MICHAEL, Sharon Moon, 59, of Tucson, AZ., and formerly Naperville, IL., died September 2, 1995 of cancer. Preceded in death by her parents, Lester W. Moon and Genevieve Strong Moon. Survived by her son, Kevin Michael of Burbank, CA., and her ex-husband, Randy Michael of Tucson. A graduate of Stephens College and Naperville High School. Director for many years of the American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association and the Arizona Saddlebred Association. A member of United Professional Horsemans Association, American Horse Shows Association, American Saddlebred Horse Association and American Saddlebred Horse Museum. Gathering of friends, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. MOSEMAN, Ralph W., 78, of Tucson, died August 31, 1995. Preceded in death by wife, Mona; Survived by sons, Rich (Bettie) Moseman of Tucson and Jack (Kat) Moseman of WA; grandchildren, Ben (Jill), Jack (Karen), Mindy (Brett), Mona, Debi and Jim (Marg); and nine great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 7 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with Dr. Wayne North officiating. Masonic graveside service will follow in East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

Mother of Oscar Skinner, Arlene Oviedo, Bettie (Joe) Gomez, Alex (Anna) Skinner, Marvin (Debra) Skinner, Debra (Jesus) Canez; daughter of Lupe and Al Vanark; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren also survive. VAN AUKEN, Margaret, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, 78, of Tucson, passed away September 4, 1995. She was born June 1, 1917, in Kewanee, IL., and moved to Tucson in 1952. Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard, and her daughter, Jacqueline. She is survived by her son, Dennis Van Auken of Tucson; daughter, Lynette McCown of Clear Lake, TX; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave., on Wednesday, September 6, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 1995.

WOLKEN, Eleanore Marie, 76, dearly beloved wife of Robert H. Wolken in their 50th year of marriage, the Lord took her in her sleep on September 1, 1995. Survived by her sister, Dolores Johans of St. Louis, MO; children, Thomas Robert (Kathy) Wolken, Marie Eleanore (Michael) Garigan, Deborah Ann (Randy) Hagler; grandchildren, Jason and Angela Wolken, Eric, Patricia and Donald Garigan, all of Tucson. 'Mother-a word that holds the tender spell of all the dear essential things of Earth'-this was truly 'our' mama. We love her and will miss her so very, very much. A special thank you from the family to the staff on 2nd floor West of El Dorado Hospital, you were all wonderful to our mom. ARNOLD, Katherine, 60, of Tucson, died August 27, 1995. Survived by mother, Magda Arnold; sisters, Joan Arnold and Margaret Gaviller; children, Teresa Levin, Clare Kendall, Stephen Quinn, Jeannette Quinn, Mark Johnson; five grandchildren. Katherine is also remembered with appreciation by her many friends. The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, at St. Cyril's Church, at Swan and Pima. ARVIZU, Rebecca C., 76, of Santa Ana, CA was called to her new home with our Lord on August 29, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. She was born January 30, 1919 in Tucson, AZ. to Rafael A. and Sara Huerta Castro. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Arvizu; brother, Gilbert Castro and her grandson, Frank R. Ford. Survived by brothers, R. Rudy (Virginia) Castro of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Olga L. (John W.) Ford of Tucson, AZ, Tina (Rudy) Gutierrez of Santa Ana, CA. and Sally (Ignacio) Ortiz of Rancho Santa Ana, Margarita, CA; sons, Frank H. (Sylvia) Larriva, Gilbert (Renee) Hermosillo, ronald (Linda) Arvizu and Fred (Carmen) Arvizu, allof Santa Ana, CA, and Jesus (Ofelia) Arvizu of Tucson, AZ; brother in law, Gilbert Arvizu of Santa Ana, CA.; sister in law, Sarah Castro of Tucson; uncle, Fred Huerta and aunt, Julia Huerta of Tucson; 24 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She is greatly loved by all and will be terribly missed. Reunited in heaven with all her loved ones. May she join the choir of Angels to greet us when it is our time to make this journey home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Monica's Church. Final disposition will be held in Santa Ana, CA. BOWERS, Jeanne Eileen York, 77, died Thursday, August 31, 1995. Jeanne was born in Springfield, IL, during her lifetime lived in many parts of the U.S., and for the past 18 years lived in Tucson. Jeanne was a graduate of Western Carolina College (now Western Carolina University), Cullowhee, NC, and taught school in North Carolina prior to devoting her life to her husband and family after her marriage to F. Robert Bowers in 1942 in Oxford, OH. Jeanne was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi International Service Sorority, and served in several offices in a Tucson Chapter during her life here. She is survived by her husband, F. Robert Bowers of Tucson; sister, Ann Akins of Port Richey, FL; brother, Philip (Connie) York of Hamilton, OH; sister, Caroline York Paris of Lexington, NC and sister-in-law, Charlotte Glenn of Tempe and Tucson; her children, Robert (Judy) Bowers of Tucson, Thomas (Barbara) Bowers of Bailey, CO, Gene Bowers of Coco Beach, FL, Kathleen Johnson of Hinesville, GA and Phyllis (Dennis) Tyree currently in Germany where her husband is on assignment with the U.S. Army; grandchildren, Lisa Bowers and Brian Bowers of Tucson and eight other grandchildren. In accordance with her wishes and those of her family no visitation will be held. As was her wish, her cremated remains will be interred later in a quiet, country cemetery near Canton, NC, with her parents, Philip and Maude York, two brothers, James York and Charles Hurley York who died many years earlier. A Service for friends and family will be held at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway, at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 5, 1995. Contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 13126, Tucson, 85732 or to the charity of your choice.

EWING, Melba Dean, 66, of Tucson, died Thursday, August 31, 1995 in Concord, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Blair Ewing. She is survived by her children, Steven Ewing of Hereford, AZ., Laura Ewing Kilcorse of Concord, CA., Diane Ewing Infante of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Jack Blair Ewing II, Tiffany Marie Ewing, both of Hereford, AZ., Katie Diane Infante, Michael Dean Infante, both of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Theresa Morgan Anderson Jackson of Big Spring, TX; father, Marion Elbe Anderson (deceased); sisters, Billie Jean Anderson Rowe Gibson of Odessa, TX., Janice Anderson Minter of Richardson, TX; three nephews and three nieces. A Girl Scout Brownie leader, she was active in civic affairs and was elected Woman of the Year. A graduate of Big Spring High School, 1947 and attended Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX. Member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a homecoming beauty. Also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was artistic, loved sewing, music, and was known for her love of small children. GELETA, Margaret Ann, 84, went to be with the Lord, peacefully at home with dignity September 1, 1995. Survived by sons, Donald (Althea) Geleta of Valley Springs, CA., Thomas Geleta, James Geleta, Glenn Geleta all of Tucson; daughters, Nanci (Aldo) Roberts of Tucson, Margaret Bruck of Imperial Beach, CA., Doris (Ivan) Eagleson of Mt. View, CA; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside Services Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. Holy Hope Cemetery with Rev. Donald Fiedler officiating. McDANIEL, Ella M., 73, of Tucson, died Thursday, August 31, 1995. Survivors include five children, Kay (George) McClure, Frank (Ruth Ann) McDaniel, Doralene (Ed) Beaupre, Wayne McDaniel, Timothy I. (Merlene) McDaniel; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, all of AZ; two brother, Dudley, Leslie Starn; one niece, Jackie (Larry) Hoffman; one great niece Ginger, all of Leslie, AR. Mrs. McDaniel's hobbies were bowling, and handcrafts. Friends may call at 6051 E. 26th St. Graveside service will be at Desert Vista 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 1995. PITTENGER, Walter W., 81, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died Thursday August 31, 1995. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Lois J. Pittenger; son, Tom (Ellen) Pittenger of CA; daughters, Barbara (Michael) Ward of Pine, AZ. and Claudia Pittenger of WA; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother, Donald (Catherine) Pittenger of IN; nieces and nephews.Walter was a Tucson resident for 59 years. He was known to local photographers as the manager of Nu-Art Photo Service (Speedway Store) for 36 years. He was instrumental in founding the Tucson Camera Club and was active in it for over 50 years. He was an active member of Streams in the Desert Lutheran Church.
