PETERS, Ethel Margaret, age 87, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 1996 in Albuquerque, NM after a battle with cancer. Ethel was born November 29, 1908 in Augusta, Wisconsin. In 1927 she moved to Delavan, Wisconsin where she worked for Bradley Knitting Company and married, Glenn Dutcher, on July 26, 1935. In 1949 they moved to Tucson, Arizona where Ethel worked for and retired from Davis Monthan Air Force Base and was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. On June 21, 1972, her husband, Glenn Dutcher, passed away. In 1979 Ethel moved to Hillsboro, Missouri to work for the Bible and Literacy League. On August 26, 1982, Ethel married Edwin “Ted’ Peters. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Elsie Zank; sister, Leona Zank; brother, Clarence “Happy’ Zank and brother, Donald Zank; husband, Glenn Dutcher and husband, Ted Peters. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Susan Ward and husband Larry of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Carrie Anne Romero and husband Rick of Albuquerque; grandson, Christofer Glenn Wilson of Albuquerque; three great-grandchildren, John Wesley Blanton, Adam Rickey Romero, and Karissa Anne Romero of Albuquerque; brother, Richard Zank and wife Janis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and sister Doris Graham and husband Joe of Augusta, Wisconsin. Cremation has taken place and memorial services and interment of ashes will take place at a later date in Delavan, Wisconsin. The family wishes to thank the Physicians and Medical Staff and Hospice Care of Lovelace Medical Center and special gratitude to her home care provider, for the love, friendship and special care that made Ethel’s last years so happy and special. Prindle of Walnut Creek, CA, Roberta L. Pool of Monterey, CA and Eleanor A. Henderson of San Diego, CA; and four grandchildren.
CHRISTIAN, Florence Russell, 90, died January 23, 1996. Mrs. Christian was the wife of the late Carroll H. Christian, who was Pima County Treasurer for 35 years. She was the daughter of Pioneer Tucson Family, Mary and Thomas Clarkson Russell. She worked as a private secretary for Equitable Insurance Company until she married and then worked from her home writing and illustrating short stories. Mrs. Christian was a published author and artist; with articles and/or artwork appearing in The Saturday Evening Post, Catholic Digest, and many other magazines. She is survived by her son, James (Stacey); grandchildren, David, Kevin, Mark, and Timothy; sister, Lillian Martin; nieces, Phyllis Lynch, and Jeanne Forbes; and many cousins. Services will be held Friday 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

GILMORE, Rev. Leon G., 91, of Pensacola, FL, died Monday, January 22, 1996. Survived by wife, Johnnie Jordan Gilmore of FL; sister, Emma Johnson of GA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rev. Gilmore was an Ordained Minster of the Assemblies of God, former pastor of Mayo Tabernacle in Atlanta; built and pastored the First Assembly of God, Tucson, AZ. He was a Missionary-Evangelist in South America, establishing many churches there. Served as principal and teacher at Southeastern Academy, Atlanta. He retired in 1981. Locally he attended the Brownsville Assembly of God. Services were held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brownsville Assembly of God. Burial will be in Atlanta. HENRY, James Larry, formerly from Cedar Falls, Iowa, passed away January 23, 1996 at St. Mary’s Hospital from a lengthy illness. He was born in Lorimor, Iowa in 1938. Surviving relatives: his son, John Henry of Mill City, OR; daughter, Lisa Rademacker of Brandon, IA; sisters, Marjorie Kerns of Pahrump, NV, Helen Davis of Waterloo, IA and Lillian Simmerman of Meadview, AZ; three grandchildren; 12 nieces and five nephews. LARSSON, Mildred, 83, a long time resident of Tucson, went home to be with her Lord January 24, 1996. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, George Larsson. Survived by three children, Ann (Dave) Armbruester of Tucson, Karen (Dick) Yager of Oak Harbor, WA and Larry Larsson of Lake Tahoe, CA; also survived by six grandchildren and three sisters. ROYLSTON, Jr., Tom, died January 10, 1996. He was 47 years old. Mr. Roylston was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 19, 1948. He is survived by his wife, Linda, at the family home; children: Tom (T) Roylston of Arizona, Kim (Jon) Orphal of New Mexico, Lisa (Allan) Foux of California, mother Frances, sister Kathy (Jeff) Cady – all of Arizona; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; and his devoted followers: Charlie, Ricki, Gracie, Sheba, and Jazz. Tom graduated in 1970 with a BSEE from University or Arizona. He was employed by Hughes Aircraft for 26 years, first in Tucson, Arizona, then as a manager at Hughes Space and Communications Co. in El Segundo. He and his wife were active members of HACRATS Camping Club. Tom was known to all for his sense of humor, organization skills, and his ability to reduce complex situations to one-step finality with a wry wit summation. Never at a loss for words, Tom was valued as a mentor, coworker, friend, son, father, brother, and husband. He will be sorely missed. COFFEEN, Hale L., Hale was born September 25, 1921 in Decorah, IA, the son of Roy and Ida Coffeen. He met his wife Constance while attending the University of Iowa. They were married in 1944 after his graduation and receiving his commission and assignment to the faculty of the Engineer School, Ft. Belvoir, VA. After separation from the service he joined his family’s construction company in the Midwest. He left the family partnership in 1951 to take post graduate studies at the University of Texas in Austin. After receiving a M.S. in Architectural Engineering he joined the faculty as an assistant professor. In 1962, he became a partner in the firm of Wheeler, Petterson and Coffeen, a Tucson engineering firm, which subsequently became, through acquisition, and office of Greiner Engineering, Inc. He was instrumental in the design and planning of numerous developments in the Tucson area. He retired as a Vice President of Greiner’s operations branch in 1986. During his career he was active in various business and professional organizations: Nations Society of Professional Engineers, Arizona Consulting Engineers Association, Planning Association of Arizona, University of Iowa College of Engineering Advisory Board, Southern Arizona Homebuilders Honorary Life Director, Chmn, President’s Council-United Way Agencies, President of Arizona Training Center for the Handicapped, Flecha Caida Home Owners Board, and Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife, Constance Middleton Coffeen; children, Rebecca (William) Hillman and Jeffrey (Faye) Coffeen of Tucson; grandchildren, Carolyn Jenkinson and Patrick Jenkinson; brothers, Davis of Murray, KY, Charles of Decorah, IA, Peter of New York, NY; sister, Helen Robbe, Hartford, WI.
