MARCUM, Robert C., 58, of Sahuarita, AZ and a former resident of Tucson, died suddenly at home on March 11, 1995. Survived by spouse, Sharon K. Marcum; children, Alvina (Ian) Robertson of Sahuarita, AZ, Robert G. (Patti) Marcum of Somerset, CA, Andra L. (Jeffrey) Jones of Tucson and Michael A. (Annie) Marcum of Tucson; brothers, Harvey and Joseph, both of Columbus, OH, William of Tucson and Jack of Arlington, TX; sisters, Joanne and Gwendolyn, both of Columbus, OH; and 12 grandchildren. He served in the US Navy and was an employee of Anamax Copper Mine in Twin Buttes for 31 years. Mr. Marcum was a loving husband, devoted father and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 16, 1995 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at GREEN VALLEY MORTUARY CHAPEL. OURAND, Joyce Ethel, born October 7, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. Survived by sons, Robert D. (Danita) Miller, James (Bobbi) Miller, both of Tucson; and daughters, Barbara Bird of Tucson and Mary Jo (John) Brentari of Houston. She has 12 grandchildren. Joyce worked for numerous charitable and volunteer organizations including Kappa Delta Phi Sorority (Past President) Mualpha Chapter and Daughters of the Nile, Olana Temple #131. ROUNDS, John L., 77, died Sunday, March 11, 1995 at the VA Hospital in Tucson, AZ. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie N.; sisters, Edna Coffman and Evelyn Lorenz; sons, Roy Rounds and Jerry Rounds; daughters, Linda Kahle and Susan Maddox; and seven grandchildren. John was a member of American Legion Post 36, Moose Lodge 747, National Oldtimers Fiddlers Assoc., Telephone Pioneers, Eastern Arizona and New Mexico Oldtimers Assoc., California and Arizona Assoc. of Violin Makers and a National Certified Fiddler Judge. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 16 from 10:00 a.m. until time of Service at 1:30 p.m. at Hudgel’s SWAN FUNERAL HOME, 22nd and Swan, with Military Honors. Burial at East Lawn Palms Cemetery.

ALMADA, Gilbert Ronquillo, 85, WWII Marine Sgt., loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and 40 year veteran of the military, passed away Friday, March 10, 1995 in Tucson, AZ after a brief illness. Born December 24, 1909, he enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard in 1929 where he served until 1934. In 1937 Gilbert joined the Marine Corps Reserve in Gary, IN where he served until 1940. He then went into active duty in 1941 prior to WWII. Served with 4th Marine Air Wing as gunner and mechanic on B-26's until his honorable discharge in 1945. Active service was overseas in Guam, Iwo Jima, Saipan and Midway. Medals honored to him during WWII were: WWII Victory Medal, American Defense Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with Battle Star. 1st Sgt. Almada re-enlisted in Battery “A’ 1st Battalion 151st Artillery in 1955 in MN. The Minnesota National Guard presented an award which reads in part, “For his untiring, unselfish activities Master Gunner Gilbert R. Almada is awarded the Good Conduct Medal, 10 year Service Medal, Army Service Medal. 1st Sgt. Almada’s meritorious duty over 40 years reflects most favorably upon himself, the unit of which he is a member, the Minnesota National Guard and the state of MN.’ Gilbert Almada was also very active in his community life, being a member in good standing as Knight Templar in the Masonic Order, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Marine Corps Club and the Brick Layers International Union. Gilbert R. Almada will be remembered as a big source of support and strength for our entire family, a kind and caring father, brother and inspiration to us all. Survived by his children, Gilbert L. (Connie) Almada, Dolores Almada (Robert Dixon), Edward M. (Thelma) Almada and Robert J. (Gloria) Almada; also survived by a loving brother, Richard R. Almada; and sister, Stella Almada (Rudy Arenas); eight loving grandchildren and three loving great-grandchildren also survive. Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 15 at BRING’S MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Mass will be offered 9:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S. Stone. ANGIULO, Michael J., PhD., 43, passed away March 11, 1995. Son of Michael D. and Rose Angiulo of Tucson; brother of Dominick (Kathy) Angiulo of Tucson and Dr. James P. (Nanette R.) Angiulo of Tucson; father of Rachele Angiulo and Carolyn Angiulo both of Tucson; nephew of Jennie (Cookie) Pezzolla, Teresa and Taris Charysyn, Rose and Leonard Maynard and Velma Angiulo all of Tucson. Also survived by two aunts and two uncles in New York City and numerous nephews and nieces in Tucson and New York. BARKSDALE, William E. “Bill’, 67, a resident of Tucson and formerly of New York, died Friday, March 10, 1995. Survived by wife, Clara of Tucson; son, Peter (Chris) of Clayton, NC; daughter, Marian of Tucson; one grandchild; sister, Molly Nesbitt of Wrightstown, NC. Bill was a photographer and retired Associate Professor of Art at Mercer County Community College, Trenton, NJ (1958-1987). As a photographer he exhibited in many galleries throughout the US, including Brooklyn Museum. His work is represented in the permanent collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New York City and in many private collections. Bill received his B.A. in Art from the College of William and Mary in 1949. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 620 N. Wilmot Rd.
