HERMAN, Betty Jane, 77, of Tucson, died June 5, 1995. Survivors include daughter, Martha (Ron) Lauback of Tucson; two nephews, Ken and Michael (Marjorie) Weiss. Preceded in death by her sister, Frances Weiss and her parents, Sigmund and Helen Seitner. Betty was proud of her volunteer work at Handmaker Jewish Service for the aging and El Dorado Hospital. MILLER, Paul C., 40, of Las Vegas, died June 2, 1995. He was born June 11, 1954 in Hot Springs, SD. His family moved to Tucson in 1968. He graduated from Sahuaro High School in 1972. He joined the Marines and served his country from 1973 to 1977. He worked in Construction in Tucson, moving to Las Vegas in 1989 where he continued in the same type of work. He is survived by his wife, Kim; four children from a previous marriage, Kristi, Jason, Danielle and Mathew of Susanville, CA; his parents, Ed and Mary Ann Miller of Tucson; one sister, Jean (Scott) Alexander of London, England; and a grandmother, Myrle Miller of Hot Springs, SD; as well as two nieces, Shannon and Tanya. SCHWARTZ, Robert Edward, 76, died June 3, 1995. Survived by his wife, Sophia Schwartz of Tucson; children, Roxanne Taylor, Robert Schwartz Jr., Patricia Money, Richard Schwartz, all of Tucson and Rachel Green of WI; eight grandchildren; brother, John Schwartz of WI; and sister, Ethel Shelton of KS. Mr. Schwartz was an Army Air Corps WWII veteran. He played professional basketball, 1939-1941 for the Sheboggan Redskins in the National Basketball League, which is now the NBA. VAN DEMAN, William H., 84, of Largo, Florida, died June 4, 1995. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 3, 1911. He moved to Tucson with his family in 1929 and graduated from Tucson High School and the University of Arizona. At the University he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He retired to Green Valley, Arizona in 1976 and lived there until he moved to Florida in 1993. He is survived by wife, Mary; and two sons, William Jr. and Tate; and five grandchildren. Services will be held in Largo, Florida. Remembrances may be made to the University of Arizona Cancer Center.

BLUE, Rosalie Francis, 64, died tragically May 31, 1995, the result of a single car accident. A native of Newton, KS., Rosalie lived in Tucson for the last 33 years. She was preceded in death recently by her loving husband, Houston. Rosalie was a retired nutritional supervisor for the Tucson Unified School District. Surviving are daughter, Deneise Minor; granddaughter, Stacey Glawaeki; and grandson, Justin, all of Ponca City, OK; son, Scott Blue; grandchildren, Robin and Johnny Blue of Sparks, NV; daughter, Sherry Derifield, son in law, Warren; grandchildren, Shawn, Shane and Shad Derifield; great grandson, Dakota, all of Sparks, NV; son, Mike Blue, daughter in law, P.J.; grandsons, Jeremy and Brandon Blue, all of Tucson; daughter, Janice Lee, son in law, Brent; grandchildren, Heather, Rachel and Jared Lee, all of Sparks, NV; daughter, Elizabeth Blue, future son in law, Larry Petr of Dallas, TX. GARCIA, Jesse C., 72, of Tucson, died Saturday, June 3, 1995. Survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Jorge S. and J Grant Garcia; brother, Daniel (Esther) Garcia; sister, Lily (Jim) Lauwers. Preceded in death by his parents, Amado and Ignacia. Jesse was a disabled WWII veteran, receiving three Purple Hearts. GIBBONS, Kathryn Branton, died June 2, 1995, in Tucson. She was born September 26, 1910, in Camden, NJ. She was a resident of Collingswood and Cherry Hill, NJ., before retiring in 1976, when she moved to Tucson with her sister, Sara Schuck. She was the Executive Secretary for the Philadelphia tea importer, Irwin, Harrisons, Whitney and with her son, James, owned a tea packing company, Triangle Tea. For 35 years she was the organist and choir director of the 1st Baptist Church of Collingswood, NJ. After her retirement in Tucson, she was the organist for the Judson American Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary and Soroptomist of Tucson. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her quick wit, her strength of character, her beautiful music, and her generosity. She was the widow of James C. Gibbons who passed away in 1969. She departed this world and joined her beloved son James C. Gibbons, Jr., on his birthday. She was also preceded in death by her sister. To her surviving granddaughters, Kathryn Marie Gibbons and Jennifer Leigh Gibbons of Tucson, she was a loving 'Nana' who will never be forgotten. She is also survived by daughters-in-law, Ellen Harper Gibbons and Elizabeth Anne Fimbres, of Tucson. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Judson American Baptist Church, 625 W. Los Altos, Tucson, Rev. Paul Williams officiating. KAHWATY, Vincent N., 54, of Tucson passed away June 2, 1995. He was born in Paterson, NJ. Son of Elias (Lou) Kahwaty of Sun City, and Sara Kahwaty. He is survived by his wife Beverly Kahwaty. Devoted brother of Lois Planco of New York City; beloved father to his sons Ely and Mark Kahwaty. He was employed by IBM as an electrical engineer and numerous patents were granted because of his achievements. MILLER, Floyd Lewis, 97, of Tucson, died June 2, 1995. Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Clesta; daughter, Shirley Kratz, Tucson; son, Kenneth Miller, MI; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Miller was the Tucson Senior Man of the Year in 1991. He had accumulated over 8000 hours of volunteer services to the community.
