Father of, Hugh Gierst of Tucson, Joseph Gierst, Eric Gierst, and Gill Gierst, all of CA; brother of, Ben Gierzadowicz and Sophie Clark, both of PA; grandfather of, Dustin B. Gierst of CA, and Jesus Acuna of Mexico. Mr. Gierst served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired a Master Sargent. He also worked for Mountain Bell (U.S. West) for 19 years before retiring. HOWARD, Lillian Genevieve, born May 5, 1960, passed away on June 15, 1995. Beloved wife of Bobby E. Howard; daughter of, Frances D. Fernandez and John M. Fernandez; sister of, John T. Fernandez (Lisa), Yvonne A. Yancey (Victor), Christine A. Anaya (Jaime), Daniel W. Fernandez (Jennifer) and Angie E. Fernandez; granddaughter of Maria T. Darmer and Juana Fernandez; survived by five nephews, two nieces, two uncles, four aunts and nine cousins. She is now our angel in Heaven. Lillian was a native of Tucson and resided in Tucson all of her life. She graduated from Sunnyside High School in 1978 and graduated from Pima Community College. Lillian enjoyed 'experiencing life' in her spare time. Lillian was devoted to her family and loved to spend time with all of them. Lillian was adored by her husband with whom traveling was not only an adventure but her joy. 'Lily, you were truly Exceptional!!' She will be remembered as happy, caring and always bringing laughter and smiles to her many family and friends; among them her co-workers, most recently, at Pima Community College and Sunnyside School District. A special 'thank you' to her loving and compassionate physician and friend, Barbara. 'My daughter, My heart is broken, I never thought your life would end before mine. If I could give you life again, I would die in your place. I will miss you every hour of every day. You were a part of me and that part in me goes with you. I know we will meet again. You were the best a mother could have. Remember and take with you the wonderful things you did for me. I will remember quiet talks in your living room, dinner at Westin La Paloma, menudo on New Year's Eve when you were all dressed up and beautiful, shopping at the mall, Thanksgiving at your house or my house; I must thank you very much for all this and so much more. I loved you more than life, and that love will never cease. It was never fair these last three years of this earth. I will look forward to the day when I can see you again and we can be together. Thank you again for giving me the privilege of being a mother to a most wonderful and caring daughter. I love you, I'll miss you. TAYLOR, Florence G., 71, of Tucson, born in Youngstown, OH., October 19, 1923 died Thursday, June 16, 1995. A devoted grandmother, her greatest joy was time spent with her grandchildren. She was an indomitable spirit, with a zest for living. She loved to travel, dine out and play bingo. CAMPANELLA, Catherine May, 61, of Tucson, AZ for the past 17 years, died Friday, June 9, 1995 in her home. Born November 23, 1933 in Rochester Township, PA. She is the daughter of the late Roy Alvin and Katherine M. Klinesmith Spade. She was preceded in death by her parents and also two husbands, CW 3 Joseph A. Campanella and Alexander Tokar. Surviving are her fiance, Dr. Alexander Winthrop Carter Carlisle III; one daughter and son-in-law, Catherine L. and Kevin Gates of Chico, CA; one son, Mark Allen Campanella of Tucson, AZ; two beloved grandsons, Michael Anthony Gates and Brandon Alexander Gates, both of Chico, CA; one brother, Gale Alvin Spade; and a sister, Joyce Castelucci, both of New Brighton, PA. FARIES, Karen Joy, 53, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend was suddenly called to be with her Lord, June 11, 1995. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John; daughter, Dawn Faith; sons David (Kim) and Nathaniel (Jenny); and granddaughters, Nicole Lynn and Shelby Dawn, all of Tucson. She was the Secretary of the Tucson Rodeo Committee for 10 years, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Choir for over 40 years, and a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Clinic Auxiliary. HART, Edward A. Jr., age 74, of Tucson, died Thursday, June 8, 1995. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty; three sons, Richard of Phoenix, Gregory (Evelyn) of San Antonio, and Bruce of Tucson; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Colin, Craig and Sara; two sisters, Helen Cook of Grand Junction, CO., and Virginia Earnest of Glenwood Springs, CO. Edward served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Warrant Officer. He retired in 1985 after 32 years of service at St. Marys Hospital. Mr. Hart's affiliations include The American Academy of Medical Administrators, AZ Hospital Assoc., AZ Mental Health Assoc., Hospital Financial Mgrs. Assoc., V.F.W., The Elks, The American Legion, The U.A. Alumni Assoc, and was listed in Who's Who, 1980-1981.
