JACK LEE HYDEN
Jack Lee Hyden, 57, died Monday Oct. 3 at his Fernley residence. He was born Nov. 16, 1947, in Redding,  Calif. to Hubert Lee and Flo Avant Hyden and had been a Fernley resident for the past five years coming from Carlin, Nev. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Linna; sons Scott (Stacy) Hyden, Gary Bond, both of Fernley, and Jeff Muir of San Jose, Calif; daughter Tammi (Kevin) Fargo, of Susanville, Calif; uncle George Leggett, of Winters, Calif; and four grandsons.
No services are scheduled at this time. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home and Crematory-Fallon.

CHARLES ELKINS
Charles Elkins, 73, passed away suddenly Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25, 2005, at his home in Janesville,  Calif. which he shared with his longtime companion Bernadette Hilton.
Charles was born in Mountain Pine, Ark. on Sept. 5, 1932, to the late George and Florence Elkins. He spent his childhood in Arkansas, then met and married his wife Dorothy on Oct. 6, 1950. They were together for 49 years until her death in 1999.
In 1962 he moved to Janesville from Southern California, living several years here, then on to Susanville,  Calif. Charles was an employee of the Sierra Pacific Mill and later became an employee of Lassen Forest Products until his retirement in 1982.
In earlier years he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping - killing a deer most every season. He always had a love of country music and played many instruments - guitar, keyboard and harmonica, and recently, violin. He stayed active by getting together for a little "pickin' and grinnin'" with his many friends. He liked to entertain and liked to plant and tend to his flowers every spring.
Charles is survived by his two daughters, Susan Millay and husband John, of Shady Grove, Ore., and Charlotte Dillon, of Loyalton,  Calif. Also surviving are grandchildren, Bonnie Harding, of  White City, Ore., James Allan, of Medford, Ore., and Heather Gouvas, of Texarkana, Ark.; and great-grandson, Mason Harding, of  White City, Ore.
He is also survived by brothers-in-law Rex Willhite (Pat) of Ringgold, La., Don Willhite (Bertie) of Bossier City, La., and sisters-in-law Helen (Wesley) Webb, of Hot Springs, Ark., Jewell Tweddell, of Susanville, and Eunice Woodson, of Spring,  Texas. Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Billy, and sisters, Georgia Fincher and Betty Sargent.
Graveside services were held at the Diamond Crest Cemetery in Johnstonville,  Calif. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005. The family requests that any donations please be made in Charles' memory to the American Cancer Society.

ELIZABETH "BETH" J. FULLINGIM
Elizabeth "Beth" J. Fullingim passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005, at her home in Susanville,  Calif.
She was born in Amarillo,  Texas on Dec. 21, 1925.
Beth was married to William "Slim" M. Fullingim on May 30, 1946, at Roswell. N.M.
Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1970. Her youngest son, Guy "Ben" Benjamin Fullingim, also preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 1987, in Carlin, Nev.
She is survived by her two sons, W. "Bill" M. Fullingim, of Castaic,  Calif., and Darrell E. Fullingim, of Stagecoach, Nev.; a daughter, Dorothy "Dottie" B. Knigge of Janesville,  Calif.; three brothers, Melvin Schneider of Dal Worthington Gardens,  Texas, Bob Schneider of Lake Arthur, N.M. and Fran Schneider of Hope, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beth retired from the V.A. Hospital in Los Angeles,  Calif. in 1992 after 22 years of service.
She moved to Janesville and lived for a short time with her daughter Dottie until moving in February 1993 to Susanville.
She was a member of both the "Jolly Elders" of Janesville and the "Susanville Senior Citizens."
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Slim at Eternal Valley Memorial Park and Mortuary in Newhall,  Calif.
The date of internment is pending.

ROBERT LOUIS BARTLEY
Robert Louis Bartley, age 60, went to the Lord and his infant son, Robert Louis Bartley II on Monday, Sept. 26, 2005.
He was born on June 30, 1945 in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
Robert was an avid fisherman, an outdoors man, an all around Mr. Fix-it, and an active member of the LDS Church.
Robert resided in Susanville with his wife Roberta for the past five years after coming from Placerville,  Calif., where they raised their children. After just a short time he became a friend to many and one people could depend on for help.
Robert could always be found around his house fixing or building something.
He was an everyday part of his grandchildren's lives and loved everybody around him.
He is survived by his wife Roberta; son Jason and former wife Cynthia, of Susanville; daughter Lisa Rinde, of Gridley; grandchildren Jacob, Jordyn, Jared and Trevor, of Susanville; Darrell Rinde, U.S. Air Force, Phillip Rinde, of Gridley; brothers and their wives Leonard and Sandy, and Louis and Patti, all of Placerville; twin sister Bonnie and husband David, of Placerville; sister Louise and husband Dave, of Calistoga; sisters Theresa and Cora, of Ft. Bragg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in his hometown of Placerville,  Calif., at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at the Westwood Hills Cemetery. A gathering to celebrate his life will take place after the services.
His family requests that any remembrances in his name be made to a charity of their choice.

CHARLIE PARKER
Charlie Parker, passed from this life to his eternal home at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at the Susanville Convalescent Hospital, with his family at his side.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years Frances W. (Cannon) Parker.
He was born Oct. 5, 1921, in Casa, Ark., to Robert Lee and Dora (Schoen hals) Parker.
Charlie was the youngest of seven children.
The six siblings were Glen, Gene, George, Pearl Atherton, Katie Pereczky, and Cordia Acker, who are all deceased.
Charlie came to Susanville,  Calif., at the age of 17. He lived his entire life in Lassen County.
In 1940 he married Frances Cannon.
They had three children; Charlene, Robbin and Richard.
Charlene married Warren Parker.
They have two sons, Jonathan and Theodore.
Robbin married Betty Rodgers and they have two daughters, Sarah Sharp and Megan Parker.
Richard Parker married Roxanne Reddoch.
Richard has three children, Juliah Encinas, Rich Parker and Anthony Parker.
Charlie has five great-grandchildren.
Charlie came to Susanville to work in the lumber industry as a timber faller.
He served three years in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He came home to Susanville and bought the Rio Grocery Store business.
He later purchased a milk business and made his livelihood the rest of his life selling milk as a distributor for Foremost Dairies for more than 30 years!
He resided in Susanville for 67 years.
He served as a board member for Lassen High School in the 1960s.
He also served as a board member for Lassen College! During 15 year tenure, the college purchased and built its new location.
He loved and served at the Assembly of God Church for many years.
He was a Charter member of the Gideon International Bible Society.
Serving together with Frances, Charlie was privileged to travel the U.S. in a RV and had wonderful years of hunting and fishing in America.
Donations can be made to the Gideons International Bible Society, P.O. Box 687, Susanville Camp, Susanville.
A memorial will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7, at the Assembly of God Church, 473-465 Richmond Road.
Graveside services will be held at Diamond Crest Cemetery with military honors! Reception will follow at the Assembly of God Church.
