HUPP, Col. George G., US Air Force Retired, 69, died on May 6, 1995 after a prolonged illness. Col. Hupp dedicated his life to the service of his country as a pilot in the US Air Force from 1943 through 1977. He flew 100 combat missions as a reconnaissance pilot in Korea, and completed two tours of combat duty in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, flying over 200 combat missions. He received numerous military decorations including the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal, and Bronze Star. Col. Hupp was an active member in a number of professional associations including The Red River Valley Fighter Pilots Association, The Dadaelians, The Society of Experimental Test Pilots, and the Quiet Birdmen. He is survived by his mother, Audrey; his brother, Jack; his good friend, Fran Rafter; his wife, Betty; and their six children, Brian, Roxanne, Alison, Melanie, George, and Colin. A memorial service for Col. Hupp will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th at Davis-Monthan AFB Chapel 1. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17th. JAMES, Ricky A., 30 years old, died Saturday, May 6, 1995. He was an Arizona resident for 7 years. Mr. James worked as an air traffic control specialist for the FAA. He spent four years in the Army. GRAMER, Arthur F. Rev. Msgr., 85, died Friday May 5, 1995 in Tucson after a long illness. He was a native of Ft. Worth, TX and was ordained a priest for the diocese of Tucson in 1934. He was assistant pastor at St. Augustine's Cathedral and Chancellor of the Diocese of Tucson from 1934 to 1937. Pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Tempe from 1937 to 1941; Pastor of All Saints Parish in Tucson from 1941 to 1960; and pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Parish from November of 1960 until his retirement from active ministry in June of 1986. He also was Director of Catholic Social Services of Arizona (Now Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona) from 1942 to 1958, and was Moderator of the Tucson Diocean Council of Catholic Women from 1956 to 1960. He was named Monsignor in 1951. He is survived by his sister, Virginia Holloway of Kansas City, and several nieces and nephews. A Rosary and Vigil will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Monday, May 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of The Resurrection will be held at the church on Tuesday May 9 at 10:00 a.m. with the Most Rev. Manuel D. Moreno, Bishop of Tucson, and priests of the diocese of Tucson as concelebrants. Burial will follow at Holy Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sts. NELSON, Margaret 'Sue', quietly passed away on May 7, 1995. Born September 19, 1927 in Akron, OH. She married Orville P. Nelson on December 6, 1947 who predeceased her on December 11, 1981 after 34 years of Marriage. She worked with the Amphitheater/Canyon del Oro Schools until retirement. She was a long standing and faithful member, deaconess and elder of the First Christian Church of Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by her mother, Nannie Ferrington, she is survived by her father, Roy Ferrington of London, KY; daughter, Vicki (Dean) Salisbury of Mt. Laurel, NJ; son, Michael (Becki) Nelson of Morristown, NJ; daughter, Edythe (Brad) Clark of Germantown, MD; grandchildren Amy (Rob), Michael, Bryan, Daniel, Laurel and Andrew; and great-grandchild Zachary. SONENBLICK, Fae, 95, passed away May 3, 1995. Born in Fargo, ND on April 29, 1900, she moved to Chicago where she lived for many years. In 1948 she moved to Tucson with her husband, Ben, who passed away in 1952. She served as a community leader, giving of herself to many worthwhile charitable organizations and to her 'love', music. A talented soprano vocalist, she led many choral groups, and for many years she was part of the choir at Temple Emanuel. To describe her is to describe the intangibles, those values that often remain below the surface: love, purpose, a feeling for God, care and concern for others, a yearning for advancement – constituted the essence of her being. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Anita) Sonenblick of Tucson and DeeDee (David) Raskov of Palm Springs, CA, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Private family services were held Sunday, May 7. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to any organization associated with music, the arts, or a favorite charity.
BAILEY, Edith Scott, 88, of Tucson, died May 5, 1995. Survivors include two stepson, Richard Bailey of Glendale and Dr. Phillip Taylor of Brown Deer, WI; sister, May Schreibis of Sheridan, WY; one step-granddaughter; and many loving nieces and nephews. BRESKIN, 'Aunt' Dolores, quietly passed away on May 5, 1995 after a courageous bout with cancer. She was 85 years old, born April 12, 1910 in Opole, Poland. She migrated to the United States at age 10 with her family where she was instrumental in raising her brother and sisters. 'Aunt' Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Breskin and son, Arnold Breskin. She is survived by her loving brother, Harry Karpman of Covina, CA; niece, Ann Kaiser of Milwaukee, WI; nephews, Ben Berlin of Milwaukee, WI and Bernard Weinstein of Tucson; great-niece Carrie, Rosen of Columbus, OH; great-nephews, Steven Weinstein of Tucson and Mike Weinstein of Harbor City, CA; and dear friends Julieanne Fitzpatrick and Sammie Allen.
