HENDERSON, Faye R., 95, of Tucson, died Thursday, January 4, 1996. Survived by daughter, Pauline H. Hewitt; son, Jack R. Henderson of Tucson; grandchildren, Edward G. Hewitt, Jr. of Tucson, Barbara H. Gates of San Diego, Carolyn H. Eisenberg of Pepperel, MA; great grandchildren, Mattie and Edward Eisenberg, Damien and Trevor Gates. Memorial Services will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Chapel at 4:00 p.m. January 13, with Rev. Barbara Smith officiating. Donations may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

IRELAND, Linda L., born in Michigan in 1945, died December 26, 1995. Linda moved to Tucson two years ago May. She made her living as a bartender and casino dealer and loved playing bingo. She bravely dealt with cancer without complaint. Sorely missed by her daughters, Marlee and Carolyn and two grandcats. She is at peace now. Linda always tried to give more than she received and took care of everyone but herself. Her sweet and happy nature will surely be missed by the many people she helped.
God Bless your rest in Peace Linda, now that your battles are over and heartfelt thanks from your friends for the light you brought us.

KAPSA, John C., known as “Jack’ 69, of Tucson, died January 3, 1996. He is survived by wife, Kathy; three children, Cathi, Patrick, and Linda; three step-children, Stephen, Michael and Bradley; and eight grandchildren. KUSIAN, Lucille K. “Lou’, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 1996. Born in Detroit, MI on July 6, 1916, she arrived in Tucson in 1941 to live and work at the newly opened TMC as admissions officer. For 50 years Lou has shared her life with her devoted husband Walter. Her brother Richard and son John have preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Richard Kusian (Deanna), Thomas Kusian (Peggy), Patrick Kusian (Grace); by granddaughters, Morgan, Carolyn, Julia, Shelly; by her dear friend and sister-in-law Lenor Harrell (Sheldon); brother-in-law, Peter Kusain; and by loving cousins, nieces and nephews in Arizona and Michigan. A volunteer in Tucson for over half a century, Lou’s energy, enthusiasm and ability benefited the Tucson Symphony, the Museum of Art, the Newman Center, the TMC Auxiliary, the Patio Garden Club and The Woman’s Golf Association. She thrived on meeting people, and loved her work at numerous gift and antique shops over the years. Lou will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Services will be private. Friends are invited to celebrate her memory on Monday, January 8, in the Tucson Room of the Arizona Inn from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

LOPEZ, Albino C., 68, of Tucson, died January 3, 1996. Survived by wife, Linda J.; daughters, Debra Lopez, Deanna Ellison and Virginia Lopez; sons, Albino, John, William, Ron, Jeffrey S. and Jeffrey M. Lopez; sister, Sally Nino; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A veteran of WWII and retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad. In loving memory of a wonderful husband and father. You are dearly loved and will be missed, Dad. Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Monday at St. John’s Church with Mass following at 10:00 a.m.

Mass will be offered 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 1996 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft with Fr. Frederic Currey and Fr. John Allt officiating. Entombment at Holy Hope Cemetery. Father of Alene (Myron) Barlow of MI, Ann Marie Marsh of Tucson and Karen (Michael) Sunnucks of VA; brother of Katherine (Ted) Tatarynsky of NJ; brother-in-law of Stephen Wyzywany of MI; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Weber Assembly, Past Faithful Navigator of Arch Bishop Daniel J. ROBLES, Joe V., 58, of Tucson passed away on January 4, 1996. He is survived by wife, Helen; and mother Mrs. Trinidad Robles; daughter, Melanie (Kenneth) Leikem; sons, Joseph and Antonio; sisters, Connie Castillo, Vicki Orosco and Sara Holguin; brothers, Ted and Frank Robles; and grandchildren, Tristany, Kirsten and Lyndsay Leikem. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 1996 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 338 W. THOMPSON, Floyd H., M.S., 44, of Tucson, now in the company of Jesus Christ, died January 3, 1996. He was a Research Specialist (Principal) and Director of the Cytogenetic Oncology Lab at the Arizona Cancer Center. He received a B.A. in Microbiology from the Southern Illinois University and a M.S. in Molecular Cytogenetics from the University of Illinois. He is listed in the Who’s Who In the World. Floyd will be known most of all as a man of integrity and as a compassionate friend and colleague. Memorial Service Sunday, 4:00 p.m., Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4520 W. Ajo Way, with Rev. Jeffrey Green officiating. Contributions may be made in Floyd Thompson’s name to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, or Arizona Cancer Center or the Arthritis Foundation. BERNAL, Eleanor, 83, of Tucson, passed away on January 4, 1996. She is survived by sisters, Lydia Quihuis, Margaret Haggerty; and brother, Ernest Bernal; many beloved nieces, a nephew and close friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 1996 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 9:00 a.m. Mass will be offered Tuesday, January 9 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Interment to follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. BLESKAN, George, 81, loving father of Carol Brogna and Debra (Wayne) Comeaux and devoted grandfather of Gina Brogna left our lives, but not our hearts on January 3, 1996. He was a proud Army Veteran, who served in the Philippines during WWII. He was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic, an avid sports fan, and an ardent animal lover. We love you, daddy, and will forever miss you. A Memorial Mass will be offered at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 North Camino Pio Decimo. CERVANTEZ, Jr. Jose C. (Joey), 37 years, passed away on January 4, 1996. He was preceded in death by his brother, David and father, Jose C. Cervantez Sr. He leaves to mourn him his loving grandmother, Ophelia H. Nelson; his mother, H. Toni Cervantez-Johnson; step-father, John C. Johnson; two brothers and two sisters, Deborah N. (Joseph) Barletta, Tucson, Greg N. Cervantez, Douglas, Michael R. (Mary Anne) Gonzales, Tucson, Dolores M. (Louis) Wacker, TN; loving nieces, Candy, Tweety, Monica “Little One’; favorite nephews, Greg E. and Mickey. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9, 1996 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 10 at Holy Family Church, 338 W. CRANDELL, Eldon O., 69, passed away January 3, 1996 after a lengthy illness with emphysema, surviving cancer in the late 1970's. Born on a ranch in western Nebraska, May 10, 1926. Survived by wife of 47 years, Eileen; four sons, Terry, Rick, Ken (Mae), Tim (Torey) Crandell; daughter, Cathy (Andrew) Maddox; and 12 grandchildren, Brian, Lisa, Matthew, Sean, Jeff, Amanda, Aaron, Kailey, Joshua, Cynnamon, Jayme, Matthew. Preceded in death by parents, Orville and Bertha Crandell; step-mother, Cora; and brother, Jack. Graduated High School, Eagle, NE., entered United States Navy in 1944, became Radioman 3rd Class and later attended University of Nebraska. Worked for Northern Natural Gas Company 21 years and was a Maintenance Supervisor at Duval Sierrita Mine for 16 years. His employment expertise took him from Palmyra, NE to the Permian Basin Natural Gas Fields in Andrews, TX., to refineries near Lyons, KS., and to the copper mines of Tucson, AZ. (Living in Tucson for the last 25 years.) He was a member and served as a Deacon and an Elder in the Presbyterian Church. Also a Boy Scout Master, a member of the American Legion, B.P.O. Elks #385, Masonic Lodge #287 (Neb.) and Masonic Lodge #60 (Tucson) as Master Mason. Funeral Services held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 1996 and burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery. Friends may call 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 1996, EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Memory of Eldon Crandell to the Church Organ Restoration Fund at Northminster Presbyterian Church, or the American Lung Association.

GONZALEZ, Rafael M., “Surdo’ 80, of Cananea, Sonora Mexico, passed away January 4, 1996. Survived by wife, Maria Eva; children, Francisco (Maria Jesus), Evangelina, Rafael Jr., Marco Antonio (Evelyn), Blanca Julia (Burt) Clark; sister, Aurora M. Gonzalez; and eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., Monday, January 8 with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. John’s Catholic Church, 12th and Ajo on Tuesday, January 9th at 9:30 a.m. with burial at South Lawn Cemetery.

GREENWALD, Frank Norbert, passed away January 4, 1996. He was born in Louisville, KY. and lived much of his life there. He graduated from Law School there and passed the Bar. He was attorney with the United States General Accounting Office for 32 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor M. Greenwald; one brother; three sisters-in-law; seven nieces and ten nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery, Louisville, KY at a later date. The family suggests in lieu of flowers remembrances be made to the American Heart Association.

LABAY, Joseph, 86, of Tucson, died January 5, 1996. He is survived by children, Roberta “Robie’ Bush of Tucson, Len (Ruthann) Bush of Tucson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. WAGNER, Dorothy, 75, of Tucson, died Thursday, January 4, 1996. Survivors include daughters, Ruth (Derry) Siers, Tucson, Marilyn (Eugene) Benbow, Peculair, MO; grandsons, Timothy and Charles Benbow; and great granddaughter, Chelsea Strickek; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a member of AAUW and Retired Teachers Association, an avid bridge player and very active church member. She will be fondly remembered by a host of friends both in Tucson and South Dakota. Memorial Services will be at Catalina United Methodist Church 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 1996 with Rev. Ravin Gaston officiating.
