THOMPSON, Margarita Marinez, a lifetime resident of Tucson, passed away March 16, 1995 at the age of 44. She worked at Pima Community College for 25 years. Survived by her husband, Alfonso Navarro; parents, Maria and Manuel Marinez; sister, Dolores Marinez; brothers, Francisco (Irma) Marinez and David (Gina) Marinez; sisters, Isabel (Willie) Figueroa and Salley (Frank) Alegria; nine nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. CASTRILLO, Jerry M., 44, died March 12, 1995. Son of, Jerry Castrillo; brother of, Harold Castrillo of CA, Dale Castrillo of Tucson, Christina, Sheryl, Lori, and Michelle; grandson of, Elsie Emerson and Rejino Montes, both of Phoenix. EISENBERG, S. Harold, 3/14/1995, of Tucson, 76, died March 13, 1995. Survived by his wife, Shulamith, “Shullie’; sister, Ruth Rosenthal (Sandy); daughter, Sandee Brooke; sons, David (Pat), Paul (Chris) of Sunriver, Oregon, and Jake (Tzvia); 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many loving relatives and friends. Harold was born in New York City in 1919, moved to Miami Beach, Florida in 1935, and married Shullie in Miami in 1941. They moved to Tucson in April of 1943. Harold and Shullie were winners of the 1994 Jefferson Award for their lifetime of community service and numerous other honors for their civic involvement in the civil rights movement, desegregation of the public school system, and in working to create affordable and fair housing. Harold and Shullie together owned Windowcraft in Tucson for 45 years. A celebration of his life is being planned for this Spring. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, gifts of time or money be made to the charity of cause most important to the giver.
FRYE, Irene Lewis, 65, of Tucson, died March 15, 1995. Born December 4, 1929 in Portageville, MO, retired sales supervisor at Davis-Monthan A.F.F.E.E.S. Survived by daughters, Sharon Mullen, Tucson, Deborah Davis of Toledo, OH; sisters, Betty Keys of Jackson, MO, Polly Huffman of Ft. Worth, TX; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. GRUNER, Charles T., 84, of Tucson, died March 13, 1995. He was a retired mechanical engineer, GM and Clayton Environmental. Survived by wife, Mildred; sons, John (Cassie), and George Gruner; daughter, Jenean (Don) Thomson; brother, Maurice Gruner; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. GUZMAN, Gabriel “Gabe’, 64, of Phoenix, AZ., passed away March 13, 1995. Beloved husband of Amelia Guzman. Also survived by brother, Pete Guzman; ten nieces; nine nephews; and eight God Children. Gabe was a dedicated and loving teacher for 30 years and retired from El Mirage School in 1992. He was a Cursillista and faithful servant of Christ. Gabe was an alumni of the University of Arizona. He was a member of St. Jerome’s, Knights of Columbus. He also was a veteran of U.S. Air Force. He will be sorely missed by his wife, family, friends, students and co-workers. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 1995 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time at TUCSON MORTUARY, (South Chapel), 240 S. Stone Ave., with Mass offered 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Cathedral. PATTERSON, Otis James, 82, died Tuesday, March 14, 1995 in Tucson, Arizona. Survived by wife of 54 years, Ada B.; his sons, Alan and Jerry, both of Ohio; daughter, Sue Grover of Tucson; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Patterson was the youngest of nine children, had been one of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1948, and retired from Babcock and Wilcox Company after 33 1/2 years of service and moved to Tucson in 1976. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 18, 1995 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7135 N. PROSPER, Lawrence F., 60 years old, died Wednesday, March 8, 1995 in Tucson. Survived by his wife, Mary Prosper of Tucson; children, Julie Anne Prosper, Paul Lawrence Prosper, both of Tucson, Peter Lawrence Prosper of San Diego, CA, Mary Anne Hernandez of Houston, TX; one grandson, Lawrence F. CHESIN, Ruth Carol, a 43 year resident of Tucson, died of a serious respiratory infection on March 12, 1995 at the age of 63. She was born, raised and educated in New York. She was a Spanish Honors graduate of Brooklyn College and she earned a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Arizona. Ruth was a gifted teacher, loving mother, caring daughter, aunt, sister, grandmother and friend. Ruth was the Director of the Shanhouse Preschool at the Tucson Jewish Community Center from 1954-1975. She was a fashion consultant at Goldwaters in the late seventies and eighties. She loved international travel, fine fashion, good theatre, fine food, chocolate, jewelry and she loved to shop. Ms Chesin is survived by her mother, Anna Ginsberg of Tucson; sister, Betty (Merrill) Holpert; her children, Marc, Michael (Susan), Jeffrey, Tamara (Gary) Wolfe; and grandchildren, Bryan and Bari Chesin, Matthew and Daniel Chesin, Lauren and Daniel Wolfe. She is also survived by nephew, Peter Holbert; niece, Terry Holpert (Alan Stein); grandnephews, Benjy and David Stein. COTE, Julia Thorpe, 90, passed away on Monday, March 13, 1995 in her home at the Tanque Verde Ranch. She is survived by her son, Bob, also of the Tanque Verde Ranch, sons, J. Randy and Sam A. and daughter, Mary C. Boos, all of Minneapolis, MN; and son, Bo of Aspen, CO. Her large family consists of 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of friends responding to her animated life. DUDLEY, CMSGT Clinton Ray, U.S.A.F., ret., 73, of Tucson, died Sunday, March 12, 1995. Preceded in death by his son, Ronald W. Dudley. Survived by his wife, Margie; children, Barbara Jean (John) Bennett, Gerald Ray (Nan) Dudley; daughter-in-law, Phyliss Dudley; grandchildren, Shawn, Cathleen, Christy, Claire, Crystal, Robert; great-grandchildren, Cody, Jimmy, Lacy, Destinee, Nicole; sister, Helen (Robert) Knowles; twin brother, Roy C. (Ann) Dudley; sister-in-law, Alberta Dudley. After 30 and one-half years of service in the U. S. Air Force, Mr. Dudley retired in 1971 and worked as a Letter Carrier for the U. S.
