Arthur White
Arthur L. White, a 58-year resident of Sacramento County, died Oct. 5, 2006 at the age of 81.
Mr. White was born in LaSalle, Ill. and served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946. He retired from The Sacramento Bee as a mailer after 15 years in 1979 on a medical disability.
His interests included hunting, fishing and golf.
Mr. White was preceded in death by his son Mark Luke.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Sylvia J. White of Sacramento; children Kathleen White and David White of Sacramento, Ed White and wife Barbara, Chris White and wife Dominique and Dennis Luke and wife Cindy all of Elk Grove, Sharon Quinton and Jill Meche and husband Brad of Foresthill, and Terry White and wife Arleen of Washington; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services took place Tuesday at South East Lawn Mortuary Chapel, Elk Grove. Remembrances may be made to Sutter Hospice, 2800 L St., Suite 400, Sacramento, CA 95816.
Velma Harstead
Velma F. Harstead, a 33-year resident of Sacramento County, died in Elk Grove Oct. 22, 2006 at the age of 89.
Mrs. Harstead was a native of Woodworth Municipality, Manitoba, Canada. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk Grove, and retired as a registered nurse after 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Harstead who died in 2000; her parents, four sisters and one brother in Canada.
Mrs. Harstead was the stepmother of Wallace “Buddy” Harstead of Pennsylvania, Phillip Harstead, Richard Harstead, Linda Cimaroli and Marsha Miller of Illinois; and aunt of Joan Gilchrist, Joyce Cunningham, Dawn Marie Johnston, Bob Curry, Linda Carnew, Diane Harder and Robert McLenehan all of Canada. She is also survived by several step-grandchildren.
Crypt side services were held Thursday at South East Lawn Cemetery, Elk Grove. Remembrances may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 9961 Elk Grove-Florin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95624; or Planned Giving, University of San Francisco, 2130 Fulton St., San Francisco, CA 94117.
Carson Seefeldt
Memorial services will take place today (Friday) for Carson A. Seefeldt, 81, who died Oct. 23, 2006.
Mr. Seefeldt was born in Ransomville, N.Y. and served in the New York National Guard following World War II. He has been a resident of Elk Grove for the past 18 years, and retired as an insurance appraiser after 38 years in the automobile industry. He was a member of Light of the Valley Lutheran Church.
Mr. Seefeldt is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ernestine Seefeldt of Elk Grove; children Darryl Seefeldt and wife Nancy of Lodi and Cheryl Erdman and husband George of Ohio; and grandchildren Andrew Erdman of Ohio and Amelia and Aaron Seefeldt of Lodi.
He was the brother of Rena Rohring and husband Robert of New York.
Today’s services will begin at 11 a.m. in Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, 9270 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove. Interment will be in South East Lawn Memorial Park, 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove.

Jeanne Pettenger
Funeral services are today (Friday) for Jeanne Pettenger of Wilton who died Oct. 22, 2006 at the age of 21. She was born in Nevada and had resided in Wilton for 12 years.
Ms. Pettenger was the daughter of Debbie and Rick Pettenger; sister of Brandon, Courtney and Donnie Pettenger; and granddaughter of Donald Jack. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle Diane and Maury Rosas, and cousins Maury and Austin Rosas.
Today’s services begin at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Elk Grove, 8939 East Stockton Blvd. Interment services will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery
at 3 p.m. Flowers are welcome or remembrances may be sent to a children’s charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are by Elk Grove Funeral Chapel.
Lynne Schaeffer-Quattrociocchi
Memorial services will take place Sunday, Oct. 29 for Lynne Schaeffer-Quattrociocchi who died Oct. 23, 2006 following a 16-year battle with cancer. She was 54.
Mrs. Quattrociocchi was born in Minnesota and served in Vietnam with the U.S. Air Force. A resident of Elk Grove for 17 years, her family described her as a talented artist and craftsperson. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after a career of 20 years.
Mrs. Quattrociocchi is survived by her husband of 17 years, Tony Quattrociocchi of Elk Grove; and children Holly Thomas and husband Jamie of Ripon, Heather Balchus of Denver, Michael Quattrociocchi of Elk Grove and Angela Quattrociocchi of Oregon.
She was the daughter of Stanley and Clarine Schaeffer of Minnesota, sister of Paula Schaeffer also of Minnesota and Scott Schaeffer of Marysville, and expectant grandmother of two.
Sunday’s services begin at 1:30 p.m. in Elk Grove Funeral Chapel, 9101 Elk Grove Blvd. Interment will be private.
Lavelle Litz
Memorial services will be held Thursday, Feb. 1 for Lavelle Litz, a longtime resident of Elk Grove, who died Jan. 23, 2007 at the age of 79.
Mrs. Litz was born Aug. 25, 1927 in Baker, Ore. to Joseph and Cleda Jacobs. She grew up in Elk Grove, attending Franklin Elementary School and graduating from Elk Grove High School with the class of 1945.
She was preceded in death by her brother Edward.
Mrs. Litz is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ted Litz; children Lynn Stites, Steve Litz and Mona Barrows; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Thursday’s services begin at 11 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 8701 Elk Grove-Florin Road. Arrangements are by South East Lawn Mortuary, Elk Grove.
Robbie Grammer
Robbie Lynn Grammer, a longtime resident of this area, died Feb. 14, 2007 following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born Nov. 6, 1950 in Montgomery, Ala. to Ester and Robert Williams, and moved to Elk Grove in 1962. She spent the rest of her life in Elk Grove, Wilton, Lodi and Jackson.
She married her high school sweetheart, Donald F. Brown Sr. He preceded her in death, and she married Dennis L. Grammer in September 1991.
Her family said she was a high-spirited, fun-loving lady who enjoyed bingo and karaoke.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Frankie.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her sons Donald F. Brown Jr., Timothy C. Brown and Jonathan Grammer; grandchildren Ashlee, Mark, Dahlton, Kyler and Dahkota; and sisters Patsy Welch and Betty Gibson and their families.
She was the aunt of Kim Crites and a second mother to Crites’ children, Dustin Salaun and Missy Crites. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services were held Feb. 21 at Elk Grove Cemetery
followed by a reception at Florin Worship Center on Florin Road. Remembrances may be made to the center, c/o Pastor Gloria, 8144 Florin Road, Sacramento, CA 95828.

Dr. Julio Saceda
Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 3 for Dr. Julio G. Saceda, who died Feb. 22, 2007 at the age of 73.
Dr. Saceda was born in Oroquieta City, The Philippines, and moved to Elk Grove in 1992. He retired after 23 years as an epidemiologist.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Luz Saceda of Elk Grove; children Phebe Castillo and husband Apollo and Deborah Saceda all of Elk Grove, Julio Saceda Jr., Tabetha Galindo and husband Ronald, Juluz Del Mar and husband Bernard and Mariam Damole and husband Aurelio all of the Philippines; 13 grandchildren; eight brothers; two sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday and Friday, March 1 and 2 from noon to 7 p.m. at South East Lawn Mortuary, 9189 East Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove. Saturday’s services begin at 2 p.m. in the South East Lawn Chapel followed by interment in the cemetery there.
Fern Brousseau
Fern O. Brousseau of Elk Grove died Feb. 7, 2007 at the age of 86.
Mrs. Brousseau was a native of Clymer, Pa. who came to Elk Grove in 1996 to be with her family. She was an artist and seamstress as well as a wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger A. Brousseau who died in 2000; and her daughter, Meri Jewel who died in 1996.
Mrs. Brousseau is survived by her son, Roger D. Brousseau of Elk Grove.
At her request, private graveside services were held in South East Lawn Cemetery, Elk Grove. Arrangements were by East Lawn Mortuary.
