JESSIE GARRETT
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Jessie Garrett passed away at her home just outside of Redding, Calif. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, surrounded by her husband and children. Jessie was born on June 7, 1944, to Herb and Mildred Cohen of Peekskill, NY.
Jessie, along with her husband Jay, retired from owning their own businesses in 2000. Since then they had traveled the world. She loved to golf, dance, shop, and spend time with her family and friends.
Survived by her husband, Jay, daughter Jill and son-in-law Jeff Atkinson of Susanville, Calif., sons Adam and Daughter-in-law Jo Ann Gerard of San Clemente, Calif., Bill and daughter-in-law Becky Gerard of Yorba Linda, Calif., Michael and Daughter-in-law Katie Garrett, Roger Garrett, Jeff and Daughter-in-law Susan Garrett all of Redding.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Trevor, Emily, Sarah, Chad, Spencer, Jordan, Jacob, Madeline, Will, Allison and Zack. She is also survived by her sisters, Elanore Flores of Tel Aviv, Israel and Pepi Alman of Randolph, Mass.

APRIL C. THOMAS
April C. Thomas, 46, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at her residence in Susanville. She was born April 30, 1959, in Albuquerque, N.M.
Thomas is survived by her husband Dennis Thomas, of Susanville; son Charles Jared Randal, of Reno, Nev.; daughter Amy Randal, of Reno, Nev.; parents Buck and Audrey Wormington, of Albuquerque; and sister Becky White, of Albuquerque.
A memorial service will be held at noon, Friday, March 3, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Richmond Road.
WILLIAM "BUCK" MULLANIX
William "Buck" Mullanix, 90, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2006. He was born Feb. 20, 1916, in McCooke, Neb., and had been a Lassen County resident for the past 60 years.
Mullanix was preceded in death by his son Wayne Clair Mullanix and two granddaughters.
Mullanix is survived by his wife Vivian, of Susanville; son David Lee Mullanix, of Marysville; daughters Jeanette Couch, of Greenville, and Maryianne Chandler, of Susanville; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
There was a viewing Feb. 27, 2006, at Walton's Chapel. A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at Diamond Crest Cemetery.
VIVA AUDENE LASATER
On Nov. 30, 2007, Viva Audene Lasater went home to be with the Lord. She was born Aug. 17, 1930 in Linn, Okla. Audene and her husband of 33 years moved to Doyle from Bakersfield, Calif. in 1952.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hollis Lasater, her parents Raymond Carter and Stella Carter, of Doyle, her grandson Carl Lasater, and son-in-law Dean Burnett.
She was a member of the Doyle Pentecostal Church of God. She and her husband donated the property the Long Valley Charter School is currently located on.
She is survived by her daughters Barbara Burnett, of Doyle; Brenda Cook, of Doyle; Nita Lasater, of Doyle; Ann Lasater, of Doyle; her son Hollis Eldred Lasater, of Doyle; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; her brothers Troy Carter, of Goodland, Kan.; Carl Carter, of Sonora, Calif., Kenneth Carter, of Annapolis, Md., Jerry Carter, of Spokane, Wash.; sister Aleen Lasater, of Everett, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at the Doyle Pentecostal Chapel, and a service will be at 10 a.m. on Sat. Dec. 8, 2007 at the Doyle Pentecostal Church. Burial will be at the Doyle Cemetery.
EDWARD GUSTAV WAGNER
Ed Wagner, 89, died on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, from complication of a neck injury.
He is remembered as a man who knew the concept of hard work and duty to his country.
Ed was born in Kenosha, Wisc. On June 3, 1919 to German/ Russian immigrants Gustav and Tilia Wagner.
At a young age, he and his family moved to Susanville, Calif. and lived on small farms.
Ed attended local elementary schools, Lassen High School and graduated from Greenville High School in 1936. He remembered all instructions and classmates from schools he attended.
Ed worked wherever he could: Red River Lumber in Westwood, a truck driver, and utility companies.
In May 1945, he married Barbara Burdick of Wheatland and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Ed is survived by his wife Barbara, son Eric Wagner and wife Jeri, of Susanville; granddaughter Erica Osborn and husband Dustin, of Susanville; and their three sons; daughter Victoria Shunin and Husband Mike, of Yuba City, Calif.; their son David, wife Jennifer and their three children; sister Edith Summers and brother Harold Wagner, of Standish.
Ed was a WWII veteran serving his country from the Aleutians to the Philippines.
After the military, he married and went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric from which he retired as superintendent of the electric department in San Francisco in June 1978.
He had a wonderful life and was dedicated to family. Being strong of will he faced all challenges, even at the end. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
No services will be held.
TINA MARIE ALEXANDER DEAN
Tina Marie Alexander Dean was born on March 23, 1956 at Potter’s Maternity Home in Susanville, Calif. to Mr. and Mrs. George Alexander, of Susanville, Calif. She died on Oct. 8, 2007.
She was a Lassen Union High alumni and was employed at The California Correctional Canter the last years of her life.
She is survived by her mother Jenny Alexander, her brothers Donald Alexander and wife Linda, of Johnstonville, and Earl Alexander, of Johnstonville, son Isen Peterson, daughter Tara Sanchez and three grandchildren, all of Susanville.
As well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private services followed cremation.
