She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincenzo Mazzola, and one son, James Mazzola. PICHA, Frank Edward, 88, of Tucson, died December 27, 1995 after a short illness. Preceded in death by his wife the former, Ella Anne-Novak; son, Allen Edward Picha; brother, Joseph C. Picha; and sisters, Sylvia M. Picha and Mildred A. Podhradsky Graff. Survived by a daughter, Marcia A. Wolf; grandchildren, Marcella A. (Michael) Gillooly, Matthew A. Wolf; great-grandchildren, Michele A. and Amanda N. Gillooly all of Tucson. Edward is also survived by a sister, Eleanore V.R. Picha of MI; and brother, George M. Richards of VA as well as many nieces and nephews. The son of Joseph and Rose Picha, he was born in Chicago on August 2, 1907. During the 1920's and 30's he was known in the Chicago area as the leader of the “Eddy Allen’ Dance Band. During this period of time, he also began what would become his lifelong career with Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Co. of Chicago. He retired as a second Vice-President from the Continental Bank after 46 years of distinguished service. Upon his retirement, he was honored as the sole record holder of a perfect 46 year career, never having reported to work late or using any of his 92 weeks of accumulated sick leave. Subsequent to his retirement to Scottsdale, AZ in 1972, he remained active through the late 1980's as a CPA in private practice. He was a lifetime member of the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan 3, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at Svec and Sons Funeral Home in Berwyn, IL, with prior visitation on Tuesday, January 2, 1996 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Donald R. Avery 61 years old, of Vail, AZ, died December 30, 1995. He was born in Rapid City, SD. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor Avery of Vail; daughter, Raedeen Casamassa of Tucson; son, Richard Avery of Tucson, Otto Avery of Vail, Raymond Avery of Las Vegas; daughters, Desirate Burhans of Vail, Tammy Weingart of Vail, Pam Loder of Tucson; and 19 grandchildren. He was employed at General Electric for the past two years, and Mail West for ten years working in the maintenance department. KING, Vila Nathaniel “Bud’, 82, of Tucson. went to be with the Lord on December 30, 1995. Bud was the oldest child of Howard Jefferson and Roena Mae King, born in Snyder, OK on December 11, 1913. He is survived by wife, Leona King; daughter, Roena (Jerry) Day of Tucson; son, D.L. “Buddy’ King of Cache, OK; grandchildren, Kari King of Amarillo, TX, Amanda Day of Nashville, TN, Mark Day of Tucson, Lori King of Newcastle, OK; great granddaughter Mariah Kay Day of Tucson. He was a Godly man that gave of himself to his family and his community. He served as a Deacon and untiring youth teacher in his church. He was a member of Sabino Road Baptist Church. On his retirement he became active in Senior Olympics, the Community Food Bank, and Toys for Tots. Bud served on the Board of Tucson Meadows and enjoyed feeding the homeless with fellow church members. Emmajean Harriet Van Cleave 75 years old, passed away Thursday, December 28, 1995. She was an area resident for 38 years. Survived by husband, Arthur and daughter, Judy (Arnold) Bennett of Tucson; daughter, Jane Wilson of MI; sister, Gladys Thatcher of IN; nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling and devoted time to teach others how to bowl for the past 22 years. Visitation will be Monday, January 1, 1996 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Betty Gene Liebig Burrill loving wife, mother and grandmother, age 72, passed on December 30, 1995. She is once again with her beloved husband Scott. Betty was the daughter of Lillian and Elmer Liebig and was born on September 22, 1923 in Redfield, SD. She met “Scotty’ at the age 14 as schoolmates in Faulkton, SD and were friends after family moved to Brookings, SD. She loved to tell their meeting and marrying ten years later on June 24, 1947. They adored one another throughout their nearly 48 years of sharing life, love, marriage and family. Betty graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in journalism in 1945. After marrying, Betty and Scott moved to Anaconda, MT for three years. Moved to McGill, NV followed in 1950 where their two daughters were born. Scott’s job moved his family to Silver Bell, AZ in 1959 and on to Tucson in 1961. Betty loved the people and friends of the mining industry. She was an active member for many years in the Woman’s Auxiliary to the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (WAAIME). She held offices during her membership and shared of herself. Her interests of traveling, history, nature and photography took her family on many adventures to new places, people, nature, animals and all was to enjoy, learn, and share with others. She is a beautiful lady inside and outside personifying honesty, love and integrity; traits to make one’s own for true richness in life. Devotion to her husband, daughters, and friends shone throughout her walk on earth. Beauty was seen in all things by her, great and small. And all she touched will be remembered by many. Betty is survived by her daughters, Barbara Burrill (George D. Murphy) of Tucson, Leanne Goldey (Ron) of Oxford, OH; grandchildren, Caylin and Dylan; aunt, Carrie Rietz of Matoaka, WV; cousins, Carolyn (“sister’) Johnson of Minneapolis, MN, Cleone Blankenship of Matoaka, WV, Ziola Herzog of Bloomfield, NE; sister friend, Virginia Finkelnburg of Pocatello, ID and many dear friends. Remember her loving heart surrounded in music, singing, and dancing through our lives. Betty and Scott are together… as “ALWAYS’. DEVAULT, Robert Martin, 83, died Friday, December 29, 1995 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Muriel Sutherland DeVault; his son, Denise Robert DeVault of Bismarck, ND; grandchildren, Brian Douglass DeVault of Flagstaff, AZ, Donald Martin DeVault of Mesa, AZ, Kimberly Jo DeVault of Tucson, and Aaron Vincent DeVault of Scottsdale, AZ. He was born in Kansas City, MO, August 17, 1912. Was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Martin DeVault and parents, Harry DeVault and Inez C. Wilson DeVault. He graduated from the University of Arizona where he was a charter member of Alpha Kappa Psi honorary fraternity, and a member of Delta Chi fraternity. He was in business in Craig, CO before serving in the US Army in WWII. After the war he worked with Eagle Picher Mining and was associated with several accounting firms. He was a life long member of the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants and retired from Elmer Fox Westheimer and Co. The Memorial Service will be held January 4, at 3:00 p.m. at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Boys and Girls Club or the American Diabetes Society.

Antonio R. Lespron 76, of Tucson, died December 30, 1995 following a stroke. Born July 5, 1919 in Chihuahua, Chihuahua Mexico to parents Petra and Victoriano Lespron. Preceded in death by daughter, Armida and son Jesus; sisters, Maria Ascencion, Emilia, Herlinda, Natividad, Candelaria, and brother Jose. Survived by wife, Consuelo Flores Lespron; daughter, Gilda (Frank) Esparza; sons, Jorge and Tony (Susan) Lespron; granddaughters, Michelle Lespron, Cecilia Esparza, Clarissa Lespron, Samantha Lespron; grandsons, Christopher, Sergio, and Danus Lespron; and great grandson, Chris Lespron, all of Tucson; brother, Mario Lespron; and sister, Epifania Cordero, both from Juarez Mexico. Distinguished himself in honesty, dedication to family, and inextinguishable energy for work. married April 17, 1944, received degree in forestry in Mexico City, moved family to Tucson in 1955, naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1960, worked as laborer, retired as custodian from TUSD.
