SPANHOOK, Jon W., 45, of Tucson, died August 13, 1995. He was born August 2, 1950 in Peoria, IL. His devoted family that will honor his memory everyday of their lives, mother, Juanita Spanhook McMurra; sister, Teresa Newell; nieces, Tamara Angiulo and her husband Thomas; nephews, Troy Curtis and Chasen Newell; grandnieces, Randelle, Danielle, Crystal; grandnephews, Cameron, Ryan, Wyatt. Jon's loving companion always, Yolanda, all of Tucson. Jon was preceded in death by his father, Buell M. Spanhook in January, 1995 and stepfather, C. D. McMurray 'Mac' in July 1995. A resident of Tucson since 1956, he served in the armed services during Vietnam. He was an avid outdoorsman and worked in the construction industry. WITTWAY, Zack, of Tucson, passed away August 16, 1995. Survived by wife, Dorothy; son, Zack (Beverly) of Tucson; Vanessa (Kevin); Jordan granddaughter; Trenton great- grandson; Anissa Wittway granddaughter, all of LA; Nick (Loretta) Conroy nephew of CA, Dale (Trish) Conroy, Patty Ann (George) Loukas of IL, Robert Wittway nephew of PA. BODLAK, Edward Louis, 66, of Tucson, left this dimension on July 29, 1995, in Independence, MO, while visiting relatives. He was born in Chicago, IL, March 14, 1929. Graduated from Tucson High in 1947 and attended the University of Arizona. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Was employed with State Farm Insurance Company for 25 years retiring in 1985. For many years Ed was active in the City softball program as a player, coach, manager, and tournament director. He was instrumental in forming the Southeastern Arizona Softball League, as well as starting the Tucson Rattlers professional softball team. Inducted into Southern Arizona Softball Hall of Fame in 1983. Preceded in death by his mother, Ella Bodlak. He is survived by loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Jane Prior; and son, Blair. Also survived by Bruce Prior, John Stanek, Violet Stanek, and sisters-in-law, Ann Woodside, Julia Steffa and Elaine Hunt; and brother-in-law, Bourke Frost. We, his family, celebrate with joy the blessing of his life with us these 66 years. He was a loving, strong, and unique person and he enriched immeasurably the lives of all around him. And it will be said of him that he will never be gone so long as any of us shall live. BROTHERS, John F., 41, died Monday, August 14, 1995, in Payson, AZ where he had moved earlier this year. He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Brothers. Survived by his wife, Beverly; son, John Jeremy; father, John W. 'Jack' Brothers; stepchildren, Jodi and Mark Albrecht; step-grandchildren, Jamie, Jimmie and Jessica; sisters, Victoria (Grant) Albright of CT, Theresa (Louis) Novoa of CA; brother, Matthew; numerous other relatives and many friends. John was an employee of ABCO for 17 years and coached Continental Little League for five years. He recently moved to Payson where he had built his own home. He was working as a plumbers apprentice at the time of his death. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Chapel, 5170 S. Julian Drive, Tucson. CORCORAN, Josephine, 88, died peacefully on August 16, 1995 to be reunited with her beloved husband Frank and son Patrick. She is survived by her grandchildren: Patrick, Sean and Mary Corcoran. Josephine was an ingenious, hard working, loving mother and grandmother whose support and love will be missed by all; whose only regret in passing was that she was not preceded by her daughter-in-law. She was a feisty, little leprechaun full of wit and mischief. Memorial Services for Mrs. Corcoran will be held at Sacred Heart Church on August 18 at 7:30 a.m., 601 E. Ft. Lowell.
DEHAVEN, Thomas V., 91, died August 14, 1995. He was a resident of Albuquerque for 11 years. He is survived by one daughter, Linda A. Rowley and husband Jay of Johnstown, OH; sister-in-law, Marcia DeHaven of Falls Church, VA; two grandchildren, Lawrence A. Gegel and wife Elaine, Leslie E. Burlingame and husband Tony; one great-granddaughter, Michelle Burlingame; Thomas is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A retired professional engineer, Mr. DeHaven and his wife Florence, who preceded him in death, moved to Albuquerque from Tucson, AZ in May 1984. In Tucson he was active in many Civic, Church and Fraternal organizations. He was a long time member and past president of Sabbar Shrine Greeters Unit; a member of the York Rite Bodies of Tucson; Scottish Rite of the Valley of Dayton, OH; and the John W. Durst Lodge #716 F&AM of Dayton, OH. He was active member of Christ Church United Methodist of Tucson, AZ, and past president of the Senior Friendship Group. He was also a member of the NARFE, Tucson Freighter and Travel Club, Ohio Club, Nebraska/Colorado Club, and the Tucson Cactus and Botanical Society. In Albuquerque he was a member of the St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 80, and the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple. A University of Denver graduate in 1927, Mr. DeHaven began his career with GE and RCA, in the research and development of early prototype equipment and the earliest precommercial television and facsimile system. He was credited with several early television patents including the famous circular wedge test pattern, Later he was associated with the General Electric x-ray Co., in Boston, MA, and the Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, NY. After Pearl Harbour, December 7, 1941, he was requested by the 'War Dept' to assist the Army Air Corps in preparing their electronic capabilities for the World War II effort. After an initial assignment in Washington D.C., he was transferred to Wright Field, Dayton, OH, as Chief Civilian executive to the Aircraft Radio/Maintenance Division. After many wartime assignments, including being the USAF member on the Joints Chief of Staff subcommittee on Electronic Testing. He retired in 1965 as Chief, Cost Analysis Div., of the Advanced Systems Planning Div. with headquarters at Andrews AFB, Wash, DC. Following cremation a memorial service for Mr. DeHaven will be held Monday, August 21, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. in Carter Hall of La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Martyn officiating. The cremated remains will then be taken to South Lawn Cemetery in Tucson, AZ for interment. GOLDMAN, Jane Akers, 77, of Tucson, died August 15, 1995. Loving mother of four daughters. She is survived by three, Lisa, Rayna and Suzanne; also survived by grandson, Eric Johnson of Appleton, WI; great-grandson, Derick Johnson of Tucson and great-aunt, Grace Roberson of Roanoke, VA. Jane was a graduate of Roanoke College and of Peabody Library School. Her career as a librarian spanned time and distance from the Great Lake Naval Training Station, the University of New Mexico Law Library, the New Mexico State Library in Santa Fe to the Yuma, Phoenix and Tucson City Libraries. Jane will always be a cherished inspiration to her family and friends. Private service will be held by her family. KADOW, Orville A., 79 years young, entered peacefully into eternal life on August 11, 1995 to be re-united with his late wife, Gertrude, and his late daughter and son-in-law, Judith and David Haltom. Orville was a 23 year resident of Tucson, after having retired from his position as Battalion Chief for the Chicago Fire Department. He had more recently retired from the University of Arizona. He will be greatly missed by his loving family: son, Bill and Jane Kadow; and daughter, Kathy and Dean Flanagan; grandchildren, Joel Haltom, Valerie Kadow Wirth and Mark Kadow and Ryan Kira and Matthew Flanagan. KRZYZANOWSKI, Stanley M., 86, born July 28, 1909, died August 16, 1995. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Stella; sons, David John and Stanley Edward; five grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Stanley came from Blackstone, MA to Tucson in the 30's to recover from Tuberculosis. He started Stan's Swap Shop on 4th Ave. and closed it in the late 60's. He then opened Stan's Museum Village on Kinney Road which stayed opened until his retirement, May of 1987. Stan was a member of the Elks Lodge #385 and a 4th Degree Member Knights of Columbus, Council #1200. WITKOWSKI, Francis 'Frank', a Tucson resident since 1948, died at the age of 82 on August 15, 1995 after a long illness with Parkinson's and Alzheimers. Survived by his wife, Victoria; two sons, Stephen (Gail) of Tucson, Michael (Doreen) of San Juan Capistrano, CA; two daughters, Mary Daws of Tucson and Victoria (Donald) Brautigam of Colorado Springs; and 11 grandchildren; brother, Chester of Erie, PA; sisters, Florence McBrien of Erie, PA, Josephine Freise of Cleveland, OH and Sister M. He held the position of Financial Secretary for Lodge 3173 of the Polish National Alliance; was a member of FOP Lodge 23; became a eucharistic minister and usher at St. John's Catholic Church; was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. John's Catholic Church; was a honorary member of St. Vincent de Paul; and president of the Southwest Bowling League.
