BEARD, Lucetta Golsan, Beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. Returned to the God who gave her life. 4 February 1996, at 5:20 a.m. at Kino Community Hospital, Tucson, AZ. Born 22 April, 1901 in Autaugaville, AL. Lucetta was the oldest daughter of James Edwin and Bessie Beatrice Golsan. She moved to Tucson from Salt Lake City, UT about 30 years ago. Spent 20 of those years living at the Matin Luther King Apartments in downtown Tucson. She was an assistant manager there, and was well loved for her happy smile and beautiful crochet work. She is survived by her sister Marie Sorenson, of Gardena, CA and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 10, 1996 at 10:00 a.m., at South Lawn Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave. All are welcomed.
CLARK, Mrs Neil H., died February 7, 1996 in St. Joseph’s Hospital. Mrs. Clark was born October 18, 1908 in Chelsea, OK where she attended school. In 1929 she graduated from Miami Oklahoma Baptist Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse. She had lived in Tucson since 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Clark and an infant son, John Ferald Clark. She is survived by sisters, Blanche Shepherdson of Tucson, Caroline Breedlove of CA, and Martha (Raymond) Thompson of OK; niece, Caroline Amos of Tucson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, February 9 at Sleeth Chapel, First Baptist Church, 215 E. 5th St. Contributions may be made to a favorite charity. COULAHAN, Mary Blanche, 97, took her last flight at the Tucson VAMC Hospice on 3 February, 1996. She was a World War II veteran with the USAF from 1944 to 1952. Born Ford River, MI on 14 January, 1899. She worked for over 30 years in department store sales in Escanaba, MI, Milwaukee, WI and retired from Foley’s in 1986 as their oldest employee. She is survived by several distant out-of-state cousins. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, 10 February, 1996. DON, Rose Sunny, 84, of Tucson died Tuesday, February 6, 1996. She is survived by her husband, John; son, Newton of San Francisco; and daughter, Yvonne of Hong Kong; and two grandchildren, Maxwell and Peter Shrieve-Don. Born in San Francisco, Sunny was the eldest of the 12 children of CHIN Chong Tsung and Helen Leung. Surviving her are brothers, William, Martin, and Benjamen, all of San Francisco; Thomas of Sacramento; and sister, Anne of San Francisco. Services will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, 3015 N. Oracle Road on Saturday, February 10 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of choice.
FALK, Lloyd Edward “John’, 75, died February 4, 1996, a good, strong and gentle man. He taught history and political science in the public schools for 30 years. The good he achieved during this time is incalculable. Countless people approached Lloyd over the years and thanked him for inspiring them to continue their education. He served for four years in the European Theatre during World War II, where he met his wife, Mary. His greatest joy was his family; he always put us first. He took pride in our happiness, and we believe he watches over us still. Survived by wife, Mary; daughter, Margaret (Glenn) McCreedy; only sister, Muriel Peterson (Wis); brother-in-law, Jack (Audrey) Daley; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ridgway (N.Z.); brother-in-law, James Daley; sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis and Nora Bennett (England); nieces and nephews, Carol (Wis), Jim, Lyn, Andrew, Ann, Clare, Francis, John (N.Z.), James and Elizabeth (England); childhood friends, John and Helen Slaughter (Minn); his faithful cat, Sheba. ARAIZA, Josie B., 93, of Mammoth, passed away February 8, 1996 in Tucson. She was born September 28, 1902 in Mammoth. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Jo Ortiz and Stella Lovett; a brother, William Buzan; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. The Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Mammoth. The Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 12 also at Blessed Sacrament.
