Jessie Nicholas
Jessie Nicholas died Saturday June 25, 2005 in Morgan Hill.
A native of Sask, Canada, she came to California as a young girl. She was a long time resident of Gilroy.
The wife of the late H.I. “Nick” Nicholas, she is survived by her son, Scott and his wife Lou of Newman and her daughter, Diane Soares of Gilroy. She also leaves six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. At her request there will be no services.
A memorial will be announced at a later date.
Donations may be made to Gilroy Therapeutic Recreation at the City of Gilroy, The Lord’s Table or St. Joseph’s Family Center.
Arrangements are being handled by Neptune Society of San Jose.
John Anthony Sanchez
John Anthony Sanchez, 49, died June 25, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Micaela Sanchez, and his brother, Geronimo. He leaves behind two daughters, Micaela and Amanda; his sisters, Juanita and Lupe Maria; nieces, nephews, family members and long-time friends. Burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Services by Johnson Funeral Home in Morgan Hill.
Barbara J. Pavese
Barbara J. Pavese, born Nov. 21, 1927 in San Francisco, died June 23, 2005 at the age of 77.
Pavese came to Gilroy as a freshman in high school. Met and married Ernest Pavese in 1948 and spent 57 wonderful years together.
Barbara enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting and many trips in her motor home. Eagle Lake in the summer, Arizona in the winter, Canada in the Spring and all points north, south, east and west. She even stayed in Gilroy at times and had many wonderful friends.
She is survived by her husband Ernest Pavese; her son Larry Pavese; her daughter Theresa Pavese; daughter-in-law Peggy Pavese; and four wonderful granddaughters Angelina, Laurel, Kristina, and Averi. Teri’s two great kids Gary and Tonya; two great grandchildren from Tonya, Tyler and Kristianna.
Graveside Service at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, 900 First St., Gilroy at 11am on July 9, then to the Veteran’s Hall on Sixth and Eigleberry streets for a reception.

Marc Nelson Tolin
Marc Nelson Tolin died on May 30, 2005, following a long illness; may he find peace at last. He was 54.
Marc was a resident of Morgan Hill and an avid record collector and history buff.
He is survived by his father Malcolm Tolin, mother Evelyn Bradford, stepfather George Bradford, and sisters Nancy Tolin and Donna Schulz.
Memorial services have been held. Johnson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Harmon F. Carter
Harmon F. Carter died on July 3, 2005 in Gilroy. He was 90.
Born in Sebastapol on March 23, 1915, he was preceded in death by his father and mother Tom and Nola Carter as well as his brother and sister Les and Lois Carter.
Harmon is survived by his wife of 65 years Flora B. Carter; two children Joanne (Carter) Churchill and Tom Carter and wife Claudia; grandchildren Jana Churchill, Winston Churchill, Jodi (Churchill) Zuniga, Andrea Carter, and Tommy Carter; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy on Wednesday, July 6, 2005.

Anthony Michael Fernandez-Rodriguez
Anthony Michael Fernandez-Rodriguez died on June 26, 2005 in Phoenix, AZ. He was 10 years old.
Anthony is survived by his mother Lynn R. Fernandez and step-father Alfred Rodriguez, brothers Raul Jr. and Freddy Fernandez all of Gilroy, nephew of Marie Lewis of Gilroy and Cassandra Lewis of Morgan Hill, Serena and Ed Plaza of Prunedale, Chris Harris of Morgan Hill, Josh Afshar of Gilroy, Alfredo Barragan of Redwood City and godparents Martha Flores and Alex Barreras of Stockton. Anthony is also survived by numerous cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his little sister Lynn Rose-Marie, great grand parents Lena and Robert Fernandez and grandma Rita Rodriguez.
He attended Paradise Valley Elementary school in Morgan Hill and just graduated from the fourth grade.
Anthony loved to play baseball and was left fielder for the Little League Mets in Morgan Hill. He also loved to skateboard, ride BMX bikes and collect low rider cars.
Vigil services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 7pm at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday at 9:30am at the funeral home then to St. Mary’s Church for a funeral mass at 10am. The burial will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Jeff Garner
Jeff Garner, 25, of Gilroy died July 3, 2005. He is survived by his parents Jeffrey Garner of Bakersfield and Elizabeth Garner of Gilroy; sisters Angela Garner and Cassandra Castro both of Gilroy; and grandfather Rex Garner of Bakersfield.
He loved his family and friends, they were the most important to him He was loyal and trusted them to the end. He was very genuine, had a huge heart and invited everyone in. He will be greatly missed by all and remembered by many.
Funeral services will be held 10am Saturday July 9 with a visitation beginning at 9am, both at Habing Family Funeral Home Gilroy.
Dolores Ruth Campbell
Dolores Ruth Campbell died March 1, 2003, in Morgan Hill.
Born Feb. 27,1915, in Hornell, N.Y., Campbell lived in Santa Clara County for 23 years. She was a retired bookkeeper of 50 years.
She was the loving mother of Penny Kirk and her husband Sharrel Kirk, beloved grandmother of Randy Kirk and his wife Donna, and great-grandmother of Hunter, Rylee, Kendall and Raegan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Campbell, and her grandson, Chuck Kirk.
The funeral service will be at 7 tonight at Oak Hill Funeral Home, The Chapel of Roses, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose.
