31, 1978 -- Nov. 22, 2002
Angell Atup Manalo, 24, died on Nov. 22 in Daly City.
Mr. Manalo was born in Vallejo and was a Concord resident.
Mr. Manalo was a student studying the arts and a member of the Catholic Church.
He especially enjoyed composing music.
Survivors include his parents, Norma Knowles and Ricardo Manalo; grandparents, Emiliano Atup and Sergio (Basilia) Jacob; and his brothers, Ricky and Noel Manalo.
Visitation will be held 2 to 9 p.m. Nov. 27, with a 7 p.m. rosary at Valente Marini Perata & Co, 4840 Mission St., San Francisco. A Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Nov. 29 at Corpus Christi Church, 62 Santa Rosa Ave. in San Francisco, with Father Armand Olivari presiding.
Z. Henderson
Sept. 9, 1940 -- May 21, 2003
Z. H. Henderson, 62, of Vallejo died May 21 at Contra Costa County Regional Medical Center-Martinez after a long illness.
Mr. Henderson, who was born in Winchester, Ark., was employed by the state of California for more than seven years as a janitorial supervisor.
He enjoyed cooking and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Victoria Levendorfske of San Diego; sisters, Armanette Hayes of Vallejo, Nance Lee of Los Angeles and Francis Williams of Omaha, Neb.; brothers, L.C. Carter and Esaw Devers, both of Omaha, and Tommy and Isiah, both of Vallejo; and two grandchildren.
A visitation and quiet hour was held May 28 at Cooley & Riolo Mortuary, Inc., Vallejo. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. May 29 at Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, Vallejo. Burial will follow at San Joaquin National Cemetery.
Javell Woodson
(Jan. 27, 1981 - April 4, 2001)
Javell Ernest Vohn Woodson, 20, died Wednesday at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa, after a brief illness.
Born and reared in Vallejo, he attended North Hills Christian School and Springstowne Jr. High School. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1999. Mr. Woodson was a member of Good Samaritan M.B.C. before moving to Iowa, after his move he attended Greater Antioch Baptist Church in Rock Island, Ill. He sang and played drums for the church choir. Mr. Woodson was also an active member in bible study and Sunday school.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Leroy Sr.; great-grandmothers Bertha and Lizzie Raymond.
He is survived by his mother, Judy Woodson-Harold and step-father Marvin Harold; sisters, Nicole, Kristen, and his grandmother Frances.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, with quiet hour from 7 to 8 p.m. at Manigualt Funeral Home, Vallejo. Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Good Samaritan M.B.C., Vallejo. Pastor Marvin Slade and Pastor Lance Chaney of Greater Antioch Baptist Church in Illinois will officiate the service. Burial at Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo.
Winifred Hodges
(March 28, 1920 - June 7, 2001)
Winifred "Winnie" Lula Mae Hodges, 81, of Vallejo, died Thursday at a hospital following a long illness.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, fishing, cooking and singing.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly Franklin of Vallejo; Cynthia Garcia of Livermore; Latanya Lee of Sacramento and Carla Talbot; sons, Charles, Clarence, Ricky and Ronnie Sr.; sisters, Cecile Nelson of Vallejo; Imogene Collins of Oroville; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Manigault Mortuary, Vallejo. Service, 1 p.m. Thursday at Word of Life Church, Vallejo. Pastor Kenneth Bushnell will officiate. Burial follows.
Tom Ticer
Aug. 31, 1944 -- May 17, 2002
Tom A. Ticer, 57, died suddenly at home on Friday.
Born in Bakersfield, he had been a Vallejo resident more than 50 years.
He was a janitor at Napa State Hospital and the state of California from 1974 to 1995.
Mr. Ticer was a history buff who enjoyed reading, listening to music and animals.
His parents, John and Marie, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his brother, Jack, of Benicia; sister, Elena Massey of Antioch; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at noon May 25, at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, Vallejo.

Agnes Abraham
Nov. 28, 1914 -- Feb. 13, 2003
Agnes E. Abraham, 88, died on Feb. 13 at Vacaville Convalescent Rehab Center in Vacaville after a short illness.
Mrs. Abraham was born in Jackson, Minn. and was a Vallejo resident for 57 years.
She was a cafeteria manager for Vallejo City Unified School District for 20 years retiring in 1979.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
Survivors include her daughter, Agnes Nickison of Lewiston, sons, Leroy; and John of Vallejo; and Robert of Napa; sister, Helen Matasovksy of Coon Rapids, Minn.; brother, Andrew Gerda of Forest Hills, Minn.; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Skyview Memorial Lawn with Rev. David Prinz of First Luther Church of the Redeemer officiating. Burial will be at Skyview Memorial Lawn.
