PHILLIPS, Donald L., 58, of Tucson, passed away September 18, 1995. Survived by son, Danny (Paula) Phillips; brother, Kenneth Phillips; sister-in-law, Fern Phillips; numerous other brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends; four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family requests remembrances be made to the TMC Hospice Program, 5401 E. Grant Rd. Tucson, AZ 85712. No Services are planned. Arrangements HEATHER MORTUARY.

RICH, Gary, 54, of Tucson, died August 31st, 1995 in Louisville, Kentucky. Gary, born Barry Timothy Wood, on March 12, 1941 in DeLand, Fla., served two terms in Vietnam. Gary was manager at APC Equipment for five years. His family of friends will have a memorial service Saturday, September 23 at sunset on Mt. Bigelow Rd. on Mt. Lemmon.

UNDERWOOD, Melisa A. (Sunshine), 17, of Tucson, died September 19, 1995. Survived by loving parents Gary and Pat Underwood, her loving sister, Teri, all of Tucson; boyfriend, Andrew Mora; grandparents, Nina and Thomas Underwood and Jack and Jane Stumph, all of IL; aunts and uncles, Janice and Ron Smith of Tucson, Junior and Brenda Stumph and Gene And Georgianna Underwood of IL; great aunt and uncle Leikness of MN and great aunt and uncle Connie and Jay Stumph of IL; eight cousins. Melisa was an Honor Roll student and a member of the band at Mountain View High School. She was an employee of Target Department Stores. Friends may call 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 1995 with the Funeral service at 2:30 p.m.m at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee with Pastor Gary Marquez of North Swan Baptist Church. She was our world and her sunshine will be in our hearts forever.

AMADOR, Clorinda, 83, of Tucson, passed away September 18, 1995. Preceded in death by husband, Elezar Amador and son, Oscar Amador. Survived by daughter, Rosa 'Alberto' Moreno; son, Elezar 'Belia' Amador; sister, Maria Sanchez; brother, Juan Aldana. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (Center Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Friday, 9:00 a.m. at Santa Cruz Church. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

GANSKI, Mary A., 74, died September 15, 1995. Wife of Albert Ganski; mother of, Michael (Diane) Ganski of Washington, D.C., and John Ganski of Tucson; sister of, Joseph Olsavsky of MI., and George Olsavsky of FL. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Ganski was very active at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church where she taught CCD for many years. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 21, 1995 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL 6910 E. Broadway. Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 22nd, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1800 S. Kolb Rd. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 21, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

JANKOWSKI, Floyd J., 69, of Tucson, went to be with the Lord on September 17, 1995. Born October 20, 1925 in Detroit, MI. He was a W.W. II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of American Legion Post #36 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #747. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Survived by wife, June Jankowski of Tucson; sons, Alan Jankowski, Daniel Jankowski, both of Tucson; daughters, Linda Pagel, Carolyn Haskins and Patricia Jankowski-Gallo, all of Tucson; brother, Walter Jankowski of Bay City, MI; sisters, Anne Eichorn, Jeanette Nadolny, both of Bay City, MI, Dorothy Ouillette of Tucson; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, John Yarrats and his mother, Frances. Services Friday 11:00 a.m., EVERGREEN MORTUARY with Reverend John Alt of St. Joseph's Church officiating. Interment following in the Veterans Section of Evergreen Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered. Friends may call Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

LIVINGSTON, Orus Earl, 84, of Tucson, died September 17, 1995. Born October 4, 1910 in Paris, TX. He was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers Association of Tucson. Survived by sons, Cecil Livingston of Midland, TX, Orus R. Livingston of Hobbs, NM; sister, Corrine Phillips of Waco, TX; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Services Thursday 10:00 a.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY, Tucson, Graveside services and interment will be in Levelland, TX. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. Miracle Mile.

McMAHON, Mary Susan 'Susie', 45, of Tucson, died September 14, 1995. Survivors include her parents, James T. and June McMahon; brothers, James T. (Pam) McMahon Jr., Edward M. (Donna) McMahon; sisters, Libby (Peter) Granatowski, Margaret (Ron) Beck; five nieces; and one nephew. Preceded in death by her brother, John. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd. (at Speedway), from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, September 21, with Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. Mass will be at St. Cyril's Catholic Church, 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 22, 1995. MILLER, Doris R., 92, born in Bolkow, MO., was a resident of Tucson for the past year and a half, died Monday, September 18, 1995. Survived by her children, Raymond Miller of Tucson, Roy H. Miller of CA and Joan P. Miller of NV; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Doris, while living in Tucson attended Christ Community Church. Services and burial will be in Inglewood, CA at a later date. Local arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.

OLNEY, Charles J., Sr. 50, of Tucson passed away September 15, 1995. Survived by wife, Nancy; children, Charles Jr. and Heather; mother, Louise Olney; sister, Carol (Fran) Holian; father and mother-in-law, William and Beverly Crawford; brothers and sister-in-law, Mark (Renee) Crawford, Jim (Wanda) Crawford, Melissa Crawford and Mace Crawford. Mr. Olney owned Irrigation and Sprinkler Supply, Inc. Memorial gathering will be Friday, September 22, 1995 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at HEATHER MORTUARY, 1040 N. Columbus. SCHWARTZ, Freeda, 72, of Tucson, died September 15, 1995. Survived by daughter, Cynthia (David) Weintraub; son, Jay Schwartz; grandchildren, Robert Mark Weintraub, Allen Max Weintraub, all of Tucson, Robyn, Randi, Aaron Schwartz, all of IA. Predeceased by husband, Alvin A. Schwartz on July 27, 1985. Private Graveside Services were held Tuesday, Congregation Anshei Israel Section of Evergreen Cemetery with Rabbi Thomas Louchheim officiating. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY.

SKOKAN, Mary, 89, of Tucson, died September 18, 1995. Survivors include, one daughter, Rosemarie of Tucson; sisters, Antonia Moulis and Ann (Wells) Prescott; nephew, James (Mary) Moulis, all of New Lenox, IL; nephew, Wells S. (Carol) Prescott of IL. VETTE, Charles H. A., beloved husband of Alyce R. Vette, passed away 9:45 a.m. Sunday morning, September 17, 1995 after a long illness and was laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor David Schwartz officiating.

ALLEN, Frances E., wife of Lt. Col. William W. Allen, USAF, ret., died of a cardiac arrest in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Saturday, September 16, 1995, at the age of 68. She was born in Duncan, OK., on April 11, 1927, to Roma R. and Ella J. Ruyle, and was a Tucson resident for 29 years. She was a very loving and giving person, treasured by many friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Pam Harrington of Tucson, Rebecca (Greg) Lunn of Glendale, AZ., Barbara (Bill) Stensrud of Las Vegas, NV; eight grandchildren, Adam, Daniel, and Stacey Harrington, Scott, Nick, and Jack Lunn, and Phillip and Kristen Stensrud; a sister, Nelda (Frank) Blake of Denton, TX; and a brother, Don (Janice) Ruyle of Austin, TX. She loved travel, chocolate, shopping, and cooking for her family. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Private burial at Ft. Huachuca Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mortuary, Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Heart Assoc. or to the Gospel Rescue Mission.

BALLANTINE, Robert W., 90, of Tucson, AZ, formerly of Mendham, NJ, died September 17, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Garesche Ballantine, his children, Robert D., Martin D., William P. Ballantine and Jeanette B. Mikels, and his step-daughters, Elizabeth T. Woodin and Juliet T. Beckett, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother, Percy H. Ballantine. Mr. Ballantine, born May 9, 1905 in Montros, PA, was graduated from Princeton University in 1927 and was an executive of Neptune Meter Co. of New York. After retirement he moved to Arizona where he became deeply involved with the Arizona Chapter of the Nature Conservancy. In addition he was an accomplished artisan in woodworking as well as needlework. Arrangements for memorial services are incomplete. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Arizona Chapter of the Nature Conservancy, 300 E. University Blvd Ste. 230., Tucson, 85705. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. DICKEY, Lura M. 'Peggy', 86, died September 16, 1995. She is survived by her sister, Lillian C. O'Brien of Tucson; and her nephew, Roddey Burdine of Santa Fe, NM. There will be no services.

DOW, Eleanor W., 80, died September 16, 1995. Wife of, J. Franklin Dow, of Tucson, AZ; mother of, Dorothy Ann Dow Haase of Colorado Springs, CO; grandmother of, Dana Duerr of Phoenix, AZ. Memorial Service 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 1995 at Swan Lake Mobile Home Park Club House, 4550 N. Flowing Wells Rd., with Pastor Barbara Smith officiating. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Tucson Civic Orchestra, 4434 E. 14th St., Tucson, AZ., 85711. Arrangements by BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 236 S. Scott.

EDWARDS, Edward J., SVD, born November 4, 1904 in New York City where he received his early education. Entered the Novitiate of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in 1923 and pronounced perpetual vows in 1929 in Techny, IL. Fr. Edwards was ordained a priest in 1930. After ordination, Fr. Edwards taught in the seminary in Vigan, Philippines, from 1930-1933. Then transferred to the Catholic University in Peking, China as Professor and Editor of Fu Jen Magazine, 1933-35; to Collegio de San Carlos in Cebu, Philippines, 1935-40. The rest of Fr. Edward's life was spent in Tucson, AZ near St. Mary's Hospital where he went to recover his health. Edwards wrote many books including 'These Two Hands' and 'Thy People, My People' about missionaries in the Philippines. He also wrote 'The Chosen', a novel later made into a movie. Fr. Edwards was a life-ling avid reader and carried on an amazing correspondence with many persons in many parts of the world who cherished him as a friend and spiritual adviser.
