Cassie Sender

September 1, 1962 - April 29, 2007

Cassie Sender was born in Burbank, California and moved to Lebec in 1977.

She graduated from Maricopa High School in 1980 and proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years as a member of an NDI— nondestructive inspection—crew, earning a diploma in nuclear radiology.

She had recently been living in Burbank where she was an usher at Media City Church.

Cassie was a friend to all who knew her and "mother" to every animal she saw, the first on hand to help a stranger in need.

She had an artistic eye, seeing beauty in all of nature.

Always with a smile and even a giggle, that's our Cassie.

Cassie is survived by her parents Tom and Sandy Nickerson of Lebec and Bill and Edie Sender of Burbank; her loving sister Cory Sender; sister-in-law Roxanne Sender; niece Caley Sender and nephew Calin Sender, all of Canyon Lake, California and many loving cousins.

Services were held Wednesday, May 9 at Media City Church in Burbank, California.

Cards and condolences may be mailed to Sandy and Tom Nickerson, P.O. Box 1185, Lebec, California, 93243.

Margaret Marie Muecke

August 17, 1917 - April 18, 2007

Margaret Marie Muecke, 32-year resident of Pinon Pines, passed away on April 18, 2007 due to ovarian cancer.

A memorial service will be held this Saturday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the new location for El Camino Pines Lutheran Church at 6700 Lakewood Drive, Lake of the Woods. This will be the first service to be held in the new El Camino Pines Lutheran Church.

Margaret was born on August 17, 1917 in Cottbus Germany. She was the first of 4 children: two girls and two boys.

She married Gerhard Karl Paul Muecke on April 12, 1941.

They had two children, son Lother and daughter Sigrid. Lother died at the age of two.

On September 17, 1959, Margaret, Gerhard, and Sigrid immigrated to the United States and settled in Southern California.

In 1974, Margaret and Gerhard moved to Pinon Pines where they lived together until 1984 when Gerhard passed away.

Margaret often commented on how much the Frazier Park area, particularly Pinon Pines, had grown so much during her time there.

In 1974 there were only 13 houses (seven mailboxes) in Pinon Pines.

In March 2006, Margaret moved to Corona, California, to be closer to her grandson Gary and his family.

While Margaret often spoke of her memories of her childhood, she was proud to be an American citizen.

Margaret loved the mountain communities, and often referred to her time in Pinon Pines as the happiest in her life.

She was always very thankful for the support she received from her friends and neighbors.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Sigrid and her husband Pierre, her grandson Gary Pedvin, his wife Lisa, and their children Renee and Garrett.

Peter Coldoff

May 26, 1949 - December 1, 2007

Pete Coldoff was a Mountain Community resident for almost 30 years. Services are to be announced at a later date

Lina Watts
December 5, 1920 - December 15, 2007

Lina Watts, a long time resident of Lebec, passed away on Friday, Dec. 15 after a brief illness and battle with Alzheimers.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom and her son Marvin Watts.

Lina is survived by her son Gary and his wife Alma Watts of La Crescenta, California, and her former daughter-in-law Lynda and her husband Mike Turner and grandson Matthew Watts of Lebec.

She had five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lina was born in Los Angeles and her parents were also native Californians.

She had a wonderful life of 97 years and was a very active person.

Lina was a member of the Women's Auxiliary, volunteering on Fridays with the adult day care and loved going to activities at the Frazier Park Community Center; including exercise on Mondays (to which she always brought a homemade cake each week), quilting club and AARP functions.

Lina was a very inspiring, strong woman with a positive attitude all the way to the end.

Her doctor and hospice nurses were amazed that no matter how sick she was or bad she felt, she always said she was just fine.

She never stopped believing that someday she would go back home and be back working in her yard.

Lina was well loved.

It was her wish to not have any kind of services but donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.

Matt Enrico Zoppe

One great brave rider, Matt Enrico Zoppe was born on March 10, 1984 with an instinctive ability to get out of any kind of jam when it came to horses.

His career included bareback riding with Cheval Theater, performing at Arabian Nights Equestrian Theater and entertaining with trick riding and Roman riding at Dixie Stampede in Orlando, Florida.

He enjoyed jousting as well. Some of you will remember him competing at our spring tournaments here in Frazier Park.

You never wondered what was on Matt's mind, he always told you—good, bad or anywhere in between.

Sensitive in nature and strong of heart, Matt also had a knack for never being without something to say (usually once it came out of his mouth is was a doozy).

Matt is survived by his daughter Angelica, his three brothers, Olissio, Gino and Ermes, his sisters Melinda and Jamie, his mother Mafalda Zamperla, his father James Zoppe and his stepmother Brenda Zoppe.

Matt was at his best when performing in front of an audience.

Those who saw him work will never forget his charisma, his charm, his daring.

There is something sometimes said about a candle burning brightly.

Matt lived his life to the fullest, like one who knew the candle would not burn for long

He will be forever missed by those of us who loved him.

He touched our lives and enriched our lives like no other.
