July 19, 1949 -- Nov. 19, 1999

Christine Ann Wiley, 50, of Hilmar died Friday at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco.

Mrs. Sobrero was a native of Huntington Beach. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Harvey Wiley of Hilmar; daughter, Kimberly Rios of Woodland; parents, Melvin Sellers of Hilmar and Bonnie Aujay of Carson City; brothers, Ricky Criddle and Joey Criddle, both of El Sereno, Robert Sellers of Hilmar and Bruce Sellers of Tallahassee, Fla.; sisters, Cathleen Hennes of Carson City, Sharon Mello of Patterson and Judy Criddle of Sacramento; and two grandchildren.

Services were conducted. Allen Mortuary, Turlock, in charge of arrangements.

Errick N. Williams

Feb. 1, 1972 -- Nov. 24, 1999

Errick N. Williams, 27, of Modesto died Wednesday at his home.

Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Modesto. He was a massage therapist for Body Work. He was a graduate of Beyer High School; he played football and basketball in high school. He belonged to E Clampus Vitus.

He is survived by his parents; Roger and Louise Williams of Modesto, and Dennis and Deanna Want of Riverbank; brothers, Jonathon Adkins, Philip Noel and Steven Adkins, all of Modesto; sisters, Melinda Carrillo, Michelle Adkins, Sharon Noel and Lexxus Carrillo, all of Modesto; and grandparents, Walter and Ernestine Nelson of Modesto.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ceres Memorial Park, Ceres. The McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1524 McHenry Ave., Suite 210, Modesto 95350.

Michael J. Piccinini

Nov. 8, 1980 -- Nov. 30, 1999

Michael Joseph Piccinini, 19, of Modesto died Tuesday at Memorial Medical Center.

Mr. Piccinini was a native of Modesto. He returned to Carmel six months ago, after 10 years in Carmel. He attended Carmel High School. He was a warehouseman for Save Mart grocery stores.

He is survived by his parents, Robert M. and Valentia Piccinini of Modesto and Pamela Piccinini of Carmel; brothers, Joseph Piccinini of Carmel and Dominic Piccinini of Pebble Beach; sisters, Nicole Piccinini and Alexandria Piccinini, both of Pebble Beach; and grandparents, Margaret Piccinini of Modesto, and Jack and Wanda Griffith of Modesto.

Private services. Public visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs.

Remembrances may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1663, Modesto 95353, or the Friends of Andrew Dignan Trust Fund, for the injured Central Catholic High School football player, in care of Modesto Commerce Bank, 1623 J St., Modesto 95354.

Herb Sherrell

May 28, 1974 -- Dec. 9, 1999

Herb Sherrell, 25, of Merced County died Dec. 9 at his home.

Mr. Sherrell was a native of Fresno. He lived in Merced County for 21 years. He was the owner and operator of Merced's Looney Tunes Towing Service.

He is survived by his parents, Deak and Kim Sherrell of LeGrand, and mother, Dee Dee Sherell of Atwater; sisters, Melai Bresson of Lima, Ohio and Venita Sherrell of Merced; brothers, Bam Bam Sherrell, Bo Sherrell and Glenn Porter of the Atwater/Winton areas; and grandparents, Inez Sherrell of Fresno and Margie Bowers of Atwater and Gerald Kelch of Modesto.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Atwater Assembly of God. Whitton Family Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.

Clyde J. Dutra

March 3, 1941 -- Dec. 16, 1999

Clyde Joseph Dutra, 58, of Tracy died Thursday at the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco.

Mr. Dutra was a native of French Camp. He lived in Tracy 58 years. He was a farmer for 35 years.

He is survived by his children, Richard P. Dutra of Tracy and Debra Ceciliani of Madras, Ore.; mother, Lena Dutra of Tracy; sister, Geri Nigg of Tracy; and five grandchildren.

The rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Fry Memorial Chapel. A Mass will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the chapel.

Remembrances may be made to St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy 95376.

Opal G. Alleman

Oct. 22, 1911 -- Jan. 4, 2000

Opal G. Alleman, 88, of Ripon died Tuesday at Bethany Home Convalescent Hospital.

Mrs. Alleman was a native and lifelong resident of Ripon. She was a secretary with the Ripon Unified School District. She was a member of the Ripon Grange and the Ripon Historical Society. She belonged to the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of First Congregational Church.

She is survived by her children, John C. Alleman of Manteca, Richard Alleman of Ripon and Glenn Bruce Alleman of Vancouver, Wash.; sister, Madeline Emslie of Ripon; and seven grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel. Burial will be at Park View Cemetery, Manteca.

Remembrances may be made to First Congregational Church, 100 Acacia Ave., Ripon 95366, or the Ripon Historical Society, 338 E. Main St., Ripon 95366.

Emily D. Goodman

Sept. 30, 1911 -- Jan. 8, 2000

Emily D. Goodman, 88, of Ceres died Saturday at Memorial Medical Center, Modesto.

Mrs. Goodman was a native of Ceres. She lived in Ceres 30 years. She and her husband owned Broadway Market, Modesto, from 1944 to 1948. From 1939 to 1944, she was a butcher at Betterway Market, Empire, and her husband worked there, too. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children, Betty Margarite of Ceres, Dorothy Anthieny of Orland, Beverly Maier of Centralia, Wash., and Norma Walker of Loomis; sister, Grace Duarte of Hughson; and 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A vigil will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs. A Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Hughson. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Modesto. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel.

Fran Ward

June 5, 1932 -- Jan. 5, 2000

Fran Ward, 67, of Modesto died Wednesday at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco.

Ms. Ward was a native of La Jolla. She lived in Modesto 39 years. She was an accountant for Corn and Harris Construction. She was a member of the advisory board of The Salvation Army. She was a volunteer for Community Housing and Shelter Services. She was a member of the Luso-American Federation and Toastmasters.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Ward of Modesto; mother, Gladys Weber of Modesto; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at The Salvation Army Citadel, 625 I St. The Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1663, Modesto 95350.

Daniel S. Lucero

Feb. 24, 1940 -- Jan. 13, 2000

Daniel "Danny" Sandoval Lucero, 59, of Oakdale died Thursday at Oak Valley Hospital.

Mr. Lucero was a native of Arizona. He lived in Oakdale for 20 years. He owned and operated Oakdale Transmission for 20 years.

He is survived by his children, Joey Mortalena of Oakdale, Daniel Kish of La Habra and Keith Kish of Placentia; brothers, Tony Lucero, Joe Lucero and Fred Lucero, all of Oakdale; and sisters, Frieda Lucero of Oakdale, Elsie Lucero of Ontario, Margaret Montes of Rancho Cucamonga and Peggy Lucero of Montebello.

Services were private. Oakdale Memorial Chapel, Oakdale, in charge of arrangements.
