She was known as the “Storybook Grandma.’ Survived by her daughters, Carmen Cardiel, Mary Lou Escobar, Josie P. (Joe) Donley, Sylvia (Reynaldo) Martinez; son, Robert (Irene) Preciado; son-grandson, Danny Orduno; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and her only surviving brother, Johnny Ravago. Visitation will be held Friday December 1, 1995 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL. Rev. Robert Preciado officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery.

WILLIAMS, Herbert, (Chief) G., born August 10, 1931, passed away November 25, 1995. Survived by wife, Patricia Williams; children, Patricia Price, Dawn Hansen, Herbert Williams Jr., Bambi Stormont; sisters, Cecil Vidal, Mary Jane Hoover, Josie Irey, Ella Johnson; brother, Frankie Guerrero; and eight grandchildren.
ABSOLON, Juliet Jasper, died at her home in Tucson on November 24, 1995 at age 93. Predeceased by her husband Walter A. Absolon. Survived by sister, Gertrude Rathbone Jasper of Hampton Bays, NY; godsons, Robert W. Johnson of Lawndale, CA and William F. Florich of St. Louis, MO. She was born in New York City, NY on July 9, 1902. In the late 1950's she and her husband moved to Tucson seeking a more favorable climate for his arthritis. The memory of Julie will be forever carried by her family and by numerous other relatives and friends who knew her, and cared for her during her illnesses. The burial office will be read in celebration of her life at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. She is also survived by another son, Greg Thompson and two grandchildren, Gabriel Thompson and Greg Thompson Jr. Mrs. Blowitz was the owner of the Lazy K Bar Ranch for the last 20 years. KUMMER, William George (Bill/Bing), CWO-4 US Army Ret. was born February 21 1914 in McCook, NE and died November 24, 1995 having lived in Tucson since 1960. He is survived by beloved wife of 59 years, Malasena; daughters, Donna (Leslie) Vader of Nogales, AZ, Barbara (Gerald) Gardner of Moreno Valley, CA and Dolores (Anthony) Tezak of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Daniel (Irene) of Ogallala, NE, Raymond of North Platte, NE; sister, Evelyn Mayer of Denver, CO. He is also survived by the following grandchildren and great grandchildren, William (Linda) Wimmer, Michael, Stephen and William, Angela, Peggy (Jack) Armstrong, Robert Wimmer, Lesley, James (Luz) Wimmer, Donna, Lucy, Jacquelynne, Thomas Vader, Jonathen Tressler, Anthony Gardner, Joseph and Matthew Tezak and a number of nieces and nephews. He grew up in McCook and North Platte, NE. Entered the US Army at age 19 and served 16 years as a non Com. Officer, was commissioned a Warrant Officer in December 1948 and retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer from St. Huachuca in 1862 after 30 years of service. He was a patriot and proud of his military service. He served during WWII and the Korean Conflict being in the 1st Calvary Division, one of the first units to enter Korea from Japan in 1950. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Retired Officers Association, and a member of St. Ambrose Parish for over 35 years and a member of The Senior’s Club and the Men’s Club. Friends may call 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 27, 1995 at St. Ambrose Church 300 S. Tucson Blvd where Mass of the Resurrection will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday with Rev. SHAAR, Jane A. Campbell, passed away on November 17, 1995. She has been a resident of Tucson for 30 years. Jane was born to Frank and Billie Campbell in Brady, TX on May 21, 1928 and was raised in Long Beach, CA. She and her first husband, Proctor Reed lived in San Bruno, CA and Prescott, AZ where they raised their two daughters, Jocelyn and Eileen. In Prescott Jane and her family were active in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. She began her career with the Social Security Administration in Prescott and transferred to the Tucson office in 1965. She retired in 1988 after 29 years with the agency. She and her husband, James L. Shaar celebrated her joining the Catholic faith and renewed their wedding vows with family and friends celebrating the event on October 10, 1995. She is survived by her beloved and loved husband, James (Jimmy) L. Shaar, a longtime resident of Tucson; her daughters, Jocelyn (Stephen) Reed Swanson of Foster City, CA and Eileen (Michael) Heintzelman of Santa Clara, CA; her loving sister, Patricia (Jim) Annan of Tucson; her brother, Francis Campbell of CO; and her beloved grandson, Christopher Reed Swanson; and many nieces and nephews. SIMONS, Dorothy E., 74, passed away and joined her Lord on Saturday, November 25, 1995. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Clyde; son, Richard (Rosilyn) of Tucson; grandchildren, Julie Ann and Scott Alexander Simons; great grandchildren, Amber Simons-O’Neil and Daniel Ortiz-Simons.
