BERGER, Lawrence E., 71, of Tucson, died August 17, 1995. Husband of Jeune P. of Tucson; stepfather of Robert Huff of Michigan City, IL, William Huff and Shirley Hippensteel, both of Hanover, PA and Nancy Castro of Pico Rivera, CA; many many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother of Doris Ripple and Rosie Woodring, both of PA and Alice Waddles of MD. Funeral Mass Monday, August 21, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Church, with burial to follow in Holy Hope Cemetery. BROWN, E. June, 67, passed away August 18, 1995. Survived by four children: daughter, Mary Ellen Brown of Danbury, CT, son, Thomas Brown of Grand Rapids, MI, daughter, Sandra Bruce of San Antonio, TX and Roberta Lynn Pringle of Tucson; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Raymond and Hebert Gort of Grand Rapids, MI also survive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. Services will be held at Simple Alternative Mortuary Grand Rapids, MI. June was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

GONDEK, Walter W., 82, born in Chicago, IL on November 17, 1913, passed away in Tucson, AZ on August 16, 1995. He was a devoted husband to wife Susie for 53 years. He moved to Tucson in 1952 and was employed by Southern Pacific Railroad prior to starting his own Freight Inspection Business. Survived by sister, Marion Baranowitz; nephews, Bob and Cecil Harmon; and niece, Michalene Syrek. Friends may call at Hudgel's SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan, on Sunday, August 27 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday at South Lawn.

KENNEY, Marion T., 83, died Wednesday, August 16, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by two sons, David of Tucson, and John Edward of Phoenix; also two step-sons, Donald Tagtmeier of Mundelien, IL, and William Richard Kenney of East Lansing, MI; five grandchildren, Cary Kenney of Tucson, Dawn Thomas of Salt Lake City, Donna Henry of Milwaukee, WI, Linda Jarrett of Tulare, CA, and Debby Kaczmarowski of Peoria, AZ; nine great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1431 W. Magee Rd, Tucson, on Monday at 10:00 a.m. August 21. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Leukemia Society.

KRICK, Evelyn Lyle, 95, born September 29, 1899, died August 17, 1995. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Krick. She is survived by daughter, Ruth K. (Richard H.) Harris; grandchildren, Laine H. (David R.) McCarthy, Robert H. (Shelia B.) McCarthy; great-grandchildren, Brian H. McCarthy, Sean H., Kathleen J. and Daniel B. Harris. Mrs. Krick, previously of Beverly Hills, CA had been a resident of Tucson since 1989. Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn in Glendale, AZ. KRIETEMEYER, Diane, 58, died August 16, 1995. Survived by her husband, Bud Krietemeyer of Tucson; daughter, Kathi (Don) Mele of Denver, CO; sons, Mark (Ralaine) Krietemeyer of Mesa and Russell (Kathy) Krietemeyer of Tucson; nine grandchildren; brother, Louis (Noreen) Allen of Tucson; stepfather, Walter Brightwell of Tucson. MacQUARRY, Marilyn E., 69, passed away July 31, 1995. Survived by sons Ronald E., Donald C. and David M. Long; daughters-in-law; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; beloved brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; beloved friends. Her humorous ways and love for life will be missed. She leaves us with many happy memories. Arrangements were provided by Desert Rose Cremation and Burial.

MASON, Charles W., 75 years old, died Friday, August 18, 1995. He was an area resident for 50 years. Survived by wife of 54 years, Rose; daughter, Beverly (Larry) Bostic; daughter, Rebecca Mason; son, Walter C.; brother, Robert (Beverly) Mason; brother, John Mason, all of Tucson; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren. NORZAGARAY, Guadalupe 'Lupe', 74, of Tucson, passed away August 15, 1995. Preceded in death by sons, Richard, Alfredo and Daniel. Survived by husband, David Norzagaray Sr. Survived by daughters, Irma (Raul) Diaz, Yolanda (Tony) Moreno, Olga Arandules, Hortensia (Angel) Esparza, Rebecca Yslava, Silvia (Gilbert) Corrales, Patsy (Richard) Caballero, Erlinda (Richardo) Gallego, Leticia (Richard) Ochoa and Catherine (Robert) Montano; sons, David, George (Lori) and Michael Norzagaray. Also survived by 69 grandchildren and many beloved great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 1995 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints, 2915 E. 36th St. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered on Monday, 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of All Saints. RUIZ, Ramon G. 'Ray', 51, of Tucson, passed away August 17, 1995. Survived by beloved wife, Mary Frances Ruiz; parents, Rosalino and Manuela Ruiz; adopted grandmothers, Irene Gagnon and Betty Matteson; daughters, Veronica (Steve) Gibes and Diane Elaine Sotelo; sisters, Gloria R. (Ken) Hoffman, Yolanda Espinoza and Terry (David) Ohnesorgen; brothers, Roy G. (Norma), Frank G. (Clara), Charlie G. (Lou) and Andy G. (Martha) Ruiz. Also survived by one beloved granddaughter, Alyssa Sotelo. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 20, 1995 from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 240 South Stone Ave. with Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be offered Monday, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Church. SAMPSON, John Thomas, a resident of Tucson and Green Valley since 1984, passed away peacefully July 17, 1995. He was 80. He resided at 8111 E. Broadway, Tucson. Mr. Sampson was born May 26, 1915 in East Boston, MA, a grandson of Irish immigrants. He married the former Almera Mina Saxton of Glen Rock, WY. Mr. Sampson was retired from the United States Coast Guard, the Arabian-American Oil Company and Esso Eastern, Inc. He was a veteran of WWII. His career in the oil industry included assignments in Venezuela, Australia and the United States. In later years he assisted Indo China Refugees. He is survived by a brother, George Joseph Sampson of North Sebago, ME and a son, Stephen John Sampson of Honolulu, HI. A Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of the Valley Chapel, Green Valley. Interment was at the Green Valley Mortuary.

STOKES, George E., 65, died August 17, 1995. Survived by his wife, Barbara Stokes of Tucson; son, Thomas F. Stokes of Germany, foster mother, Eliza Kiley of Tucson, brother, Frank Henry Stokes of Tucson. Memorial Service 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 21 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL with Pastor Phil Naylor officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Arizona Cancer Center, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., Tucson 85724. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

BARNARD, Thelma Crutchfield, born July 25, 1903 Olustee, OK, died August 17, 1995. married to Dennis Clayton Barnard who preceded her in death. They had four daughters, Peggy Higgins of Hereford, TX, Sue Hannon of Brawley, CA, Kay Barnard Brown and Denice Bagshaw, both of Sierra Vista. Mrs. Barnard had 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. A resident of Tucson for 40 years, Mrs. Barnard taught school until she retired in 1969. She continued to be an active member of the Arizona Retired Teachers Organization as well as a member of the Catalina Methodist Church. After her retirement she spent the summers at her cabin on Mt. Lemmon. She belonged to the Mt. Lemmon Women's Club and the Loma Linda Home Owners Association. She loved 'the mountains.' Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 1995 at Catalina United Methodist Church, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd., with Rev. Hal Cowart officiating. Interment to follow at TMP, South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway.

CORCORAN, Josephine, 88, died peacefully on August 16, 1995 to be reunited with her beloved husband Frank and son Patrick. She is survived by her grandchildren: Patrick, Sean and Mary Corcoran; sister, Bridie McConville of Donegal, Ireland; and nephew, Thomas McConville of NY. Josephine was a feisty, little leprechaun full of wit and mischief. Her only regret in passing was that she was not preceded by her daughter-in-law. She was an ingenious, hard working, loving mother and grandmother whose support and love will be missed by all. Memorial Services for Mrs. Corcoran will be held at Sacred Heart Church on August 18 at 7:30 a.m., 601 E. Ft. Lowell.

HAYNES, Vern Cyrus, Jr., 48, died August 14, 1995. Husband of Jenell Haynes of Tucson; father of Lisa Fisher, Vern Cyrus Haynes III, Ryan Haynes, Jeff Haynes and Joey Haynes, all of Tucson; stepchildren, Debbie Fitzgerald, Dan Sondrol and Jimmie Ehm; also survived by parents, Vern Cyrus and Betty Haynes of Tucson; brother of Donna Fletcher and William Haynes, both of Tucson; six grandchildren also survive. KRZYZANOWSKI, Stanley M., 86, born July 28, 1909, died August 16, 1995. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Stella; sons, David John and Stanley Edward; five grandchildren and one-great-granddaughter. Stanley came from Blackstone, MA to Tucson in the 30's to recover from Tuberculosis. He started Stan's Swap Shop on 4th Ave. and closed it in the late 60's. He then opened Stan's Museum Village on Kinney Road which stayed opened until his retirement, May of 1987. Stan was a member of the Elks Lodge #385 and a 4th Degree Member Knights of Columbus, Council #1200. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 18, 1995 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel), 240 South Stone Ave., with Scripture Services at 7:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus Chalice Ceremony Lodge #1200 will follow the Scripture Services. Mass will be offered on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral. Interment will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Arrangements by TUCSON MORTUARY, INC.

MARUM, John Starr, died on Tuesday, August 15, 1995. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine; son, John R.; daughters, Patricia Marum, Mary F. (Jim) Lohberg, Susan (Larry) Romney, Rose (Mark) Kasunic and Kathleen (Russell) Trask. John was preceded in death by his daughter Jane and brothers William and Edmond. He leaves 17 grandchildren: Peter and David Manriquez, Larry J., Andrew, Carol, Matthew, Adam, Melanie, Emily and Julie Romney, John and Michael Kasunic; Brigette, Jacquelyn and Athena Marum; Melissa and Nicholas Trask. Mr. Marum is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Marie Marum; cousin, Pauline McCann and sisters-in-law, Lorna Porter, Bernadette Marum and Ann Marum; and also many loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Marum was born January 5, 1917 in Hillside, Arizona to William and Frances Marum. He grew up and attended schools in Yavapai County, graduating from Brophy Prep in Phoenix in 1933. Mr. Marum attended Phoenix Junior College and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1938. He served four years in the United States Air Force during WWII and retired after 30 years employment with Sears and 20 years in real estate sales. Mr. Marum was very active in his church over many years. He was a 40 year member of the Benedectine Eucharistic Guard and was an usher, lector, commentator and Eucharistic Minister at all Saints Church and St. Augustine Cathedral. He served on the Parish Council and was a member of the Finance Committee at the Cathedral. His greatest interest was his family with whom he loved to go camping and hiking. Mr. Marum had also traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 18 at BRING'S MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cathedral Maintenance Fund, 192 S. Stone, Tucson, Arizona 85701 or St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic, 140 W. Speedway, Tucson, Arizona 85705.
