BERGEN, Samuel S., M.D., of Tucson, died October 2, 1995. Survived by his wife, Imogene and his children, James of Chicago, IL, Scott of Martinez, CA and Lisa of Tucson; sister, Beatrice Starr of Chicago, IL. Dr. Bergen graduated from the University of Illinois Medical School in 1928. He practiced in Joliet, IL until his retirement in 1973. He served in the Marine Corps during WWII. DAY, Raymond A., Major, U.S.A.F., Ret., 75, died October 1, 1995 at home in Tucson. Major Day was a decorated, WWII B-29 pilot and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1963. He enjoyed a banking career with the Southern Arizona Bank for the next 12 years, retiring in 1975. Golf was a passion, as well as his work with the Exchange Club of Tucson, where he served as President in 1972. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of Tucson; daughter, Catherine (Wendell) Stevens of Payson, AZ; and son, Bradley (Kathy) Day of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Eric and Keith Stevens of Payson, and Devon and Patrick Day of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, and four brothers reside in IL. Memorial Services Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at Davis Monthan Chapel with military honors provided by DMAFB Honor Guard. OSBORNE, Homer H., 66, his wife Linda 52, and three other passengers, Joel Herzog 41 and his two sons Adam 13 and Seth 11, were killed when the plane Osborne was flying crashed on September 24, 1995 near Pueblo, CO. They were returning to Colorado Springs from a tennis tournament in Las Vegas, NV. He was an experienced, instrument rated pilot. Mr. Osborne was born January 26, 1929, in Globe, AZ, to Earl and Ruth Osborne now deceased. His brother, Earl Dean 74, died four days before him on September 20, 1995. His sister, Mary Ellen McArthur of Tucson, survives. The Osbornes are an Arizona pioneer family where his father was a cattle rancher and Indian trader. Homer had the Fresnal Ranch in Arivaca and the Eureka near Bonita, Arizona before moving to Colorado Springs in 1965 where he owned a feed lot near Pueblo. Mr. Osborne graduated from Globe High School and the University of Arizona with a degree in Agriculture and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He leaves a daughter, Donna Murray of Sierra Vista, Arizona; a son, Clay of Flower, Colorado; and four grandchildren. He and Linda were married in 1992 and she leaves a son, Shane Smith of Colorado Springs. Memorial Services were held in Colorado Springs on Friday, September 29.
RUSSELL, Jewel Anne, 81, passed away October 1, 1995. DICKSTEIN, Bernard, 87, of Tucson. Survived by wife, Rebecca Eve; sons, Robert (Carol) Dickstein and Stephen (Ruth) Dickstein; daughters, Ruth (Samuel) Reiter, Susan (Burton) Krohn and Deborah Dickstein; seven grandchildren, George, Sara and Ilene Reiter, Wendy and Jonathan Dickstein, Laurie and Mollie Krohn; two great grandchildren, Rachel and Joshua Reiter and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Dickstein practiced medicine in Flint, MI form 1946 to 1975. He then move to Tucson were he practiced medicine up until three days before his death. He was associated with Dr. Ruben Wagley at Allergy Associates of Tucson. Services Monday 10:30 a.m. Temple Emanu-El with Rabbi Jeffrey Ronald officiating. MOONEY, Timothy P., 43, was killed in an automobile accident near Chapel Hill, NC January 30, 1995. Tim completed undergraduate studies at the U of A in 1972. He performed 4 years of military service with the U.S. Navy. He then attended the U of A School of Law being awarded a J.D. in 1981 followed by a position with the U.S. Justice Department, Washington D.C. for the next 8 years. At the time of his death he was a Doctoral Candidate in Archeology at U.N.C. Chapel Hill. He is survived by his parents, Joseph F. (Colonel, Ret. U.S.A.F.) and Phyllis Mooney; a brother, Joe of Tucson; two sisters, Stephanie of Pittsburgh, PA and Meg of Buffalo, NY. Internment was at East Lawn Cemetery after a private funeral Mass at the U of A Newman Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Timothy Mooney Scholarship Fund, Law College Association, The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85775-2101.
SAUCEDO, Ramona Arce, 82, passed on to Heaven on September 29, 1995. She is survived by seven children, Carmen Saucedo, Juan (Frances) Saucedo, Rudy (Gloria) Saucedo, Connie (Louie) Saenz, Peter (Lucy) Saucedo, Bobbie (Diana) Munguia, Jessie (Paul) Williams; sister, Rosario Vejar. Also survived by 33 grandchildren and 55 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
