Marsha Ava Menard

Manteca Resident

Marsha Ava Menard, 29, started her walk home on Monday, March 6, 2006. She died at Moffet Hospital UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco. She came to all of us on April 9, 1976 in Salinas, Cal. She started her years in a wonderful little town of San Juan Bautista, Cal. Since 1984 the people of Lathrop and Manteca were a blast with her presence.

Marsha Menard is survived by her father George Menard, mother Margie Menard; brothers, George Menard and Christopher Menard; a multitude of friends and acquaintances.

Marsha attend East Union High School and graduated on 1995.

Marsha had a sweet juvenile way of looking at life. She dressed in vivid clothing to make people smile. She would talk to any one that was willing to talk and almost all of the time, would initiate the conversation and it was not unusual for Marsha to end her conversation with a generous hug. I’m sure you saw her on the street of Manteca, Lathrop or else where and if you were one of many that she talked to it was a good chance she gave you a little something that she made. Even if it was only a smile.

Marsha tried her hands at many things from sewing to jewelry, but I feel she enjoyed her drawing best. She was a big girl, she had to be, she had such a big heart.

Marsha had a dream to help all over weight people and was working on a website for a few years now; https://www.fatgirlwalking.com. Her dreams were to walk across the United States. But the last two years of her life, she faced several set backs and disappointments. She got so sick just before she was to start her walk from San Francisco on Valentine’s Day 2006. It is strange that she should pass at this time and from the city in which she intended to start her walk.

Marsha we will all miss you so very much. I am sure you will be there with a smile on your face the day we all come home.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the LDS Church on 1233 Northgate Drive in Manteca.
