Bill Fincher, 62, died on Jan. 17, 2004, in Folsom, Calif. He had been a resident of Lassen County for 55 years before moving to Sacramento five years ago for health reasons.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1941 in Cedar Vale, Kans. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Susanville and was very instrumental in organizing the United Methodist Men’s Club.
He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling, fishing and golf.
He loved and cherished his time with his family and grandchildren.
He had worked for Sierra Army Depot for many years and had been a member of the United States National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie.
He is survived by his wife, Sue of Sacramento; sons, Ricky Fincher of Leavitt Lake, Chuck Fincher of Garland, Texas; stepson, Bryan Rennie of Tucson, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Gina Miller of Seattle; brother, James Fincher of Princeton, Ind. and 10 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at the United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 24. Interment followed at Lassen Cemetery
with his parents.
Doris L. Wasson, 81, of Herlong, CA. died on January 1, 2004 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, NV.
She is survived by her husband Jimmy L. Wasson of Herlong, Calif.; her sons, Rodney Oaks (Faye) of Reno, Jimmie Oaks of Wash. and Lonnie Oaks of Wash.; daughter-in-law Rosemary Lyke (Ted) of Corvallis, Ore, two grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at Masonic Memorial Gardens in Reno, NV.
Arrangements under the direction of Neptune Society of Nevada.
Isaiah Lee Olivas, 9, and Tyler Terrance Olivas, 7, of Janesville and Doyle, both died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on March 24, 2004 in Lassen County. Their mother, Wendy Rebecca Azevedo-Rock also died in the accident.
Isaiah was born Sept. 16, 1994, in Susanville and Tyler was born Oct. 2, 1996, in Reno, Nev., to Roque Lee and Wendy Rebecca Azvedo-Rock.
Isaiah was a third-grader and Tyler was a first-grader at Janesville Elementary School.
Isaiah and Tyler are survived by their father, Roque Olivas of Doyle; their brothers, Lance Olivas and Devin Rock, both of Doyle; maternal grandparents, Kathy Yvonne and Richard Baughman of Janesville and Terry and Cynthia Azevedo of Susanville; paternal grandparents, Roque and Linda Olivas of Cold Springs, Nev.; maternal great-grandparents, Lillian Wright of Galt and Gilbert and Donna Azevedo of Susanville; paternal great-grandparents, Alfred Olivas of Sun Valley, Nev. and Melvin Cook of Doyle; uncles, Billy Olivas of Reno, Nev., and Garth and Austin Azevedo, both of Susanville; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Susanville.
Interment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows cemetery in Reno, Nev.
A trust fund for Isaiah and Tyler's brothers, Lance and Devin has been set up at Plumas Bank in Susanville.
Wendy Rebecca Azevedo-Rock, 27, of Janesville, along with her two sons, Isaiah and Tyler, died March 24, 2004, in Lassen County from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Wendy was born April 25, 1976, in Susanville to Terrence and Kathy (Wright) Azevedo. She was a 1994 graduate of Herlong High School and had been studying radiology at Truckee Meadows Community College.
Wendy is survived by her former husband, the children's father, Roque Olivas; two sons, Lance Olivas and Devin Rock of Doyle; her parents, Terry and Cynthia Azevedo of Susanville, and Kathy and Richard Baughman of Janesville; her brothers, Austin and Garth Azevedo of Susanville; her grandparents, Lillian Wright of Galt, and Gilbert and Donna Azevedo of Susanville; her half-sister, Tina Tipton of Cold Springs, Nev.; her stepsisters, Alicia Baughman and Jessica Baughman, both of Janesville, and Melissa Scroggins of Susanville; her stepbrother, Michael Frank of Susanville; her aunts and uncles, Randy and Glenda Azevedo of Doyle and Renelle and Mike English of Standish.
A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at 2 p.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Susanville.
Interment will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows cemetery in Reno, Nev.

Lonnie Albert Kimbrell, 29, died on March 6, 2004 at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, from an accident on Feb. 20.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was raised in Alaska and California both. He was 29 years old, the fatal accident occurring 10 days after his birthday.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing golf, basketball, pool, shooting, darts and being with his family and friends.
By trade, Kimbrell was a mechanic. He was in fact, taking his bike for a "trial run" after he had rebuilt it at the time of the accident. He had been employed by the Alaskan railroad and in general "a jack of all trades." He had been a Susanville resident for four months.
He is survived by his mother, Patty Kimbrell; sister, Devin Morrow of Susanville; brother, Donny Sharp of Anchorage, Alaska, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and other family.
Memorial services were held at the Burt residence in Janesville on March 10 and at the American Legion Hall in Anchorage, Alaska on March 20.
Terri Cowan, 52, died on March 21, 2004 at her residence in Herlong. She was born on May 29, 1951 in Watchseka, Ill. and was a Lassen County resident for the past 13 years.
She lived in Northern California prior to moving to Herlong. She loved reading, needle work, music, outdoors, fishing and long walks, but she truly enjoyed the company and time she spent wit her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her husband Larry of Herlong; son, Eric of Red Bluff; daughters, Dana Landry of Doyle, Lisa Shockey of Herlong and Jana Cowan-Burbank of Herlong; brothers, Kenton Wills of Lakeview, Ore., Kevin Wills of Eureka, Calif.; sister, Jeri Cairns of Red Bluff and 14 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 27 at Herlong Base Chapel.
Ina Elizabeth Eoff, 98, died in Visalia, Calif. on Friday, March 19, 2004.
She was born in rural McDonald County, Mo. on January 26, 1906 to Celia E. and John B. Bailey.
She was an elementary school teacher for 28 years. She received a teaching certificate from South West Missouri State Teachers College in Springfield, Mo. in 1929. After following her husband Lloyd to Susanville in 1937, she taught in several Lassen County schools. She received her bachelor’s in education degree from California State University, Chico in 1965 at the age of 59. She retired from teaching at Janesville Elementary School in Janesville in 1972.
She was a 50-year member of the Honey Lake Court of the Order of Amaranth and the High Sierra Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Susanville and the California Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, John Lloyd Eoff; brothers, Ivan Bailey, Glenn Bailey; sisters, Nellie Garner, Bessie Hendrickson and Grace Chapman.
She is survived by her son, Gerald and wife, Carmen of Porterville, Calif.; brother, Carl Bailey of Mesa, Ariz.; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
