ARMIJO, Allen, 90, of Phoenix, AZ, died January 2, 1996. Survived by wife, Lela Armijo; sister, Lucinda Sullivan; brothers, Ulysses W. Armijo and Charles E. Armijo; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Armijo served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. Visitation January 4, 1996, 12:00 Noon at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, with Service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sunnyslope, Arizona Historical Society, P.O. Box 9790 Phoenix, AZ 85068-9790. ARMSTRONG, Ariadne (Addie), 90, formerly of Tucson, died Wednesday, January 3, 1996 in Martin, TN. Survived by two daughters, Patricia Taylor of Martin, TN and Barbara Hartleigh of Glendale, AZ; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was active for many years in the 1st United Methodist Church, Tucson. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 1996 at Hedrick Chapel, 1st United Methodist Church in Tucson. Remembrances may be made to 1st United Methodist Church.

BINGHAM, John Randall, 59, died January 1, 1996. Brother of Willard (Kay) Bingham of Phoenix; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 1996 at the L.D.S. Cemetery with Steve and John Bingham conducting. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

BOUFFARD, Irene I., born October 26, 1927 in Waterbury, CT, passed away suddenly on January 2, 1996. Survived by her husband, Gerard; her oldest son, Paul of CA; daughter, Sharon of Canada; son, Brian of Tucson; daughter, Brenda of Tucson; eight grandchildren; one brother, Roland Guilbeault; and sister, Jeanette Guilbeault. Memorial Service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6 at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church.

CONNETT, Beverly Ann, 62, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 1996. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mrs. and Mr. R. O. Anderson; and sister, Janet Nordwick. She is survived by brothers, Dean and Gene Anderson; loyal son, David Connett; companion, Claude Hereford; daughter, Diane Steuart; and grandchildren, Mike and Athena Steuart. Born again in 1978, she dedicated her life to her lord and maker. In a brave and fearless three-year battle to cancer, she never betrayed her devotion to Jesus. Beloved by all, may she find eternal peace in heaven.

CRANDALL, John Franklin, 81, of Tucson, died December 28, 1995. Survived by wife, Lillian; daughters, Virgina Clayton and Louise Hayden; sister, Patricia Dyer; brother, Victor Crandall; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. GOLDSTEIN, Lois L., 71, of Tucson, died January 4, 1996. Survived by husband, Sherman I. Goldstein; daughter, Zandra Sue Goldstein of Tucson; son, Steven Jeffrey Goldstein of Aurora, CO; sisters, Ruth Wolff of NJ and Jean Beder of TX; grandchildren, Daniel Scott and Lynsey Nicole Goldstein. Graveside Services Friday 2:00 p.m. Knights of Pythias Section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky officiating. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

GRIMES, Florence Lodge, 50, of Phoenix, died January 3, 1996 of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Survived by children, Heather (Frank) Sposeto, Pleasant Hills, CA, Erin Grimes, Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, OH and Christopher Grimes, Sacramento, CA. 1967 graduate U of A School of Nursing, Chi Omega Fraternity, PEO. Employed by Best Western International. Services All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central, Phoenix, 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6th. Remembrances may be made to the ALS Association, P.O. KAPSA, John C., known as “Jack’ 69, of Tucson, died January 3, 1996. He is survived by wife, Kathy; three children, Cathi, Patrick, and Linda; three step-children, Stephen, Michael and Bradley; and eight grandchildren. KUSIAN, Lucille K. “Lou’, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 1996. Born in Detroit, MI on July 6, 1916, she arrived in Tucson in 1941 to live and work at the newly opened TMC as admissions officer. For 50 years Lou has shared her life with her devoted husband Walter. Her brother Richard and son John have preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Richard Kusian (Deanna), Thomas Kusian (Peggy), Patrick Kusian (Grace); by granddaughters, Morgan, Carolyn, Julia, Shelly; by her dear friend and sister-in-law Lenor Harrell (Sheldon); brother-in-law, Peter Kusain; and by loving cousins, nieces and nephews in Arizona and Michigan. A volunteer in Tucson for over half a century, Lou’s energy, enthusiasm and ability benefited the Tucson Symphony, the Museum of Art, the Newman Center, the TMC Auxiliary, the Patio Garden Club and The Woman’s Golf Association. She thrived on meeting people, and loved her work at numerous gift and antique shops over the years. Lou will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Services will be private. Friends are invited to celebrate her memory on Monday, January 8, in the Tucson Room of the Arizona Inn from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

LINDER, Roland L., 87, of Tucson, passed January 1, 1996. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Annis; daughters, Barbara Linder and Kay Linder-Black and her husband Ken; sons, Gary and his wife Cathy Linder and Arby and his wife Lin Linder; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Linder was a well driller and carpenter. He was a charter member of the Carpenters Union. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 1996 at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan. In lieu of flowers, family suggest donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Carondelet Hospice.

Martin, Jr. of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren; sister of Joseph Pennacchia of Chicago, IL. Husband of Eleanor Mayfield; father of Margaret (Donovan) Burke of Tucson and Mary Jo Pitts of OR; grandfather of Margaret Joy (Christopher) Weiermann, Amy Lynn Busboom, Leeann Busboom, Stephanie Lynn Burke and Thomas Pitts; great grandfather of Timothy Weiermann; brother of Joan Erdley of KS and Dennis Mayfield of CA. Mass will be offered 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 8, 1996 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft with Fr. Frederic Currey and Fr. John Allt officiating. Entombment at Holy Hope Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 1996 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. NEIBLUM, Lottie, 80, of Tucson, died January 1, 1996. She was founder of Young Israel of Forest Hills, NY and a member of Congregation Anshei Israel. Survived by husband, Henry Neiblum of Tucson. Graveside Services were held Wednesday 10:30 a.m. Evergreen Cemetery, Congregation Anshei Israel Section, with Rabbi Arthur R. Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating. NEILL, Berneice M., 88, of Tucson, died January 3, 1996, after a lengthy illness. She was born October 27, 1907 in Green County, IN. She was a graduate of Indiana University and taught elementary school for 44 years in Indiana prior to moving to Tucson in 1986. Survived by daughter, Barbara A. (Ernest Lee) Daniels of Tucson; sisters, Blanche Burnett of Paragon, IN, Marie Cox of Worthington, IN, Nina Raymond Congelton of Greenwood, IN; grandchildren, Lee Ann (Mark) Hawkins of Speedway, IN, Jeffrey N. (Suzanne) Daniels of Tucson; great-grandchildren, Amy M. Hawkins, David Hawkins, both of Speedway, IN, Jonathan Daniels, Jacob Daniels, both of Tucson. Services Monday 11:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. PARKER, Paul O., 81, passed away January 3, 1996. Survived by wife, Jane; sons, Steven (Un Chu) Parker of Phoenix and Dennis (Anita) Parker of Mexico City; daughter, Sheila Sievert of Phoenix; grandchildren, Ian, William, Catherine, Andrew, Zachary and Adam Parker and Costas Sofianos. He was a teacher at Tucson Indian Training School and Pueblo High School. He was an active member of Trinity Presbyterian Church serving as a deacon and an elder. Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7 at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4th and University. Remembrances may be made to Ghost Ranch Foundation, Abiquiu, NM. PONCHETTI, Harley G. “Ponch’, 62, of Tucson, died December 30, 1995. Survived by loving wife, Ruth Lamar; daughters, Debra (Mark) Adams of TX, Robin (Craig) Miles of Tucson, Paula (Larry) Reilly of NV; nine grandchildren; and his mother Margie A. Williams. Harley was a member of the USGA, Industrial Golf League, and the American Legion. Family requests memorial contributions be made to Children’s Clinic for Rehabilitative Services, 2600 N. ROADS, Linda, 39, died December 31, 1995. Survived by husband, Michael Roads; parents, Larry and Rosemary Echave of Bisbee; brother, Larry (Leah) Echave, Jr.; nieces, Jakey and Jessi Echave of Tucson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Linda was a registered nurse in ICU at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Family requests memorial contributions be made to American Lung Assoc. Funeral will be held Saturday, January 6 at 12:00 noon in St. Patrick’s Church, Bisbee, AZ. A local memorial to follow at St. Joseph’s Hospital Chapel at a later date.

BERSH, Victor Edward, 83, of Tucson, died Wednesday, January 3, 1996. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; children, Barbara J. Chaitt, Eric N. Bersh, Linda E. Tumarkin, Dr. George M. Barbarosh; sisters, Lillian Kargen, Esther Schenckman; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Active in the community, Mr. Bersh was a particularly dedicated volunteer at the University Medical Center Oncology Dept. and Handmaker Jewish Geriatric Center. Funeral Services will be held at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd., with Rabbi Arthur Oleisky of Congregation Anshei Israel officiating. FARR, James D., 73, died Wednesday, January 3, 1996. Survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane; daughters, Barbara Huffstetler and Sallie (Ken) Snyder; three sisters, Wanda Powell, Billie Johnson and Jan Barkdoll; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7, 1996 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 8, 1996 at 22nd Street Baptist Church, 6620 E. 22nd St. Burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery. FINLEY, Albert P., age 74, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away January 5, 1996. Born July 18, 1921 in Amado, AZ. Mr. Finley was a decorated World War II Veteran and a retired Teamster. Survived by his daughters, June (Bill) Walsh and Arlene (Isaac) Cardenas; son, Albert E. (Sylvia) Finley; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Petra Finley. A Visitation will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Sunday, January 7, 1996 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service Monday at 1:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
