D’ANTONIO, LaVerne, 70. In loving memory of LaVerne who passed away on November 2, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, Belmonte “Tony’ in 1983, and by her son, Michael Joseph in 1972. Survived by daughter, Sandra (Ray) Dunny of Payson, AZ; son, Monte “Joe’ D’Antonio of Tempe, AZ; and daughter, Victoria (Tom) Slutes of Tucson; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother, Homer “Buddy’ Love of San Francisco, CA and by many nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held on Friday, November 10, 1995 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the home of Victoria Slutes. Directions: On Tanque Verde, between Kolb and Sabino Canyon, north of Camino Principal. Follow signs (D`Antonio gathering) to 6114 E. San Cristobal, Tucson, AZ (722-5672). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances may be made to your favorite charity.

ELLINWOOD, Thomas Rounsevell, born in Bisbee, Arizona August 14, 1922, died in Silver City, New Mexico November 2, 1995. Funeral will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Tucson Botanical Gardens.

EVANS, Alice M., 90, died Sunday, November 5, 1995. Survived by son, William Moss of Sierra Vista, AZ; sister, Ruby Lawrence of Tucson; brother, Robert Holt of KY; step-daughters, Elaine Killewald and Donna Wyland of MI; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour before Funeral Service which will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Rev. Rollo Casiple officiating. Burial to follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

GONZALES, Geronimo A., 58, of Tucson, passed away November 4, 1995. Survived by wife, Shirley Gonzales; daughters, Ruby Rae Gonzales and Thomsian Esparza; step-daughter, Josette (Juan); sons, Barnabus Gonzales and Nicholas Gonzales; stepsons, Manolito Bustamante and Jethro Bustamante; sisters, Carmen Hernandez, Victoria Guevara and Isabel Estrada; brothers, Manuel and Andres Gonzales; step-brothers, Margarito, Aurelio and Melquiades Gastelum. Also survived by five grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 1995 from 4:00 p.m. on at 8789 S. Little Nogales Road with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Thursday, 8:30 a.m. at San Xavier Mission. Interment to follow at San Xavier Cemetery. MARSTON, Aurora C., 93, of Tucson, died September 9, 1995. Survived by son, Edward J. (Ruth) Marston of Tucson; grandchildren, Bruce E. (Donna) Marston of Phoenix, AZ and Julie L. (Daryl) Leeson of San Mateo, CA; great grandchildren, Jill Aurora and Julie Lynn Marston of Phoenix, and nephew, Luis C. Mancera of Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Born in Chametla, Sinaloa, Mexico; resided in Nogales, AZ from 1933 until 1952 when she moved to Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 1946 E. Lee Street, Tucson, AZ. Internment will be at Nogales Cemetery, Nogales, AZ .

SIERRA, Rose V., 90, of Tucson, died November 6, 1995. Survived by husband, John V. Sierra; daughters, Lessie Harrington, Fay Parks, Pauline Reedy, Charlotte Weaver, Marrietta Price, Betty Doyle, Lonnie Grubb; sons, Harold J. Rutherford; two brothers; three sisters, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY with interment to follow Evergreen Cemetery. SMELTZER, James R., 66, of Tucson, died November 6, 1995. Survivors include his wife, Jean; children, Velma, Katherine, Susan, Georgia and David, all of TX, Loren (Kerry) Smeltzer, Neil (Debra) Smeltzer, Kimberly Schachter, Janice (Rodney) Hergenreter, all of Tucson; many grandchildren, his parents, Robert and Gaynelle Smeltzer of VA; brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Alvin and Norman. Preceded in death by his son, Warren L. Smeltzer. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 1995. Funeral Services will be at DMAFB Chapel 1, 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 1995. Interment will follow at a later date.

STONELL, William Fredrick, 85 years old, died Sunday, November 5, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by wife, Florence Stonell of Tucson; two daughters, JoAnn Prell of Hinsdale, IL, Jean DelFavero of Hanover Park, IL; brother, Robert Stonell of Elmhurst, IL; four grandchildren. BAUER, Margaret, 79, of Tucson, died November 3, 1995. Survived by sisters, Katherine (Ralph) Pella of Tucson, Mary Corrie of Tucson, and Betty (Pete) Lahni of OH; nephews, David, Mike, and Nick Lahni of OH, and Edward Corrie of Tucson; niece, Dona Marie Corrie of CA. Graveside Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 6, at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

BRANNING, Mildred Fern, 77, of Tucson, died November 2, 1995. Survived by son, Robert (Nadine) Branning of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Katherine (Stephen) Gottlieb of New York, NY; brothers, George Dodd of OH, Robert Dodd of FL; grandchildren, Jessica and Kristen Branning of OR. GREGORY, Frank E. II, 48, of Tucson, died November 3, 1995. Survived by wife, Marcy; son, Frank E. Gregory III; daughter, Traci Lynn Gregory; step-daughters, Stephanie M. Furr, and Jamie Lee Furr; mother, Marjorie Ross; sisters, Sue (Jan) Larimer, Barbara (Evan) Evans, and Vikki (Randy) Agron; several nephews and a niece. He’s missed by so many. He’s loved by his family, in-laws, friends, and clients. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7, at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

HERSH, Bianca, 88, of Tucson, died November 4, 1995. She was a life member of Hadassah, and member of congregation Anshei Israel. Survived by son, Dr. Evan (Lydia) Hersh of Tucson; sister, Clara Green of New York; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Leo Hersh and a daughter, Miriam Tzur. Graveside Services Tuesday 2:30 p.m. Congregation Anshei Israel Section of EVERGREEN CEMETERY, with Rabbi Arthur R. SMITH, Linda M., 53, of Tucson, died November 4, 1995. She was a member of Eastside Assembly of God. Survived by husband, Eugene R. Smith of Tucson; son, Eugene R. Smith Jr. of Tucson; daughters, Sylvia, Salinda, Simone, Saperna; mother, Sylvia Bleile of Tucson. Services Tuesday 2:00 p.m. Eastside Assembly of God, 1930 S. Wilmot Rd. SMITH, Samuel Inman, 72, of Tucson, passed away November 4, 1995. He was born in Morristown, TN, September 25, 1923 to Benjamin H. and Mary M. Smith. He moved to Tucson in 1944 with his brother Benjamin H. Smith, Jr. During WWII he served aboard the U.S.S. LaGrange in the South Pacific. After his discharge from the Navy he returned to Tucson where he met and married his wife Mildred A. Larson. He worked at various jobs until he was hired by the Southern Pacific Railroad, where worked until his retirement in 1987. He is survived by his daughters, Vivian L. Hasch of Phoenix, Vicki L. (Jerry) Swain, and Sherie I. Smith of Tucson; granddaughters, Shawna D. Skaggs and Jasmine M. Swain of Tucson; grandsons, Steven I. Smith and Samuel R.B. Swain of Tucson; sister, Mary (Polly) Burke of Morristown, TN; and brother, Benjamin H. Smith of Inverness, FL; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, parents and four brothers, A.J., G. Wayne, Rubel, and Willie Frank. His family would like to thank the following for their help and kindness in making his last days an easy time for him and his family; the staff at the Southwestern Radiology an Oncology Ltd., The Carondelet Home Health Care and Hospice Homecare professionals, AmbuVan, Rural Metro, and the staff at inpatient Hospice at St. Joseph Hospital. SPENCE, Alice Paule (Liliane), 66 years old, died Friday in Tucson. Survived by son, Richard Spence of Thornton, CO; one grandson, Richard Spence; brother and sister-in-law, Herschel (Peggy) Spence of Show Low; step-mother, Jacqueline Desamblanx of Memphis, TN; and several nieces and nephews. CLARK, Carmen E., 83, born November 23, 1911 in St. Charles, MN. Mrs. Clark wasa long time LaGrange, IL resident who spent six months of the year in Tucson, AZ. She was a music teacher for many years in LaGrange. She died on November 2nd at the Tucson Medical Center. She was a member of the Chapter AD P.E.O./I.P.S. Survivors include three sons, Charles (Charlotte), Richard (Laurie Rose) and Gary (Rieta Liggett); one sister, Dorothea Root; four grandchildren, Charles Alan and Cynthia Lynn Clark, David Rose and Jamie Liggett; two great grandchildren, Lauren Hannah Clark and Allison Nicole Clark-Zurawski. She was preceded in death by her late husband Charles Phillip Clark. Funeral Service in Tucson will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 1995 at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, and friends may call from 1:00 p.m. till service time Saturday, at BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, Tucson, AZ. Visitation in LaGrange will be 12:00 Noon to 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, with a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be Tuesday, November 7, in Flora, IL. KAHL, Salena Jay, 14, of Tucson, most beloved and cherished daughter of Wendy Lynn. Senselessly murdered Saturday night October 28, 1995 in Tucson. A treasure this world will miss. The mourning friends remaining here have known a very special life and love. Memorial Services at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 1995. ROOME, Edwin L. Jr., born February 22, 1908, passed into eternal rest with his beloved Lord on November 1, 1995. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin L. and Elizabeth Roome. Survivors include wife, Polly; daughter, Betty Erbig of NJ; brother, La Roy of NH; sisters, Margaret Wood of NJ and Gladys Pruner; and several nieces and nephews of Naples, FL; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren of NJ; step-son, Jeffery B. Andersen of Petaluma, CA; step-grandson, Harvey M. Andersen III and family of Rio Rancho, NM. Eddie was a member of the AZ Preceptory De Molay Legion Honor; board member of the Exchange Clubs of Tucson Prevention of Child Abuse Center, Parent Aide Program. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Exchange Clubs of Tucson Prevention of Child Abuse Center, P.O. Box 43122, Tucson, AZ 85733-3122 or to the Zonta Club of Tucson, 3710 S. Park Avenue Suite 706, Tucson, AZ 85713, an international service organization of which his wife has been an active member for many years. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, November 7th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 750 W. Chapala, Tucson, AZ 85704.

WORNER, John J. Capt. USN Ret., 80, passed peacefully away on October 30, 1995. Beloved father of Eileen Schwab (Peter) and Gina Fischer (Alan) and grandfather of Andy Schwab. Also survived by sister, Virginia Kopecky of Syracuse and her children, Jean, Jane, Judy and Cliff. Born February 2, 1915, John was a 1937 graduate of the University of Wisconsin College of Chemical Engineering. He joined the Navy in 1937 and served 22 years, receiving numerous medals and citations flying missions in World War II. After retiring from the Navy in 1959 he moved his family to Tucson and worked as a chemical engineer and later as a salesman at Jensen’s Custom Ammunition for many years. His family wish to thank the many caregivers that helped John during his later years. He bore his illness with grace and dignity and we love and miss him sorely. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 6, 1995 at St. Pius X, 7651 E. Pima, at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment with military honors at East Lawn, 5801 E. Grant Rd., follows. Arrangements by HEATHER MORTUARY.
