FRANZONI, John Paul, 64, died October 13, 1995. Husband of Shirley Franzoni. Father Paula (David) Nicholson, and Jean (Christopher) Keller, all of New York, and Andrea Barber (David) Husmann, and Lisa Creech (Louis) Gelia Jr., all of Tucson; nine grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16, 1995 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 16 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

HICKS, Eva Bonecutter, 84, of Tucson passed away October 10, 1995. Survived by children, Joanna (Bill) Oden of Blythe, CA, Janelle (Larry) McDevitt of WA state and John Bonecutter of Las Vegas, NV. Also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and the son and daughter of the late Charles Hicks. Memorial Services will be held Friday, October 20, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church Chapel, 4th and University Blvd. with the Rev. Jack Baca of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. Remembrances may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church and St. Mary's Hospital Volunteer Program. Arrangements by ARIZONA MORTUARY.

HUGHES, Lewis W., 68, died October 12, 1995. Son of Josephine Hughes. Father of Margaret (Kenneth) James, Kathleen (Scott) Kelley, Maureen (Daniel) Wallace, Timothy (Deborah) Hughes, all of Tucson and James (Ruth) Hughes of Long Island, NY. Son-in-Law of Trudie Lang of Tucson. Nine grandchildren also survive. Mr. Hughes was a member of I.P.A., Arizona Rangers, Nassau Co. D.A.I., P.B.A. and S.O.A. He was a retired Nassau County Detective Lt. Mass will be offered 10:00 a.m. Wednesday October 18, 1995 at St. Frances De Sales Catholic Church, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 17 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. JEFFERIES, Frances A., born August 21, 1932 in New York City, a Tucson resident since 1963, went to be with the Lord on October 15, 1995. Survived by her beloved husband, James J. Jr.; beloved son, James J. (Barbara) Jefferies III; grandsons, James J. Jefferies IV and Travis Alexander Jefferies. Mothers-By-Love, Phyllis Luckey, Antoinette Urso and by mother-in-law, Beatrice Jefferies; Sisters-By-Love, Christine Valente, Marie Holst, Denise Bascianelli, Lois Kolibas, Loredana Warnke. Many nephews and nieces and very dear friends in Tucson, New York, Florida, and California. Mrs. Jefferies was preceded in death by her mother and father, Francis J. and Ernestine Urso and uncle, Arthur Podesta. Friends may call at the ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Hope Cemetery. MARCELLA, Betty Lee, 74, passed away Saturday, October 14, 1995. She was born in Indianapolis, IN, and was a very active volunteer for Tucson Medical Center gift shop for 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roy; son Brad Marcella of Denver, Co, son, Doug and wife Suzie Marcella of San Antonio, TX; daughter Marilyn Luyties of Tucson; two grandchildren, Nicole, 15, and Eric 1 1/2 years old. Private Services will be held by the family. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

MONTANO, Leopoldo 'Poli', age 55 years, died Friday, October 13, 1995. Preceded in death by a son, Leopoldo 'Bubba' Valencia Montano Jr. Survivors include daughters, Chris, Arta, Victoria, Kathleen Montano; companion, Amalia Barton; seven grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion Post #68, VFW, a Vietnam Vet. He retired as a Master Sargent from the Air Force. Visitation will be Monday October 16, 1995 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Graveside Service will be 9:00 a.m. at South Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.

MOORE, Donna Sue, 60, died October 13, 1995. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

COOK, Ethel M., 91, a resident of Tucson, died October 12, 1995. Survived by sons, Eugene of Escondido, CA and Bert of Chicago; daughter, Ruth McKinzie of Pekin, IL; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave. Interment South Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

FRALEIGH, Helen, 74, of Tucson, died October 12, 1995. Survivors include children, Barbara Bathrick, Augustus, Gerald, Gerard, and Bruce Fraleigh; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Helen was living with her son and daughter-in-law, Gus and Mila in Tucson since 1982 where she received a tremendous amount of loving care. Funeral Services and burial will be in Rhinebeck, NY. MCCLUSKY, Sterling L., Ret. Lt. Col., 78, died Wednesday, October 11, 1995. Survived by wife, Margeret; sons, Gary A. (Eileen) McClusky of CA and James L. (Marian) McClusky of MO; grandchildren, Misty Buckley, Kimber Polis, Heather Gereke, John Dewhurst; Kay McCluskey and Joshua McClusky; nine great grandchildren. Friends may call 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 15, 1995 and 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday, October 16, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Palms Cemetery with full Military Honors by Davis-Monthan Air Force Honor Guards.

NAUGHTON, Angela, age 88, of Tucson, died October 13, 1995. Her survivors include sons, Frank (Claudia) Naughton, James (Lesa) Naughton; grandchildren, James and Monica Naughton, Frank and Christina Naughton, and James and Suzy Godin. Angela was the devoted wife of Frank Sr. who preceded her in death and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Godin. Angela Naughton was a woman of great strength and character who, with her husband helped establish Naughton Plumbing in 1951. Her commitment to her faith was, and is, a great inspiration and example to her children and grandchildren. Friends may call at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday October 16 with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Cyril's Catholic Church 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17. NYE, Shirley Joan, 61, of Tucson, died peacefully on October 13, 1995. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Stanley R. Nye; and daughters, Terri (Randy) Durham of Parris, CA and Jennifer (Robert) Carreon of Tucson; and eight much loved grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Marion Ryan; sisters, Frances Gallager and Nora Meier of MT and brother, Pat Ryan of WY. Mrs. Nye was originally from Montana and will be laid to rest there. Memorial to be held on Sunday, place and time pending.

ROYBAL, Lalo J., 79, of Oracle, AZ, died October 12, 1995. He was a miner, and retired from Magma Copper. He is survived by his wife, Claudia; sons, Fred and John; daughters, Annamarie, Dorothy and Michelle; 18 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by two sons, Ray and Larry. A Rosary will be said Sunday, October 15, 1995, 6:00 p.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church, Oracle, AZ. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 16, 1995, 9:00 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oracle Cemetery. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee.

SMITH, Doris May, age 81, passed away October 11, 1995 in Tucson. Born December 12, 1913 in Battleboro, VT. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Ira Smith. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 1995 at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, Rev. Gary H. Smith and Rev. Robert Hemphill officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.

STERLING, Robert H., 72, died Thursday, October 12, 1995. Survived by his wife Sylvia; daughter, Barbara (Val) Clemens of CA; sons, Robert of Elgin, AZ and Michael (Patricia) Sterling of CA; grandchildren, Cheryle Wilson, Susan Caraway, Wade Wilson Teague and Dayne Sterling and Sonjia Clemens; brother, Charles of OH; sisters, Virginia Wild and Jean Watson, both of CA. Robert was previous Vice President of D-M Federal Credit Union and current Chairman of Board of Directors. Was on the Mayors Council of Veterans Affairs. Retired after 22 years of military service as Base Sgt. Major of the Air Force at Davis Monthan. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. with Marion McDaniel Masonic Lodge #56 officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery with full military honors by Davis Monthan Air Force.

VARNELL, Harold B., 75, of Tucson, passed away October 12, 1995. Survived by wife of 55 years, Kathleen; daughter, Irene Bracy of Tucson; son, Larry G. of Douglas, AZ; mother, Melcena Varnell (98 years) of Tucson; three brothers, Raymond, Paul and Earl; two sisters, Bonnie and Bernie. Also survived by 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. Park Ave. Memorial Services will be held at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, Monday, October 16 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donations, please do so to the Carondelet Hospice, 1802 W. St. Marys Rd. in his memory.

YOUNG, Sonia Jacqueline, R.N., of Tucson, died October 12 in St. Paul, MN of cancer. She was the dear daughter of Irene and Louis Bracke; brother, James W. Bracke and wife, Carol; niece and nephew Emily and Christopher Bracke. She is also survived and cherished by many relatives and friends, and her beloved dog, Chelsea. She was Program Director of the Arizona Children's Home in the 1970's. She taught piano privately and also consulted to the public school system teaching art and poetry writing. She was a dedicated nurse with a special gift from God for helping terminally ill patients and their families. In 1993 she received a Nursing Commendation for 'Commitment to Excellence' through Interim Health Care in Tucson. She also volunteered at Handmaker Nursing Home and the Tucson Aids Project. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tucson Humane Society. Services will be held in Minnesota.

DICOCHEA, Joe Quijada, Sr., Sergeant United States Marine Corps, 60, former resident of Tucson, AZ, went with God on August 25, 1995 in Fullerton, CA. Born June 22, 1935 in South Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn. Preceded in death by father, Luis Miranda Dicochea, Sr. Survived by mother, Frances Quijada Dicochea; stepson, James Burns; stepdaughter, Joni Burns; and stepgrandson, William Wentworth; sons, Joseph Jr. (Debbie), Gerald; daughters, Judy (Jon) Haley and Jacqueline; brothers, Luis Jr., Tony, Frank Sr., and Alfred Sr.; sisters, Carmen Servin and Angie Dominguez; and grandson, Jacob Haley. Also survived by numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1960, including service in the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge he had the rank of sergeant. His civic and church activities included being a Long Beach Recreation Sports Club Director and as an usher at Saint Phillips Catholic Church. Though living in California, he was a member of the United States Tucson Detachment Marine Corps League. His employer of over 20 years was North American Relocation System, the last 18 years serving in the capacity of quality control supervisor. Interment Services will be at Holy Hope Cemetery, 3555 North Oracle Road, 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 1995 where he will be laid to rest with his father, Luis. Joe was a good husband, father, grandfather, son and brother and will be deeply missed by his family, relatives and friends.

LOVETT, Julia Ann, 98, of Tucson, died Tuesday, October 3, 1995. She is survived by daughter, Jeanne Parish Else of Tucson, AZ; son, Harold O. Lovett of Estill Springs, TN; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Tucson, AZ. Memorial Services will be held at at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave. at Magee, on Monday, October 16, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Barbara Smith officiating. Donations may be made to: Hospice Family Care Memorial Fund, 3443 E. Ft. Lowell, Tucson, AZ 85716.

MANGHAM, Donald Dayton, 62, of Tucson, died October 10, 1995. Survivors include: wife, Grayce; children, Donald, Kenneth and Geraldine; grandchildren, Randall, Kevin and Frederick; sisters, Patricia Denogean of Rialto, CA and Janet Sheets of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Frank Holland of Rialto, CA. Memorial Service will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft, at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 14 with Rev. Kiracofe officiating.
