TILTON, Edward F. 'Ned' Sr., of Honolulu, died Friday, August 18, 1995 at Straub Hospital. Ned, 80, was born in Rochelle, IL. He is survived by daughter, MaryAnn Antrasian of MA; son, Edward 'Chip' Jr. of Honolulu, Persida D. Tilton of Phoenix; sisters, Ann Shelley of NE and Betsey Callahan of VA; and two grandchildren, Justin G. McMahan of CA and Ross R.K. Uehara-Tilton of Honolulu. Tilton, retired Administrative Law Judge for the State of Arizona, began his civil service career in Washington D.C. working for the FBI. He began working for the Unemployment Insurance Department in Tucson in 1945 as well as serving the Presbyterian Church and Synod as elder and deacon. He moved to Phoenix in 1957 to assume duties as ALJ. During his tenure in the Capital, Ned Tilton worked on behalf of civil rights reform in and outside the workplace and virtually alone, successfully lobbied the state legislature to improve state worker's retirement benefits to a national parity. He retired in 1979 and moved to Honolulu in 1983, where he pursued an interest in Hawaiian culture and history. He served as a docent for Bishop Museum for ten years and volunteered time on behalf of the Moanalua Gardens Foundation and Historic Hawaii Foundation. Tilton was an avid supporter and friend of traditional Hula schools, The Polynesian Voyaging Society and Hawaiian chant and music. He was an accomplished sailor, organizing the Arizona Yacht Club and serving as Commodore and Officer in the early 1960's and was an instructor for the U.S. Power Squadron. Memorial Service Friday, August 25th 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Atherton Halau, Bishop Museum. Casual attire. Donations to Bishop Museum or Moanalua Gardens Foundation.

VanDerherchen, Ruth, 84, died Monday, August 21, 1995. Survived by husband, Ralph E.; daughters, Carole Seamon of Hampden, MA and Judie Long of Greenville, SC; ten grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren, Preceded in death by daughter Jayne Ernst. Memorial Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 1995 at El Camino Baptist Church, 7777 E. Speedway. Contributions may be made to the Gideons International, P.O. VILLAESCUSA, Georgia 'Jean', 70, of Tucson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 1995 after a brave battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Arthur. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Monica Castillo), Karen (David Peron), Peter (Susan), Betsy (Bill Wilkening), Paul (Tangie); grandchildren, Jesse, Lisa, Patrick, Jean; brothers, Bolt (Rose) Minister, Rob (Ione) Minister; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Villaescusa was a graduate of the University of Arizona and a charter member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority there. She is remembered as a loving mother, an avid gardener, a person who always put others first, and a loyal Wildcat fan. Mrs. 'V' will be missed by all. A Scripture Service will be held Thursday, August 24, 1995 at 7:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 1995 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your favorite charity in her memory.

WILSON, Sally R., 81, passed away on August 19, 1995. She was born in Yugoslavia on September 23, 1913 and was a longtime Tucson resident. She was preceded in death by husband Lloyd, sisters Mary and Angela, father John Smith, mother Mary Turek Smith and brother Steven (Louise). Mrs. Wilson is survived by her son, Joseph P. (Sandra) Wilson; granddaughter, Kimber L. Wilson and brother, John R. (Margie) Smith of Fajardo, P.R. Private service will be held Thursday at South Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Hudgel's SWAN FUNERAL HOME.

BURKHART, Charles W., born on March 10, 1911 in Queen City, Missouri, died Sunday, August 20, 1995. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Leta M.; his children, Delores R. Goeke, Lowell A. (Patti) Burkhart, Sally J. (Duke) Wilson, Charles J. Burkhart, Margo L. Douglas; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Laskey Burkhart and father, Charlie Burkhart. Mr. Burkhart was a retired superintendent from the Optical Sciences Instrument Shop at the University of Arizona. Memorial Services at HEATHER MORTUARY CHAPEL, 1040 N. Columbus Blvd., on Wednesday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.

COFFMAN, Mary Elizabeth, joined her beloved Oscar A., in eternal rest August 19, 1995. Born in Indianapolis on October 16, 1920. Resident of Tucson since 1947. Mary was a member of Tucson Jaycee-Ettes and the Tucson Women's Bowling Association of which she was Past President, 1965-1974. She served also as Sgt. at Arms State Association, 1975-1983, was a member Emeritus and lifetime member of the Hall of Fame. She was retired from Cactus Corporation. She is survived by son, Ralph (B.J.) Coffman; grandsons, Mike (Kathy) Coffman, Raleigh Litton III (Meri), Jeff Litton; granddaughters, Michele Smith, Chrissy and Leslie Coffman and Suzi (Mark) Halliburton Orlando, FL; and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are niece, Barbara (Dolan) Winters, Marietta Coffman and longtime friend and companion Juanita Cromley and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Tucson, SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY CHAPEL, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tuesday, August 22, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at SOUTH LAWN CHAPEL.

DITTMAR, Carol, 73, of Tucson, died August 21, 1995. Survived by sons, John (Linda) Ritter of Tucson and Ronald (Joanne) Ritter of MD; daughter, Carolyn (Matthew) Hetman of Rockaway, NJ; sister, Stella Gortych of FL; and four grandchildren. McDONALD, Valerie Ann Dunn, 62, born February 22, 1933, died August 19, 1995. Preceded in death by parents and brother. Survived by husband, Alvin McDonald; adopted family, Ann, Mark and Laurine Moyer and Ethyl Hines; one niece, nephew and sister-in-law, all of OR also survive. ORR, Alice Greenough, 93, of Tucson, died August 20, 1995. Survived by son, E. Jay F. Cahill of Grandview, MO; sister, Margie Henson of Tucson; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Orr worked for Walls Livestock Supply for many years. She also doubled and performed in many movies. She was a member of National Cowgirl Hall of Fame (1975); Red Lodge Home of Champions – Rodeo Committee, Red Lodge, MT; charter member of Montana Sports Hall of Fame (1957) and National Cowboy Hall of Fame and Museum; Cowbells Association, Tucson; and charter member of P.R.C.A. (formerly Turtles). Services Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. EVERGREEN MORTUARY and CEMETERY, N. Oracle and W. SCHWARTZ, Muriel Streeter, 81, a Tucson resident for the past 22 years, died on Friday, August 18, 1995. 'Muriel Streeter' was a well known local artist with works that had been seen at Loews Ventana Canyon, local Tucson homes and currently can be seen at Rosequist Galleries. Survived by stepdaughter, Linda Fletcher-Evans; two brothers and one sister. Memorial Service at the family home on Thursday, August 24 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

WOLANSKY, Jacob, 98, died Friday, August 18, 1995. Survived by son, Raymond and his wife, June Wolansky of Germany. Jacob was born in Ukraine and came to the United States at the age of 21. Settled in Cleveland, OH and started the profession as a beautician and barber. Moved to Tucson in 1961 and has made this his home since then. Friends may call 2:00 p.m. until service time 3:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 1995 at EAST LAWN PALMS CHAPEL, 5801 E. Grant Rd. Officiating will be Pastor James Lundeen. Burial to follow at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

BERRIDGE, Dale G., died August 19, 1995. Survived by wife, Oleta; daughters, Arlene (Richard) Krueger, Donna (Robert) Langmead, both of Tucson; son, Dale (Jan) Berridge Jr., of CA; sister, Helen Berridge of MO. Also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Marjorie Westmoreland. Mr. Berridge was a charter member of St. James United Methodist Church and a member of the Antique Automobile Club. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 22nd, at St. James United Methodist Church, 3255 N. Campbell Ave., with Rev. Gary Roper officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment will follow with Masonic Services at graveside. HILL, Donna M., 66 of Tucson, passed away unexpectedly August 17, 1995. She is survived by her husband John T. Hill; twin daughters, Jane M. (Brian) Brooks of Pomona, CA, and Jean L. (Dick) Clark of Portland, OR; grandchildren Bradford and Brittany Brooks; and brother, Thomas L. Lippolt of Tucson. Donna was born in Madison, WI on June 3, 1929 to Walter M. and Hazel I. Lunn. She married Lt. John T. Hill on August 26, 1949. During John's career in the Air Force they were stationed at Davis Monthan in Tucson. The family moved back to Tucson after Lt. Colonel Hill's retirement in 1971. Donna joined Sundt Corp. a Tucson based construction company shortly after their relocation back to Tucson. In 1975 she became one of the first women in the state of AZ to achieve accreditation of Certified Professional Secretary (CPS). She was elected Tucson's own Secretary of the Year in 1977 by the San Xavier Chapter of the National Secretary Association. Donna was named Corporate Secretary for Sundt in 1984 and was promoted to Vice President in 1989. She was an active member and past President of Executive Women's International (EWI), a professional organization for women in management. After 21 years of dedicated service with Sundt, she retired in 1992 as Vice President and Corporate Secretary. While at Sundt, 'she demonstrated that you can make a difference'. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday, August 21 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 22, at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL. HINES, Alfa Florence, Passed away August 17, 1995 in Green Valley at the age of 94. Born March 7, 1901 in Buffalo, KS. Formerly of LaGrange, IL. She came to Tucson in 1962 and settled in Green Valley, AZ. A member of Green Valley Community Church. Survived by daughter, Carriebelle Grubbs; grand-daughters, Sandy Petkoff and Anda Grubbs; great-grandchildren, Glen Grubbs, Daniel Lovell and Tina Baca; special friends, Katrina Schronk and Phil Rascop. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22, 1995 from 9:00 A.M. to 10: A.M. at SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY, 5401 S. MILLER, EDWARD L., 84, of Mammoth, AZ. Born September 9, 1910 in a sod house near Boyce City, OK., died August 19, 1995 in Tucson, AZ. A veteran of WWII, he worked for Yarbrough Construction Company for a number of years. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Jessee Margaret Miller; one daughter, Nancy Walker; grandchildren, Phillip Walker, Jessee Walker, and Misty Rojas; four great-grandchildren. QUINTERO Rose B., 66, Born April 17, 1929. Peacefully entered into eternal life to be re-united with her father and mother, Alejandro and Jessie Brown; and her sisters, Grace Galvan and Alice Carpenter, on August 16, 1995. Having been the most beautiful and beloved mother and father for so many years, she is survived by her daughter, Karen (Andy) Robles; sons, Chris (Julie), Ray (Linda) and Jim (Shirley). She has eight grand-children and one great-granddaughter. She will also be dearly missed by her brother, Frank (Irene) Brown; sisters, Mary (Mike) Riesgo, Olga Camacho, Yolanda Vega, Cecilia (Ben) Alvarez, Christina (Alex) Ochoa and also in her heart, Louis (Maria) Galvan, Olga (Bob) Epstein. Many nephews and nieces and many good friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 21, 1995 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. RAY, Pearl, 92, went home to be with the Lord August 16, 1995. Mrs. Ray is survived by her two sons, Wilbur and Lyle (Margaret) Ray; six grandchildren, Michael, Gary, David, Margaret Elizabeth and Darrell Ray and Bradley Bach; four great-grandchildren; numerous other loving friends and relatives also survive. Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; two sons, Darrell and Mark and her only daughter, Elizabeth Ray Bach, her son-in-law Tom Bach and her granddaughter, LeAnn Bach. Mrs. Ray, a graduate of Ball State Normal College taught in Jay County, Indiana. She married Darrell Ray in 1924. Later Mr. and Mrs. Ray owned Ray's Christian Supplies in Kankakee, IL. The couple were life members of Gideon International. Mr. and Mrs. Ray retired and moved to Tucson shortly after the tragic accident that took the lives of Elizabeth, Tom and Le Ann Back. The Ray's became members of Christ Community Church. Remembrances may be made to Gideons International or Alzheimer's Assoc. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, 5801 E. Grant. Memorial service will be at the same location Wednesday 11:00 a.m.
